Very interesting insight here.

Though I don't have any clue where I would have wrote it, I spent months telling everyone that Republicans would embrace the system of cheating that Democrats erected in 2020 using Covid as the excuse in the battleground states and they would be better at than the Democrats when they did. Especially if and when Trump got on board and started pushing it at his rallies, as he eventually did.

Over 88 Million people voted early in 2024, and 38% of them were Republicans. And it goes without saying or even investigating that if you took California, New York and Illinois out of the equation, that number is anywhere from a 50/50 split to Trump leading Harris. So in other words... Trump likely had a early voting edge on Harris in nearly every battleground state if not all of them.

How many of them would have just stayed at home on Election Day and not voted at all if Democrats didn't leave that door wide open and make it painfully, excessively easy to do?

Five percent? Ten? Probably far more?

Had mail-in ballots and early voting not existed and only 5% of those who voted early for Trump decided to be lazy and stay home on election day, Harris almost certainly would have won the Electoral College. If 10% of them stayed home, Harris just won the Popular Vote too.
