The four ideals of the Guild

AN: I wanted to play with the four bohemian ideals mentioned in the movie Moulin Rouge. Plus, it gives me an excuse to have El Tango de Roxanne as the music - which utterly suits for Mal and Inara. I'm playing with structure here, so bear with me.

Truth. A Companion must always speak her truth. She must never be ashamed of who she is.

Beauty. A Companion must not just be beautiful. She must be Beauty Incarnate.

Freedom. A Companion must have the freedom to choose. She must never belong to another.

Love. A Companion must only exist for others to love. She herself must never fall in love.

***** Truth. She did not want to be who she had been. She wanted to be more.

Beauty. She did not want to be Beauty Incarnate. She wanted to be real.

Freedom. She did not want to choose another. She wanted to be his.

Love. She did not want to merely exist. She wanted to love.
