BLUE SUN ROOM FAN FICTION - GENERAL
Book compares himself to Mal. Short. But that's how I like it.
CATEGORY: FICTION TIMES READ: 1950 RATING: SERIES: FIREFLY
I looked at the young man and saw myself behind his blue eyes. Not necessarily how I used to be, but how I am now. I saw a man beaten but still standing. Whereas I had turned to God, this man had turned against Him. The resolve was the same, though. We stood for similar ideals. A higher sort of nobility that neither of us would ever openly admit. We both focused on getting by, not on the circumstances of the long run. Neither of us were idealist, but I more than he. We both made light of things when perhaps it was not the proper course. So similar in so many ways. I was as drawn to him as I was the ship. I wanted to see how this other me could cope. What I realized was that the real me could not. I don’t know what he has that I don’t, but he can endure much more. I felt my resolve fading. So I made a new resolve. And I left.
