Okay, I first posted this in response to our favorite quotes thread. But then I realized many would have their own opinion on the best Buffy Spike moments (funny, sexy, emotional, whatever). Here's mine.

I'd have to say the most rewarding and fulfilling Buffy Spike scene comes in Chosen. I'm talking about the basement scene where Buffy gives him the amulet. I think I watched that scene 20 times when I had the DVD. First of all, it's funny - drawing of Angel on the punching bag/"He wears lifts you know", "So where's talk, dark and forehead?", "the pretty necklace your sweetie bear gave you." And of course the moment when Buffy gives Spike the amulet. "Angel said the amulet was meant to be worn by a champion." Spike looks down, more than a little dissapointed. Without a word, Buffy puts the amulet in his hand. The music is perfect, I love the close up shot with nothing but black in the background. And the perfect follow up line: "Been called a lot of things in my time." Oh, how wonderful. And then when Buffy says Faith has her room, Spike kicks her out saying he's got his pride and that she's "got Angel breath", and then of course he tells her he was bluffing. She says oh thank god and they chuckle. "Truth is I don't know what I would have done if you'd have gone up those stairs." And then she gently touches his face. I LOVE IT. This scene has everything. Definitely my favorite Buffy Spike scene.

"Vampires of the world, BEware." - Buffybot

I LOVE that scene. Their chemistry really shines.

Really, for me, there are too many to name. But... I will anyway.

-Spike's "you're the one" speech
-Buffy kissing him at the end of "Intervention"
-Spike's face after seeing a dead Buffy, "The Gift"
-Their one scene in "Hell's Bells"

That's all I've got for now.

HELLSANGEL

I like the one in season two when he seeks her out so they can take out Angel together... the whole, let me just kill this guy bit lol
its classic!
I also like it when buffy just sits with spike on the back porch and he comforts her about losing her mom or something
its so tender!

"In my plan, we are beltless!"

The great emotional moments were satisfying payoffs for the early antagonistic (usually funny) scenes between them.

I liked Spike as unwelcome Thanksgiving Dinner guest.

I also liked the scene between him and "Buffy" when Faith had taken over her body.

And how about that time he tried to stop Buffy from turning herself in for murder. She beat the hell out of him for his efforts. How could you not love the guy?! ...just a little anyway...

obviously this one is awesome:
Spike: You listen to me. I've been alive a bit longer than you, and dead a lot longer than that. I've seen things you couldn't imagine, and done things I'd prefer you didn't. I don't exactly have a reputation for being a thinker; I follow my blood, which does not always rush in the direction of my head. So I've made a lot of mistakes. A lot of wrong bloody calls. A hundred plus years, only one thing I've ever been sure of. You. Look at me. I'm not asking you for anything. When I tell you that I love you, it's not because I want you, or 'cause I can't have you, it has nothing to do with me. I love what you are, what you do, how you try... I've seen your strength, and your kindness, I've seen the best and the worst of you and I understand with perfect clarity exactly what you are. You are a hell of a woman. You're the one, Buffy.
Buffy: I don't... I don't want to be the one.
Spike: I don't want to be this good-looking and athletic. We all have crosses to bear.

and in...season 5 i think it is, after Buffy banned Spike from going into her house, and she finally invites him in.... GUH... the look on his face makes me want to cry.

SAFFRON: You can't just leave me here, on this
lifeless piece of crap moon...
MAL: Sure I can.
SAFFRON: I'll die.
MAL: Well, as a courtesy, you might start
getting busy on that, cause all this chatter ain't doin' me any kindness.

My favourite scene between them has got to be the last scene in Fool For Love, when Spike finds Buffy sitting crying on her back porch. He's come there to kill her but when he sees she's upset all he can do is try to comfort her. For me, this is the first scene that makes clear to us that he really loves her in his own twisted way, whether he wants to or not.

My favorite is at the end of "Chosen" when their clasped hands start to burn. It's so beautifully touching and symbolic.

My other favorite is the entire episode of "Something Blue." It's so flippin' hilarious.

Love that scene at the end of "The Gift" I cried, too. Heck, I still cry after seeing it a dozen times.

I also love Tabula Rassa, when Spike turns into a vampire and says "Hey, I'm a superhero too!" and Buffy screams and takes off running.

That episode is great, anyway.
"Randy Giles? Why don't you just call me Horny Giles, or Desperate For A Shag Giles?"

"Dear diary, today I was pompous and my sister was crazy."

In season 5(forget the episode) Buffy catches Spike outside her house and orders him to explain himself in 5 wordls or less. Spike's response, ticking off his fingers:

"Out...for..a...walk..." Thinks a second.... "Bitch."

In "Once More with Feeling":

SPIKE: So, you just came here to pump me for information?

BUFFY:What else would I want to pump you for...ohmigod, I really just said that!

The look on her face as she realizes what she's saying...priceless.

season 5 "gone"

Spike: That's not fair

this is one of my favorites and one of the funniest, and the look on his face in "the gift" when buffy dies i just think that it is so sweet.

I know Buffy wasn't involved in this scene (what can I say? I'm a rebel), but I gotta mention the scene during Giles' dream sequence in Restless. "I've hired myself out as an attraction." All the poses - hilarious. I hadn't watched much Buffy before that, and I think if I had to give credit to one scene for bringing me into the Jossverse, that would be it.

That and the Cheese Man.

You've all cited the best dramatic moments (and some funny ones too) but for hi-larity you can't top "Something Blue"; which is my nominee for funniest episode of BUFFY. Too funny for me to be able to pick out one single moment.

Not exactly Buffy/Spike, but the "Beneath You" scene where the girl whose boyfriend (worm) ate her dog got filled in on the backstory, and asked if any of the characters had not slept together, and Xander and Spike exchanged a look. I'm just sayin'.

Besides what has already been mentioned:

Their scene in the church at the end of Beneath You. "To be the kind of man that would nev- to be a kind of man."

"I love you."
"No, you don't. But thanks for saying it."

Spike playing with his Buffybot and her wanting to be "devoured".

In Life Serial I think it is when Spike takes Buffy out and she gets drunk.

Their talk in End of Days.

Man, sooo many.

There's so many.

-All of Fool for Love (my favorite episode!) was fantastic. But specifically the porch scene, where Spike is comforting Buffy. At the very, very, very end they're both sitting there and they sigh at the same time. It was fantastic.

-The "Every Night I save you" speech that Spike tells buffy after she came back.

-The very end of Beneath You. James Marsters really did his best work here, IMHO. BUt really, I could watch this scene a bazillion times.

- The sex scene in As You Were with the..

B-"Say you love me"
S-"You know I love you"
B-"Tell me you want me"
S-"I always want you, point of fact-"

-When Spike cries at when he sees Buffy's body at the end of The Gift.

There are others, but I can't think at the moment. Plus this list could get really, really long if I thought on it.

My show is too pretty to die.

I love this bit of dialogue from "Listening to Fear" in Season 5 when Spike comes out of the basement. The way Buffy and Spike look at each other cracks me up every time I see it:

Buffy: What the hell are you doing in my house?
Spike: Right then. Caught me. You're basement's full of junk, and me being in need of, uh, junk—
Buffy: You were stealing?
Spike: Well, yeah. Can't exactly work the counter at a burger bar now, can I?
Buffy: Wait. Are those pictures of me?

I'm another fan of "sitting on the porch" at the end of Fool for Love.

But also when he counts the number of days she was gone, then says "except today doesn't count."

Sniffle...

i second all of the season 5 responses. specifically, the entire episode of "the gift" and "fool for love".

besides that, vintage badass spike in 2/3 were great. awesome antagonism.

beginning of 6 was v. sweet. about up to "once more, with feeling"...and i guess i'll include smashed bc although i don't much care for the middle of season 6, that scene may have been one of the hottest/"how the HELL did they get past the censors" scenes on primetime network tv i've seen.

Season 5 Spike is what got me hooked on Buffy to begin with.
My very fave scenes:

Every night I save you.

147 days

You're the one.

For nonverbal stuff, my very fave thing is the look on Spike's face in the beginning of season 6 when he realizes that it is not the Buffybot coming down the stairs, but the real, resurrected Buffy.

On another off topic note; I really miss the Buffybot.

It's a toughy, but I've gotta say "Life Serial", when Buffy storms out of the demon bar:
"And also...I think you're drunk!"
Spike's face is priceless.
