I've made several anime music videos and was looking for a song to use for a Firefly mv. I had a few in mind, typical ballad/serious songs, and then I came across this one. And once I thought of it, it had to be made. Comments welcome at kestrel@sempai.org. Thanks for watching and big thanks to Haken for hosting!

Some one else was also getting the "Service Unavailable" message. My guess is too many people are trying to download it, since others were able to watch it at some point. Please check back again later. Or, if you have some way to receive an 7 meg file, I can send you a .wmv version of it.

Independents - I'm a Browncoat, of course. ;)

Just wanted to give YoSafBridge some screentime and get a little humor into the Firefly music video 'verse while creating my angsty Mal\Inara mv.

When I first seen the frontpage of the BLUESUN ROOM I just thought this was a wallpaper or something. After I finally noticed it said Current Media I decided to take a look.
It's pretty good.

Man, that was sooooo worth the wait and the multiple attempts to download it. GREAT JOB!

What hardware do you use for that? Do you just rip the video clips off the DVDs?

I use a combination of programs to rip DVD source to my computer, covert it an .avi format, and then import it into a Collection in Windows Movie Maker, which is where I do the actual editing of the music video. So far it's worked really well.

The ripping programs is DVD Decrypter -
http://www.dvddecrypter.com/

Then I use AutoGK (AutoGordianKnot) to convert the VOB files (what DVD Decrypter copies to my hard drive) to .avi files. AutoGK has a very good tutorial that walks you through what to do.
http://www.autogk.net/web/

After that, I open Windows Movie Maker (I'm on a laptop running Windows XP Office) and import the .avi files that AutoGK created and I'm ready to edit.

Windows Movie Maker has limied output options, but there are also a lot of converter out there to get it to the file format you want/need.

Hope that helps (and thanks for watching!),

I, too, am a Service Unavailable victim. Will keep trying, because the props I keep hearing for the vid in here are outstanding. Wish there were a better way to allow more of us to access it. Any better ideas, Author? I did try right-clicking but still got service unavailabe. As Otto in Fish Called Wanda screamed, so do I: "Disappointed!"

kestrelsempai link works fine. However, kestrel has taken the source footage from the DVD and encoded the edited footage as 4:3 aspect ratio - so it looks horrible, all vertically stretched. Reencoding the vid in 16:9 would solve the problem.

Aside from that, alright vid.

It's still available from my website:
http://www.kestrelsempai.com/mv/index.html#ysb

It should play in the correct resolution. If not, you may want to try using VLC as your media player. I use this player all the time since it handles playing just about every kind of video file:
