Mappin' The 'Verse: Take 2

Again sorry for the size. Lotta info to include. I've updated some of the rim worlds to better reflect events/screens from the movie. Big assumption being that Burnham quadrant refers to a planet called Burnham around which our mystery planet orbits...

Those would be some pretty chilly planets out there O.o keep in mind theres 9 planets in out solar system and the last like 4 or so, even if they were solid, would be uninhabitable due to distance from any heat source. Maybe Miranda is that little questionmarked one out there? lol jk, its more out of the way I think...right?

I didn't want to spoil anything for those who haven't seen the movie so it's an intentional vagueness. But a guess that Miranda's in the neighborhood of the ??? wouldn't be incorrect.

So one thing Joss has stated pretty consistently is that these planets and moons are packed in close, that it's a dense planetary cluster, so while our own Solar system might have hundreds of millions of miles between orbits, this one might have just tens of millions. If you look again at "The Train Job" look at how close those moons are behind Mal after he gets thrown through the "window."

No wonder the estates on Bellerophon are floating in the sky - the gravitational forces of so many celestial bodies in close orbit would create massive tides. It would also explain why we didn't see many coastal communities.

As an aside, where was Mr. Universe located? My friend has my copy of Serenity (sniff, sniff).

Great layout.

As far as the far-out planets being too cold to be hospitible, it really depends on the physics of their orbit.

This may be getting a little deeper than what is called for, but certain moons, previously thought to be too far from the Sun, even in our system, have the ability to generate their own, "internal" heat sources, just from the "bob and weave" affect of their orbit, creating friction in their cores.

May I have permission to use this map for a school project? I'll certainly give you credit for it, but I don't have the skill or time to create my own, nor is it required. Thanks!

Mappin' The 'Verse
Sorry for the size. Trying to come up with an order of the planets in the 'verse as a single star system. Traced the image behind River's teacher's head from the movie. I'd love any feedback about placement.

What Is River Writing?
So I'm bad at math, and only a little better at PhotoShop. Can anyone read this?
