Sleep was just starting to wrap him in its warm Abyss when Rivers Voice comming from his bunk Comm chimed dragging him to reality. Malcom Reynolds sat up slowly rubbing his eyes and trying to shake the mist from his head that the cup of Kaylee's inter engine fermentation brew had draped across his brain.

"Captain Daddy, new old friend on on the Cortex wanting to converse with you." Rivers tinny voice announced from the small speaker.

"Teach me for trying a drink to get some Sleep, Guess a Captains work is never done..."

Fumbling to the comm station by his bunk ladder he managed to hit the switch.

"I will be up in a minute 'Tross"

He threw on a t-shirt, grabbed his pants and pulled up his suspenders before climbing up to the deck and walking slowly to the bridge yawning and rubbing his hands through his hair trying to clear the fuzz from his brain. He sat down in the just vacated pilots chair hitting the switch for the Comm.

"Wei" he said gruffly, puzzled as to why he was staring into the face of a Shepard.

"Am I speaking to Captain Reynolds?" the wisened old face asked.

"You are, and if you are looking for a convert it does not help in one bit that you have woken me from the precious little sleep I have been getting lately. How did you get this adress and what do you want?" Despite his affection for Shepard Book he had no love for religiousity and he meant his brusque attitude to show it.

"Captain Reynolds I am sorry to disturb your rest, but I have a package for you. A package that you will want to have." the old Shepard drew a deep breath and blew it out. "You see, it is from Shepard Book."

Mal's hand dropped from rubbing his eyes to his lap and he sat for a long breath before responding, a puzzled look on his face.

"Huh."
