Weird So Cal sighting
Sunday, October 24, 2004

Okay. I was bored. And inspired by the image Bojesphob made of Serenity flying over Chicago. As far as quality...it's been really, really, really long time since I did anything in Photoshop. It probably shows...

and we shall call this place "Hollywood Land" ;)

It fits in nicely - always best to work at twice the size you want, that way it`s easier to cover up any little issues :)

This is fantastic! I didn't even see Serenity at first, she blends in so well.

Thanks everyone. The blending was the big thing I was worried about (I'll try working at twice the size in the future, thanks Zol). Well, that and the scale of Serenity. I took some liberties there :-)

Oh man, Serenity landed in my neighborhood and I didn't see her??!!!

Damn my inevitable not being there at the right moment...

Good job.

Thanks, 11thHour! That just makes my month! (I'm a big fan of your work that I've seen on this site).

And YT, I'm not sure exactly which street the picture was shot from (could be Beachwood Drive but I thought that was a bit further away - it's been years since I 've driven around that area at the base of the sign).

This is just a companion to my latest blog entry. It's a screen cap of Haken's site that was the direct ancestor of this one (courtest of the http://www.archive.org wayback machine).

Oh, mon dieu! La main de bleu.
There were several failed attempts by the creators of the Blue Hands. I was amazed to stumble across one of the earliest. This little-known portrait shows exactly what Napolean was hiding underneath his clothes. Some of the lessons learned from this early experiment were that it was necessary for both hands to be covered, the person should not be a prominent leader, it was better to have people working in pairs, and "two by two, hands of blue" was a much cooler slogan. (Apologies to anyone fluent in French for what I am sure is a very bad attempt at a rhyme).

Those ancient Egyptians thought of everything
I was just looking through pictures of the excavation of King Tut's tomb and I noticed something I hadn't seen before. There are three very familiar looking artifacts in the antechamber. After doing some computer enhancement I verified my suspicions. Looks like the catalyzer was a lot more important than most people (Mal included) thought.

Oops. Sorry 'bout that
For anyone who took a course in engineering vibrations this is a very familiar picture. I was playing around with the idea that Wash wasn't paying too much attention to where he was going one day and the results speak for themselves. It definitely didn't come out quite the way I envisioned it, but I think it gets the point across.
