Pretty dark...

Say what you will about our little ancient website here and all the bickering, but I think we can be reasonably sure that everyone we still interact with here is human.

It's kind of funny to hear that a lot of people have slowly started migrating from huge sites like Twitter and Facebook back to private servers. When I heard that I thought of our little group here and how we never actually left in the first place. Maybe if the daily discourse here wasn't so toxic some old familiar faces might show up here again. But then again, the RWED was always a cesspool. One more reason I'd appreciate keeping all of our bullshit in this forum and outside of other forums on the site.

And seriously... If you haven't come up with code phrases to say over the phone to your circle to verify that you're actually talking to each other yet, you should probably waste no time doing it. Yanno... Just in case somebody you love calls you up asking for money, or worse yet somebody claims to have kidnapped somebody you love and puts them on the phone to talk to you.

And don't talk about your phrases over the phone or on the internet.

I don't have a lot of time and need to get back to what I'm doing, but I did want to say that even though Newsmax might be considered "counter culture" today, I think it's just as bad as any of the other "news" stations out there, in that they make their money by generating nothing but fear and hatred.

But as bad as I think Newsmax is, "The First" network is so much worse than them. The last time I had my brother here around the holidays I'd let him watch news for a while because he likes watching it, but on Christmas Day The First was spending all this time talking about how people, particularly white male adults, were super depressed around the holidays and a lot of them choose to commit suicide around Christmas. And they just kept fucking talking about it.

I told my brother to turn that shit off and that The First was never going to be played in my house again. Why the fuck would you talk about that in gruesome detail and go on and on and on about it on Christmas Day?

Bill O'Reilly isn't part of "Pluto TV" though, is it? I'm pretty sure that Pluto TV was advertised on Newsmax, but it's a streaming service that shows network TV with commercials, and/or it's a service that shows a whole lot of different streaming channels that add in a bunch of commericals.

I'm pretty sure that Bill O'Reilly is on Newsmax now, or at least he was at some point in the last few years.

But yeah, The First was just awful. I didn't like it before I saw that segment they did on Christmas day, but that was the end of me ever watching it. I'm not saying people shouldn't talk about the issue, because it IS a legitimate problem... But who would actually sit and watch News on Christmas Day anyhow? I think there's probably a good overlap of people who would also kill themselves. So probably not the best topic to rail on on Christmas. Wait until after New Years or something.
