Oh happy day
Wednesday, April 6, 2005

Well, its a lovely day here in Northern Virginia. It was so nice this morning that I threw open my bedroom windows, put on some Big Audio Dynamite (Rush)and danced a little jig in my pajamas. Any day started in such a fashion is bound to be a good one. The rest of this semester, with the exception of finals week, will be relatively easy, so I can breathe a great big sigh of relief. Ahhhh...

By the way, did anyone take me up on my suggestion to watch "Equillibrium" with Christian Bale? I really do what to know what you all think. I mean, Christian Bale and Taye Diggs in the same movie? Talk about eye candy. Plus the fight scenes were really cool.

Equilibrium was kindof a Matrix takeoff. (or was it the other way around)... but, being a diehard matrix fan I was impressed with the fighting, but the story was just a little tooooo familiar....

But the shexney eye candy made up for everything that was wrong!

I thought it was awesome. Being a big Sean Bean fan (006! Boromir! That guy from Patriot Games!) and all. And I liked Bale's character. He needed no drugs to close off the emotions when needed, a la the final battle. Which was awesome. And the Gun Kata is so cool! We wants to learns it precious! And the clothes. The tunics the Grammaton Clerics wore were pretty cool. And they're called Clerics. And I'm a big D&D nut.

I never finished watching Equilibrium when I rented it from Netflix. Don't know if I'll ever give it another chance.

I must admit I was rather 'meh' about Equilibrium. The ideas in it are rather worn in sci-fi and the fight scenes felt like a shameless lift from the Matrix. Still, always good to see totalitarian governments get destroyed.
