Sheperd's prayer...
Monday, March 20, 2006

As a Christian, teacher and soldier, I've always truly loved this prayer that Sheperd Book used. Given the utter turmoil in my life as of late, I find myself saying it over and over. I thought it would be an appropriate NOT "Tongue-in-cheek" addition to the church signage.

A preacher (not my father) once told me that the Lord may give us more than we want to bear, but never more than we can bear. Our prayers are with you, Static.

Hey, static... You probably already know this, being spiritually-inclined, but good words are always repeatedly...

God always hears our prayers. The trick is being still enough to hear His answers.
In my faith, we petition God directly, in prostration {hamds & knees, head on the ground} and in times of dire need, as late at night or in early a.m. as possible, when it's totally quiet. Prostration creats humility in the soul and opens the door to our receptivity to His Grace & Mercy.
I know. Been there, Done that.
Peace & blessings of God be upon you.
