New observation while watching my boxset

So I'm going through my Firefly DVDs for about the hundreth viewing when I start thinking that Simon reminds my of someone. It took me several episodes to put it together but Sean Maher bears a not so passing resemblance to the actor who plays Sylar on Heroes . Didn't come to me right away because the characters are so diametrically opposed but then I started noticing similarites in their physical mannerisms and speech patterns. Anyone else getting this or am I reaching here?

Definitely some similarities. Not to mention that nothing goes smooth for anyone on "Heroes."

when i was watching the first episode where they showed sylar, i actually thought it was simon, it really creeped me out and then i realized that i was wrong...

A little bit, yeah.

Every time I see Nathan Fillion, I'm reminded of Jason Bateman.

They both look a little similar, and both starred in highly under-appreciated shows that were just too shiny for television.
