Sony has released the long-awaited 2.0 firmware for the Playstation Portable. This upgrade adds a web browser to the PSP, but more importantly, it allows you to easily customize the PSP background with your own images...I made this wallpaper from images found here.

How hard was it to put on? Did it cause any problems?

"How hard was it to put on? Did it cause any problems?"

The hardest part was making the image, really (or at least the most time consuming). Everything else was easy.

Once I had the correctly sized image, I simply connected the PSP to my computer via USB cable, moved the image to the memory stick inside the PSP, and that's it.

Then I just browsed to the image in the PSP's photo browser, selected "set as wallpaper" from the options, and voila!

Be careful if you do any homebrew software on it, the new firmware will wipe it out.

After making the Serenity PSP Wallpaper, I really wished I had some way of adorning my PSP with more Serenity goodness. Along came the MyTego website ( http://www.mytego.com ). MyTego allows you to create custom vinyl decals for the PSP and other handheld devices, even using your own images.

Since someone asked for the original image, here you go. This image is formatted to fit the Playstation Portables screen, and the image is darkened so as not to interfere with the PSP's menu text. I had to convert the image from a .BMP to a .JPG in order to upload it, but the compression is very low, so there should be no loss in image quality.
