He gave up so much for me. I mean, the man coulda got a high-paying job flying a cruiser. He coulda been rich. But he chose to fly for Mal. Because of me. He was daily put in danger with us as he flew. He coulda been safe on some luxury liner. But he was with Serenity. Because of me. I feel so very lucky and proud, but also a bit distressed. He deserved more, man like him. Coulda gone so far. Been famous. But not so much. He loved what he did. Loved Serenity. Loved the things Mal put him through. Loved me. And we all loved him right back. Even Serenity. I don’t think no Alliance cruiser could top that. So I guess I'm more proud than distressed. He died for us here. Died for me. Died for love. He'd never have it any other way.
