BLUE SUN ROOM FAN FICTION - GENERAL
Wash-sadness. Zoe POV. I can't let the deathfic go.
CATEGORY: FICTION TIMES READ: 2623 RATING: 9 SERIES: FIREFLY
It was so simple, but it was the hardest thing in the world. She took small steps, measuring each, willing her feet to hold her up. The long hem of her dress dances and silent dance with the pebbly ground. She kept her eyes straight ahead, couldn’t bear to look at the others. The taper in her hand sparked and fizzled quietly. But even its small sound was harsh in her ears. She approached the monuments. Three of them, placed near each other. And a fourth with a waiting rocket. She dared not study any of the monuments too hard. But she knew full well what each holographic vid portrayed. She glanced at the first one, she couldn’t resist, though it pained her.
The face looking back at her was boyish and grinned in a way she knew so well. That grin nearly made her fall to her knees. He had grinned last. Right before. He had said something she couldn’t begin to repeat and he had grinned. But it was over before he could so much as grimace. She liked it that way. He should always be grinning. She on the other hand doubted she'd ever grin again.
She touched the burning taper to the fuse on the little rocket. It shot into the air, carrying with it the scribbled notes from those who loved the three. The explosion was small in the evening sky. No more than a muffled pop that resonated around the lavender hills.
She bowed her head.
