There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.
Born, raised, and unfortunately living again in Waco, Texas. I'm the webmaster of templetongate.net, where I and others have been posting reviews of SF/F books, films and television shows (including Firefly and Serenity) for the past fourteen years. You can email me at e_c_gordon@hotmail.com or send a PM through the fff.net system. And BTW, I'm a guy. I got the man-parts to prove it. :-)

MY TWO SENTENCE SERENITY REVIEW
Friday, September 30, 2005 1:59:39 AM
On another board I frequent one of the regulars said that she wasn't interested in a movie that couldn't be described in two sentences. So this is what I came up with. Serenity is a movie based on a canceled (not failed , don't ever use that word) Fox tv series from 2002, one which told the story of outcasts in a new terraformed solar system, who traveled the 'verse looking for work, legal or illegal, just to keep out of the way of the totalitarian Alliance, the system wide government which has ruled with an iron hand ever since they defeated a movement for independence by individual planets. The title of the film is taken from the name of the spaceship manned by this eclectic crew of adventurers, but the film itself is anything but serene, in fact it is one of the most intense cinematic experiences I have ever witnessed, one that I think I will grow to love more and more each time I see it, and one which I believe any lover of good films can enjoy even if they are not normally science fiction fans, mainly because the writer and director, Joss Whedon, has created such great characters and situations that most people should have no difficulty identifying with. And here's another two sentence blurb: Serenity kicks ass! So does River.
