However, after receiving donations from the Soros family, Amy Padden was elected district attorney and sworn into office this January. What was two years in jail suddenly became two years’ probation and 100 hours of community service. The illegal immigrant then decided to apply for asylum from his native Colombia so he could stay in the United States indefinitely.
