Trump was confused when White House staffers didn't like him rewinding Capitol riot highlights on TV, report says

Stephanie Grisham, a former White House press secretary, told CNN last month that Trump "gleefully" watched the insurrection unfold on TV, rewinding the footage at several points to watch it over again.

"Look at all of the people fighting for me," Trump said at the time, according to Grisham.

As White House staffers watched the riot unfold, the former president was shocked that they weren't as excited as he was.

McConnell wasn't done. As for the events of January 6, 2021, which the resolution condemning Cheney and Kinzinger had described as "legitimate political discourse," the Kentucky Republican was similarly blunt.

"We all were here; we saw what happened," said McConnell. "It was a violent insurrection for the purpose of trying to prevent the peaceful transfer of power after a legitimately certified election from one administration to the next. That's what it was."

Maine Sen. Susan Collins said the rioters who "broke windows and breached the Capitol were not engaged in legitimate political discourse, and to say otherwise is absurd."

RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel denied that the "legitimate political discourse" wording in the censure resolution was referring to the violent attack on the Capitol and said it had to do with other actions taken by the House committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection, but the resolution drew no such distinction.

"I think every American who watched the video of that attack and who watched that attack unfold knows that it was really shameful to suggest that that what happened that day might be legitimate political discourse," she said.

McConnell calls Jan. 6 a 'violent insurrection,' breaking with RNC

WASHINGTON — Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell disagreed Tuesday with the Republican National Committee’s recent censure of two GOP lawmakers, as well as its characterization of the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol.

“We all were here. We saw what happened. It was a violent insurrection for the purpose of trying to prevent the peaceful transfer of power after a legitimately certified election, from one administration to the next. That’s what it was,” McConnell, R-Ky., told reporters at his weekly news conference.

If you look up other words that mean the same thing as insurrection, you'll find the word coup.

In other news Rudolph William Louis Giuliani was a no show. He's in hiding.

The House committee investigating the US Capitol insurrection issued subpoenas to Rudy Giuliani and other members of Donald Trump's legal team who filed bogus legal challenges to the 2020 election that fueled the lie that race had been stolen from the former president.

"Another thing we'll do, and so many people have been asking me about it, if I run and if I win, we will treat those people from Jan. 6 fairly," Trump said to applause. "We will treat them fairly. And if it requires pardons we will give them pardons. Because they are being treated so unfairly."

Although former President Donald Trump reluctantly condemned his supporters who violently breached the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, he eventually softened his stance dramatically, going so far as to say the riot was simply "a day of protesting". Trump will pardon the people convicted on Jan 6th, once he gets the power. When he had the power, he pardoned people who deserved execution for first degree murder, as did Nixon:

Nixon’s Leniency After My Lai Hurt Veterans. Trump’s May, Too.
A president’s actions in 1971 helped turn public opinion against those who fought the Vietnam War. By James E. Wright, December 15, 2019

Those who disagree with President Trump’s recent pardons for two U.S. soldiers and a sailor who committed war-zone crimes have focused on how his actions undermine the military justice system, the code of conduct, military discipline, and the integrity of the chain of command. But there is another serious consequence, one that flows perhaps less from the pardons themselves than from the ways in which the President and others explained and justified them.

A U.S. Army platoon led by Lt. William Calley Jr. had swept into the town of My Lai and, finding no enemy soldiers, proceeded to kill as many as 600 villagers, largely women and children. Thirty soldiers were charged with crimes, including senior officers who allegedly ignored accounts of criminal action, but ultimately only Calley was convicted.

There was considerable public support for Lt. Calley. In a Gallup poll taken the following month, 69 percent of the respondents said he was a scapegoat. Many of his defenders went farther, arguing that he was, in fact, a hero. Country music stations played “Set Lt. Calley Free” and “Battle Hymn of Lt. Calley,” the latter of which eventually sold some two million records.

President Nixon’s actions and statements in the Calley case seemed to validate the view that everyone did it and no one is guilty—or perhaps, as some argued, that we were all guilty.

Pardoning or reducing sentences generally represents a determination that the process was prejudiced or unfair, that the accused was actually innocent, or that the sentence was excessive. Seldom does a pardon represent a judgment that the pardonee actually committed the offense and moreover that doing it was a commendable thing. President Nixon was careful not to go quite that far in public statements regarding Lt. Calley.

The day after the verdict, Nixon ordered Calley released from the post stockade and placed under house arrest in the Fort Benning bachelor officer quarters. Appeals would eventually reduce his punishment to time served. I forgot to mention that Nixon won reelection by a landslide. His opponent, George McGovern, lost because he was forcefully against pardoning Lt. Calley, the murderer. Since 69 percent of Americans forgave Lt. Calley for being a murderer, McGovern's loss was inevitable.

50 years after My Lai:

You can see from the article that he (Lt. Calley) did open up to me about certain matters, and I was the only reporter to talk to him after his conviction. I was also at his apartment the day that George Wallace (the governor of Alabama) showed up. That’s the other big part of the story as far as I’m concerned: how this became a major political event in America. The political story essentially overwhelmed the legal story in the end.

A huge body of American opinion was deeply offended by the idea that an American soldier who went out there in good faith could be put on trial for his life. It became kind of a Rorschach test of people’s political views and their feelings toward the war. It was already apparent before the trial started that people who opposed the anti-war movement, who were disgusted with the youth countercultu

McConnell squares off with conservatives for downplaying 'violent insurrection'

Senate GOP Leader Mitch McConnell made clear this week that the deadly events on January 6, 2021, were a "violent insurrection" meant to stop the peaceful transfer of power -- a comment prompting backlash from a number of House and Senate Republicans.

The lawyers are still undecided about whether killing Ashli Babbitt on Jan 6th was right or wrong, Justice or Injustice:

Evaluating the Police Shooting of Ashli Babbitt
https://www.lawfareblog.com/evaluating-police-shooting-ashli-babbitt
There are enough facts to conclude that even if Byrd violated Babbitt’s Fourth Amendment rights, it is highly unlikely that he could be ethically charged with, let alone convicted of, a crime. But those conclusions, tentative as they are, assume that courts will apply the legal rules that usually apply to police shootings. Given the unique context present here, though, we would not be surprised if that turned out not to be the case.

I am not a lawyer, but if the police had killed thousands of Trumptards, it would have been MAGA sweet justice.

Now it turns out that FBI are covering up and whitewashing the perpetrators who build and planted the Bomb(s), and also the Libtard Congressional Fake Commission on 6 Jan are also covering up all of this evidence and facts.

Mike Pence stood up for himself. Something must be off …

Trump has evolved into openly saying that his doormat, former Vice President Mike Pence, should have “overturned the election” in Trump’s favor. Presumably Trump felt that Pence would just take this degrading abuse, since that is how Pence has rolled for the past six years.

Remember that time that Trump egged on a mob that broke into the Capitol and chanted, “Hang Mike Pence”? If there was ever a time to 25th-Amendment Trump’s ass, that was it. But Pence just took it, and since leaving office, he’s kept pretty quiet. That changed last week.

In a speech to the Federalist Society, Pence said that “President Trump is wrong,” and that he, Mike Pence, “had no right to overturn the election.” That may be the bare minimum of a “rebuke” to Trump, but you’ve got to start somewhere. But that he even bothered to start somewhere, when there was no indication otherwise that preserving his dignity meant much to him, is another small indicator that Trump’s grip over the party is weakening.

There is a book out, covering most of the real issues which The Fake Commission is ignoring.
Book by Julie Kelly.

The Libtard house of cards prosecution narrative is collapsing. Sounds like nobody has pled down, turned against the truth and facts.
One key foundational block in the Libtard case is the location of Kamala Harris and/ or Mike Pence, which all of the Fake Cases are built upon. This disbelief has been kept suspended by denying cross examinations of Secret Service Agents who have been testifying. But a Judge has finally ruled that facts must rule over fantasy. I think name is Judge McFadden.

U.S. District Court Judge Trevor McFadden. Seems to have made his ruling on or prior to 25 Jan.
Now the Fake Foundation of all the cases can collapse.

I believe the tide is finally turning on this issue. Democrat tyrants overplayed their hands. Perhaps all of this shit would have flown if the economy wasn't doing well, but here we are.

You should watch what's happening in Canada if you aren't, and also seeing how this is rippling all across the world now. There's a march going on foot in Australia as we speak with a literal sea of people as far as the eye can see.

A long quote just to show that I have the book:

CHAPTER ELEVEN:

WILL THE CAPITOL DEFENDANTS GET A FAIR TRIAL?

American history is littered with examples of citizens protesting inside and outside government spaces. Sometimes those protests turn violent; police officers are attacked, lawmakers are bullied, property is damaged. Public buildings are the ideal location for Americans to voice their views on any range of subjects from the environment to war policy to a dubious presidential election.

The closest comparison between January 6 and another instance of partisan activists aggressively disrupting Congressional proceedings was the confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh.

For weeks prior to the vote, the news media, Democratic lawmakers, and feminist groups made life hell for Kavanaugh and for the country. The chaos began during Kavanaugh’s initial hearing on September 4, 2018. Senator Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) interrupted Chairman Charles Grassley’s opening remarks, talking over him as the longtime senator tried to introduce the nominee and his family. Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) quickly joined Harris’ harangue. “Mr. Chairman, I move to adjourn,” Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) demanded.

Activists seated in the hearing room loudly cheered then started to berate Grassley and Republican members of the committee. The mayhem lasted for several minutes as protesters were removed.

It was a harbinger of how vociferously, and violently in some instances, Democrats and their allies would fight Kavanaugh’s confirmation. That week, more than 200 people were arrested by U.S. Capitol Police, paid a minimal fine, and were released. Despite the uproar, Kavanaugh’s confirmation seemed almost certain.

But unsubstantiated stories about Kavanaugh’s behavior in high school, including accusations of sexual assault, were reported by the Washington Post and threatened to doom his ascendancy to the nation’s highest court. A dramatic showdown between Kavanaugh and his chief accuser, Christine Blasey Ford, during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on September 27, 2018 further inflamed both sides.

The siege of government buildings escalated. Republican senators were angrily confronted in elevators and outside government buildings. Some received death threats. The outrage was heavily fueled by Democratic leaders including Senator Elizabeth Warren. “Hello resistance!” Warren shouted to a raucous crowd assembled outside on October 4. “I am angry on behalf of women who have been told to sit down and shut up one time too many. This is about hijacking our democracy.”

Thousands heeded Warren’s call for action. “We were planning to shut down the Capitol Building but the authorities were so scared of this #WomensWave that they shut it down for us,” the official account of the Women’s March tweeted that day. “1000+ women, survivors, and allies have gathered in the Hart Senate Building. Every hallway. Every floor.”

When Pence announced on the afternoon of October 6, 2018 that Kavanaugh’s nomination was confirmed, women shouted from the Senate gallery and were removed.

The nation was roiled by the Kavanaugh fiasco for more than a month yet activists opposed to his nomination were considered heroes, not villains, by the national news media.

Protesters who defiled government buildings or harassed elected officials or scuffled with police were not considered “domestic terrorists.”

Democratic senators were not condemned as a “sedition caucus” for disrupting and delaying an official government hearing. To the contrary, theatrics by Harris and Warren elevated their public profile and helped launch their presidential bids the following year.

You well know I am definitely not open-minded about Trump. That goes all the way back to his early books on business. I was thinking I'd learn something useful for my business. Trump runs his business in New York, New Jersey, since they were run by The Mafia. I can't conjure who might think those tactics or practices would work in Tejas. Maybe CA, Chicago, MA, Twin Cities, MI, other places overrun with criminals.

I also conjured that his methods would not work for Balancing The Budget, which is the primary reason I never voted for him. Either when he was New York Liberal #1 or #2, or when he was up against the Muppethead.

‘Chilling’ text sent by pro-Trump Republican before Capitol riot suggests knowledge of what was to unfold, report says

A text message sent days before the attack on the Capitol is raising new questions about what members of Congress on Capitol Hill knew about how January 6 would play out before it occurred.

“If POTUS allows this to occur… we’re driving a stake in the heart of the federal republic,” read the text, described by The Post as having been sent by a member of the House Freedom Caucus, a far-right group of Republicans, who had “knowledge of the president’s planning for that day”.

What was the text referring to? Was it a coup attempt by an assault on the Capital? A coup attempt through Mike Pence refusing to declare the election for Biden, or both?

I have never seen a more obvious case of a Senator refusing to act responsibly.

In 2021 McConnell said about Trump impeachment for Jan 6th:
“We have no power to convict and disqualify a former officeholder who is now a private citizen.”

Disqualify means Trump can’t run again. According to 57 Senators, McConnell was lying about no power. McConnell does have the power to disqualify Trump, but it just so happened to be best for McConnell’s career to pretend powerlessness. McConnell fled from the responsibility to kill Trump’s career. A majority of Americans in positions of authority hesitate about responsibility, but they enthusiastically take the money and fame from those positions, which is why America isn't run very well.

The tweet that convinced Vice President Pence to declare Trump the Loser:

The only responsibility and power of the Vice President under the Constitution is to faithfully count the electoral college votes as they have been cast.

The Constitution does not empower the Vice President to alter in any way the votes that have been cast, either by rejecting certain of them or otherwise.

How the Vice President discharges this constitutional obligation is not a question of his loyalty to the President any more than it would be a test of a President's loyalty to his Vice President whether the President assented to the impeachment and prosecution of his Vice President for the commission of high crimes while in office.

No President and no Vice President would -- or should -- consider either event as a test of political loyalty of one to the other.

And if either did, he would have to accept that political loyalty must yield to constitutional obligation.

Neither the President nor the Vice President has any higher loyalty than to the Constitution.

Don't get over-confident, 6ix. Trump's political career would have ended if 10 Senators had been slightly braver.

Twelve Republicans, while voting against conviction because Trump was no longer president, explicitly deplored his behavior or assigned him some blame for the attack. One of the 12, Sen. Rob Portman, said Trump had violated his oath of office. These 12 senators, combined with the 57 who voted to convict, formed a two-thirds majority to condemn the former president.

What about the others? There’s a hard core of about 15 Republicans who have reached for any excuse, denounced any criticism of Trump, or concocted smears to deflect the evidence against him. It’s a shameful nest of apologists. Here’s how they rationalized their votes:

1. The evidence is fake. House impeachment managers documented their case with hours of video, as well as written comments from Trump and the Capitol assailants. Nevertheless, some senators refuse to accept any of it. “The entire House managers’ case is based on hearsay,” said Sen. Ted Cruz. “The trial record was a complete joke,” said Sen. Lindsey Graham. Even after Trump’s lawyers agreed to admit as evidence a written statement from a Republican congresswoman about an incriminating conversation with House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy, Graham dismissed her account.

2. Anyone who denounces Trump must be denounced. Graham and Johnson repeatedly castigated Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell for objecting to Trump’s conduct. In radio interviews over the weekend, Johnson said McConnell should “zip his lip” because his criticism of Trump “divides the Republicans.” Johnson also repudiated the Jan. 6 speech in which McConnell criticized Trump for lying about the election results. Meanwhile, in Fox News interviews, Graham complained that McConnell had “put a load on the back of Republicans” by making anti-Trump statements, to which other Republican senators would now have to respond.

12 Republican Senators said Trump was guilty but wouldn't convict him because it would damage their political careers. 7 more Republicans voted to convict because they weren't afraid of Trump but were afraid of looking like gullible fools to believe Trump's lies.

Attorney General Bill Barr launches blistering attack on Trump in new book

‘The absurd lengths to which he took his “stolen election” claim led to the rioting on Capitol Hill’

Before announcing that he was stepping down from his role early, in December 2020 – after Mr Trump’s election defeat but before the Capitol riot – the outgoing attorney general told the then-president that the Justice Department had seen no evidence of widespread fraud that could have affected the result of the election.

In his book, expected to be published on 8 March, Mr Barr recalls the reaction to his assessment. Mr Trump reportedly shouted: “This is killing me – killing me. This is pulling the rug right out from under me.”

“He stopped for a moment and then said, ‘You must hate Trump. You would only do this if you hate Trump.’”

Mr Barr then offered to resign. “Accepted!” Mr Trump yelled, banging his palm on the table. “‘Leave and don’t go back to your office. You are done right now. Go home!’” However, White House lawyers apparently persuaded Mr Trump not to accept the resignation offer.

As he has before, the two-time former attorney general – who also served under George HW Bush from 1991 to 1993 – blames Mr Trump for the Capitol riot on 6 January.

Sorry, Reaverfan. Letting everything burn is your Antifa clan's motto.

The Trump Presidency was great until Democrats worked with the Chinese to drop a new bug on the planet, and worked with the Legacy Media to pretend that it was something to worry about. Then there was two terrible years of eroding freedom that followed, all so they could change the election rules before election day because they knew Trump was going to destroy anybody he was up against and they wouldn't be able to have their war with Russia for another 4 years.

Everything this last year has been terrible. And they've lied about all of it.

What? 6ix, the orangutan, didn't sling its poo-poo at Warren Buffett for being a virtue-signaling multi-billionaire? Buffett had more to say in his 2021 annual report about not hiring jerks. Jerks is code for the kind of people who would vote for Trump. I hired many jerks because I got my start in the military and construction. I falsely believed I had to hire jerks because those jobs attract a majority of jerks. Buffett made it clear that his successful businesses avoided placing jerks into positions of authority. The result was that his businesses prospered. I sure wish I had learned that lesson sooner from Buffett about jerks and orangutans.

Another thing Buffett pointed out -- his taxes get paid, unlike Trump, and unlike tax cheating Trump voters I know who either brag about not paying or how little they pay, orangutan 6ix, for example. I've had dozens of employees whose problems with the IRS I unfortunately get to know about. The awful thing about those jerks is all those tax cheaters were Trump voters. I don't think that correlation is an accident.

It all makes sense that the jerks who would riot on Jan 6th and would lie about anything, cheat on anything, including taxes and voting and business deals, would also vote for Trump.

Warren Buffett Paying Taxes

Every year, Berkshire-Hathaway makes substantial federal income tax payments. In 2021, for example, we paid $3.3 billion while the U.S. Treasury reported total corporate income-tax receipts of $402 billion. Additionally, Berkshire pays substantial state and foreign taxes. “I gave at the office” is an unassailable assertion when made by Berkshire shareholders.

Berkshire’s history vividly illustrates the invisible and often unrecognized financial partnership between government and American businesses. Our tale begins early in 1955, when Berkshire Fine Spinning and Hathaway Manufacturing agreed to merge their businesses. In their requests for shareholder approval, these venerable New England textile companies expressed high hopes for the combination.

The Hathaway solicitation, for example, assured its shareholders that “The combination of the resources and managements will result in one of the strongest and most efficient organizations in the textile industry.” That upbeat view was endorsed by the company’s advisor, Lehman Brothers (yes, that Lehman Brothers).

I’m sure it was a joyous day in both Fall River (Berkshire) and New Bedford (Hathaway) when the union was consummated. After the bands stopped playing and the bankers went home, however, the shareholders reaped a disaster.

In the nine years following the merger, Berkshire’s owners watched the company’s net worth crater from $51.4 million to $22.1 million. In part, this decline was caused by stock repurchases, ill-advised dividends and plant shutdowns. But nine years of effort by many thousands of employees delivered an operating loss as well. Berkshire’s struggles were not unusual: The New England textile industry had silently entered an extended and non-reversible death march.

During the nine post-merger years, the U.S. Treasury suffered as well from Berkshire’s troubles. All told, the company paid the government only $337,359 in income tax during that period - a pathetic $100 per day.

Early in 1965, things changed. (Buffett took control in 1965) Berkshire installed new management that redeployed available cash and steered essentially all earnings into a variety of good businesses, most of which remained good through the years. Coupling reinvestment of earnings with the power of compounding worked its magic, and shareholders prospered.

Berkshire’s owners, it should be noted, were not the only beneficiary of that course correction. Their “silent partner,” the U.S. Treasury, proceeded to collect many tens of billions of dollars from the company in income tax payments. Remember the $100 daily? Now, Berkshire pays roughly $9 million daily to t

January 6 committee says Trump committed fraud and obstruction of justice

In a court filing seeking access to emails between President Trump and attorney John Eastman about the 2020 election, the January 6 Committee tipped its hand.

It will be the Department of Justice that ultimately decides what to do with all this evidence, which means a trial is a long way off even if they decide to go ahead with the charges against Trump. But where are they going to round up 12 impartial jurors? The moon?

In other trials run by America, Hermann Goring’s trial for one, justice operated very slowly. The Goring trial took 218 days because Goring pleaded Not Guilty. It is difficult to convict when the defendant won’t admit guilt. The prosecution had to submit numerous movies about the Death Camps. Göring found the contents of the films shocking; he said that the films must have been faked. Göring claimed to know nothing about what had happened. This didn’t work for the Nazi, because the jury wasn’t going to let a Nazi go free just because evidence was fake, but at least one juror in 12 would let Trump go free.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hermann_G%C3%B6ring#Trial_and_death

6ix, Trump will be fine, especially if you consider how hard the prosecution had to work in order to convict Hermann Goring. Goring avoided execution by bribing an American, 6ix. These things happen when so many Americans are easily corrupted by money. Trump has unlimited cash, while Goring only had a gold watch and cigarette case for a bribe.

Meme of the day: Trump is a dangerous stain on humanity, but of course I’d still vote for him

Asked by NBC News' Lester Holt whether he considered Trump "responsible" for the violence at the Capitol, Barr said: "I do think he was responsible in the broad sense of that word, in that it appears that part of the plan was to send this group up to the Hill. I think the whole idea was to intimidate Congress. And I think that that was wrong."

....But asked if he would vote for Trump if he wins the party nomination in 2024, Barr suggested he would. “Because I believe that the greatest threat to the country is the progressive agenda being pushed by the Democratic Party, it’s inconceivable to me that I wouldn’t vote for the Republican nominee,” he said.

Last Saturday at a rally in Florence, South Carolina, Donald Trump continued with his threats of violence. He suggested called for an existential battle against "critical race theory":

"Getting critical race theory out of our schools is not just a matter of values, it's also a matter of national survival. We have no choice…. The fate of any nation ultimately depends upon the willingness of its citizens to lay down — and they must do this — lay down their very lives to defend their country…. At recent rallies in Arizona and Texas, Trump made similar hints at a "race war". His threats are becoming ever clearer and less veiled: His suggestion that his followers must be willing to die in order to stop the imaginary threat of "critical race theory".

Michael Flynn, the former national security adviser and U.S. Army general, threatened violence against educators who resist the Republican moral panic over "critical race theory":

Election board members and other public officials, particularly including school board members, find themselves under siege by threats of violence and intimidation. Public opinion and other research has shown that millions of Trump supporters are willing to support political violence and terrorism in order to "save" their notion of "traditional" America.

Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio held without bond on Jan. 6 charges

Washington – Enrique Tarrio, leader of the far-right group the Proud Boys, will remain jailed pending trial, a magistrate judge in Florida ordered Tuesday. Tarrio was indicted for conspiracy and other charges related to the assault on the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.

He was arrested in Miami last week after a superseding indictment was handed up by a Washington, D.C., grand jury that included five other Proud Boys members who were previously charged in relation to January 6.

After reading these increasingly extreme comments from Trump & Co., it's clear to me that Trump is not running for a second term (again). It's just a money grab. One thing he still has is a pretty savvy marketing team, at least when it comes to identifying and fleecing idiots. The more angry and desperate the follower, the more they are motivated to give more of their money to Trump. Fill in whatever blind grotch they've been told to have, ramp it up, and they'll write the check. Trouble with that is as the rhetoric gets more extreme, the more it alienates moderate republicans and the voting base gets smaller. The conclusion: raise more money now, but lose voters and lower the chances of winning.

The 2016 Republican Presidential primary had Trump at 44.9% and Ted Cruz, runner-up, 25.1%.

Captaincrunch, I hope you are wrong. I hope it is Trump running for President in 2024, rather than Ted Cruz, who would definitely run in the GOP primary if Trump decides not to. Easily, Ted Cruz is crazier than Trump, but Cruz is unknown to most people, except for Texans like me, and because of that, Cruz is more likely to win against Biden than Trump would. It may be hard for you to believe, but I believe President Cruz could do far more damage to the USA than fat, dumb Trump could in a second term.

‘The runner-up is almost always the next nominee’: Cruz says he’s well-positioned for 2024. Asked whether he would consider launching another White House bid, the senator responded: “Absolutely. In a heartbeat.”

It should make feel good to hear that most of the people I know up here in the midwest think Cruz is a complete idiot. I generally don't mix with Trumpers, though, so who knows.
My guess would be DeSantis having a bigger chance for the nominee. 6 of one, half dozen of the other. I would consider him as big a threat for blowing up this country through incompetence just like Cruz. It's a pick 'em.

So that's the GOP sorted. My bigger fear is:

1. who the Dem nominee will be (right now, fck), and
2. will the GOP be better at stealing the election this time around? They came within a gnat's whisker last time. One thing you can say about them is they are persistent.

Donald Trump's phone log on January 6, 2021, goes suddenly silent for 7 hours and 37 minutes starting when Trump addressed the rally to overturn the vote and continuing through the attack on the Capitol. Shortly after the rioters were finally cleared, the phone logs once again list calls to and from Trump. A federal judge in California ruled Monday that Donald Trump’s legal adviser, John Eastman, must release about 100 emails to the House Jan. 6 Committee. In doing so, the judge wrote that Mr. Trump “more likely than not” committed crimes related to Jan. 6.

“Based on the evidence, the Court finds it more likely than not that President Trump corruptly attempted to obstruct the Joint Session of Congress on January 6, 2021.”

This is the most formal effort to link the former president to a federal crime. However, Lawmakers do not have the power to bring criminal charges on their own.

I'd win a bet that Trump won't be fine. He will be killed and the white trash of America will mourn. The odds can be estimated. Four presidents were assassinated. Compare four to one: Grover Cleveland was the one president to serve two non-consecutive terms. That suggests Trump is four times more likely to be assassinated than to serve two non-consecutive terms. Three murdered Presidents were Republicans: Abraham Lincoln in 1865, James A. Garfield in 1881, and William McKinley in 1901. The one slain Democrat was John F. Kennedy. That suggests Trump is three times more likely to be assassinated than Biden. Putin is also in an unsafe job – four Russian Tsars were brutally murdered before 1917. Keep on saying Trump will be fine if it makes you feel like a winner, 6ix, but the historic days are coming when he and Putin won't be anything more than dead meat.

You say there was no coup attempt. I say there was no assassination attempt, but there could be! And there would be benefits for the wealthy if Trump died in office. Here is how that worked with the Kennedy assassination. In case you don't know, laws benefiting the poor couldn't get passed in the Senate of JFK's time because the Dixiecrats, Southern Democrats in name only, wouldn't vote for such.

The assassination of JFK made it possible to pass legislation such as Medicare. A grief filled Senate passed laws that would never have passed if President Kennedy were alive. Who knows what legislation would only pass when Trump is dead and the Senate is once again filled with grief? If Trump’s V.P. is Senator Ted Cruz (JFK’s V.P. was Senator LBJ, the Master of the Senate) President Ted Cruz could get passed legislation that would never pass while Trump is President. Maybe a cap on income tax could get passed where nobody pays more than a million per year. Trump couldn’t pass such legislation because he paid no taxes, but President Cruz could. The advantage of that income tax cap is that the rich won’t have to cheat anymore. They send in one check each year for a million and never again have to use marginally illegal tax avoidance schemes. I won’t vote for Trump/Cruz but I would be pleased when Trump is dead and President Cruz reduces my taxes. MAGA!

Posts such as the one above pair very nicely with the posts you made about killing Trump and feeding his body to the pigs, confident you knew how to get away with it.

That's the problem with posting under two handles on a site, Second. We both know that you intended to make that one with the Reaverfan handle, but the archives don't lie.

I know you tried so hard to delete the evidence of that one, but don't worry buddy... I've got it for you.

The White House presidential phone log shows a seven-hour gap in the record of his communications Jan 6th.

The gap’s importance is difficult to exaggerate. The evidence of Trump’s criminal intent with regard to his efforts to overturn the 2020 election is building, day by day, so relentlessly that at this point, a failure to prosecute becomes tantamount to a negation of the rule of law’s first principle—that no person “stands above the law.”

Why is the gap so significant? If, as some analysts have hypothesized, Trump is so detached from the factual world that he actually believed his own Big Lie that the 2020 election was marred by fraud, that would make conviction for trying to steal the election difficult. Under this analysis, he would not have thought he was acting “wrongfully,” a necessary element for conviction on the charges to which he is most vulnerable.

Hiding one’s calls and conduct on Jan. 6, 2021, as Trump did, rebuts his potential defense that he thought he was acting righteously. People who believe that their behavior is law-abiding do not cover it up in this way.

Your reply has nothing to do with my quote, as per usual.

I figured I'd take this time to remind you yet again that all the dark bullshit you've ever posted since I've sobered up is archived, and it paints quite a picture of just who you are.

Pair that with everything you posted under your Reaverfan persona and it's amazing what a piece of shit you are.

And yes. You ARE Reaverfan. I have receipts.

Lie about that one all you'd like, but just know that I know.

The Clearest Evidence Yet of Donald Trump’s Criminal Intent on Jan. 6
https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2022/03/trump-phone-records-gap-cr
iminal-intent.html

Dennis Aftergut wrote: I’m a former federal prosecutor, and one of my favorite jury instructions, when the evidence against a white-collar criminal supported it, covered consciousness of guilt: “If you believe that Trump sought to conceal evidence, then you may consider this conduct, along with all the other evidence, in deciding whether he thought he was guilty of the crime charged and was trying to avoid punishment.

Trump using alternate means of communication over five or six hours, including others’ phones or potentially “burner phones,” to avoid calls being logged would justify such an instruction to the jury.

Importantly, such a subterfuge would also circumvent a legal obligation, adding to the evidence of corrupt intent. Under the Presidential Record Act, the president has a duty to “take all such steps as may be necessary to assure that the activities, deliberations, decisions, and policies that reflect the performance of the President’s … official or ceremonial duties are adequately documented.” On Jan. 6, Trump did not.

In apparent response to the Washington Post story, Trump has denied using a “burner phone” of the kind that his allies bought with untraceable cash and used that day. Tellingly, however, there is no report that Trump denied using others’ phones.

Bob Woodward told John King that he got to know Trump very well during his many hours interviewing him during the 2020 campaign, and that Trump is a phone “addict.” Woodward said that the notion Trump stopped using the phone during the multi-hour gap period was as unlikely as “the sun not rising” tomorrow.

The Post’s report about the length of the gap in White House records adds significantly to the already overwhelming evidence of Trump’s criminal intent.

Judge David O. Carter explicitly addressed the matter of Trump’s likely knowledge of wrongdoing, writing “this evidence demonstrates that President Trump likely knew the electoral count plan had no factual justification.

Pointedly, Carter concluded, “If Dr. Eastman and President Trump’s plan had worked, it would have permanently ended the peaceful transition of power, undermining American democracy and the Constitution.”

Justice Dept. Widens Jan. 6 Inquiry to Range of Pro-Trump Figures

Federal prosecutors have substantially widened their Jan. 6 investigation to examine the possible culpability of a broad range of figures involved in former President Donald J. Trump’s efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election, people familiar with the inquiry said on Wednesday.

You wouldn't be excited about the FBI soon putting handcuffs on Trump if you looked at the history of major white collar criminals. For example: Bernie Madoff – $20 billion theft. The Feds knew something was wrong for decades, but didn't arrest him until his own sons turned him in. Unless Trump's sons sit down with prosecutors and explain over and over until those chicken-heart prosecutors are absolutely certain they have a guaranteed conviction of Trump, nothing bad will happen to Trump.

You and I know that Trumptards think Trump is innocent. You and I know Trump is guilty as hell, but if you know of any examples in American history where politicians had swift downfalls that could be described as "the wait is over" please list the names. The actual legal process is slow and unpredictable. Years go by between the crime, the indictment, conviction, sentencing, appeals, imprisonment. With Trump, the indictments have NOT even been made. What we need is imprisonment and I doubt that will happen on a predictable schedule. If you want swift justice, you will have to depend on Trump being assassinated at his Ku Klux Klan rallies. There will be two rallies in April. If no assassin energetically hurries the process, you will just have to wait years before some lethargic prosecutor sends Trump to prison.

What I want SECOND is about as insignificant as a Nat on a fly’s ass. What I want suits me and differs greatly from how the process works. In this instance it depends on whether or not in Trumps circumstance, they have an air tight case. Again two, nothing I’m not aware of.

As for researching this and that from history, that’s what you’re good at.

A jury on Thursday convicted the Jan. 6 defendant Dustin Thompson on all six charges he faced. The verdict was the third conviction in three jury trials for the Jan. 6th riot.

After the verdict, U.S. District Court Judge Reggie Walton tore into Trump for his efforts to dupe supporters into believing the election was stolen.

“I think our democracy is in trouble because, unfortunately, we have charlatans like our former president who doesn’t, in my view, really care about democracy but only about power,” Walton said.

But he reserved his harshest comments for Thompson, whom he described as “weak-minded” and part of a “gullible” throng of Trump backers who couldn’t separate Trump's claims from reality.

Jason Sullivan, a right-wing communications specialist and former associate of Republican political consultant Roger Stone, held a call one week before the January 6 Capitol storming in which he urged Trump supporters to go to the Capitol to make lawmakers "sweat" about certifying President Joe Biden's 2020 election win.

Sullivan encouraged Trump supporters to "descend on the Capitol" as part of a plan to put "pressure" on lawmakers to block the election's certifications.

He expected then-President Donald Trump to put a "limited form of martial law" in place on January 6, 2021.

“If we make the people inside that building sweat and they understand that they may not be able to walk in the streets any longer if they do the wrong thing, then maybe they’ll do the right thing,” Sullivan said.

A House select committee investigating the January 6 riot has focused on whether any planning or organizing led to the mob of Trump supporters breaching the Capitol, and the Justice Department has separately brought charges against more than 700 people allegedly involved in the riot.

In the immediate hours after the January 6, 2021, attack on the US Capitol, then-Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell was optimistic that the violent riot had finally discredited former President Donald Trump, according to two New York Times reporters.

"I feel exhilarated by the fact that this fellow finally, totally discredited himself," McConnell told the New York Times reporter Jonathan Martin in the hours after the attack, adding that Trump "was pretty thoroughly discredited by this."

"He (Trump) put a gun to his (own) head and pulled the trigger," McConnell said while standing in a doorway of the Capitol after the Capitol riot. "Couldn't have happened at a better time."

McConnell added that Trump, whom he hasn't spoken to since December 2020, was "despicable".

That's according to an excerpt from "This Will Not Pass: Trump, Biden, and the Battle for America's Future," a forthcoming book from Jonathan Martin and his fellow Times reporter Alex Burns, that was published by The Washington Post on Monday.
