BLUE SUN ROOM FAN FICTION - GENERAL
Rough, but my Wash muse is back for a bit. Sparked by reading the comics.
CATEGORY: FICTION TIMES READ: 2003 RATING: 7 SERIES: FIREFLY
It's true I fell in love with Serenity at first sight. But it was more than that. Yes. Because I fell in love with more than just the boat.
It was a Firefly. The memory of my first trip to the flight museum rushed back to me. It had the same stylish swooping lines as the heap I'd seen so many years before. I didn’t want to appear too eager, wanted to get all I could first.
I was a hot enough pilot that I could have gotten a job flying an Alliance cruiser or a luxury liner. And I'da gotten paid a helluva lot more too. But the promise of adventure drew me. The ship itself drew me. But above all she drew me. I simply couldn’t refuse the job.
She was a stone. But irresistible. I gave her my rakish grin as often as possible, the one that had most womenfolk falling all over me, but she remained aloof. Even feigned ignorance of my entire person. Perhaps, in the end, it was the hunt that drew me. And the mighty hunter captured the quarry. She was a stone, but I softened her. Well, at least the edges.
So that's it. I'm here, flyin' for Mal. Flyin' the best ship in the 'verse. Flyin' right along side my very own wife. I wouldn’t trade this for a steady, high-paying job with the Alliance. No gorram way.
