Inara on Wash

The narrator remains rather anonymous, but I wrote it with Inara in mind.

CATEGORY: FICTION    TIMES READ: 1955    RATING: 8    SERIES: FIREFLY

Few know it, but he was the stability of Serenity. Not only did he pilot her brilliantly on a hundred different missions, but he held the crew together too. It was his trusting innocence, of that I'm sure. He softened Zoe quicker than anyone. She who is an always was hard as a rock for everyone else. He certainly softened Mal. Mal used to be much coarser. But he opened up a great bit under Wash's influence. He took the Tams under his protection. I don’t think he would have done that before Wash came along. I not sure exactly how Wash was able to do it. He always had ways to make people laugh and feel at ease, but he was decidedly serious when it came to doing what needed to be done. It's true he was the best pilot I've ever seen. And everyone could trust him simply because he himself chose to be so trusting. He believed in the good of all people and of the preservation of that good. He even brought some good out of Jayne. Actually, it really isn’t all that hard. Others did it too. But Wash did certainly have a knack to cheer anybody up and find the best in every situation. He was fiercely loyal to his wife.

Anyhow, what I'm trying to say is that he was the backbone of the crew. He was serenity. The center point. His lightheartedness was calming. It allowed everyone to work together for so long. That is all but gone now…

I like this take on Wash as the backbone of the crew is good. The sadness at the end is pretty moving too.

Memories of Snow
I never state the name, but it's an easy guess. It came to me after watching The Message. He talks about the dreams he had of his parents.

Momentum Chapter Three
Long-awaited continuation of a (still) unfinished tale. Wash centric. Read the first two chapters here: http://www.fireflyfans.net/bluesun.aspx?bid=10333 and here: http://www.fireflyfans.net/bluesun.aspx?bid=10354

A really short ficlet. Jayne's POV. (I'm writing again! Actually, I've just typed up some things I wrote during class last semester. I've a few more at http://www.fanfiction.net/u/652052/)

Betrayal
Mal's thoughts at Serenity Valley. Who's he most angry at, the Alliance or the Independents?

Smell
Inara reflects on the smell of Mal's browncoat. Very short, possibly will be continued.

Rocket
Wash-sadness. Zoe POV. I can't let the deathfic go.

Stranger
Watched the BDM. Got ideas. Wrote for the first time in a god bit. Mal, River, during the BDM.

Trip Wire
I watched the BDM today. This is a scene from it. Zoe's pov, dialogue from the script.

Stream
Yay! I wrote again. First in a long time. I think I wrote this from Kaylee's perspective, at least in Kaylee vernacular, but I'm not really sure why. I know it's short and prolly not very Kaylee, but I wrote. I also don't really know what it's about. Comment as you like.

The Chair (round 2)
Conpanion piece to my last post. Rive stream of consciousness. More post BDM Wash missing.
