'professional' is not spelled with three 'S'es. You have an effed up dictionary.

I'm not sure what's more insulting.

The fact that you'd go to such lengths to manufacture a lie;

Or that you expect us to buy it.

It's quite obvious that you've made that up. Everyone knows it's two s's,

You made a mistake, that's cool, no one will hold that against you.

What's not cool is covering it up like you have.

Just admit you were wrong, because I can garuantee you that there's no dictionary that will spell it with 3 s's.

Oh and before you ask, I've checked my three dictionaries at home and several online dictionary. All two s's.

SIMONWHO

Professional has just two s's. That looks like a rhyming dictionary which breaks words down into syllables, hence pro-fess-sion-al.

Sorry but you missspelt.

MIRAMEL

lucas, i don't know anything about the relavence (yea, i prolly spelled that wrong didn't i?) of any of that, but come on now, isn't it just as likely that railean has a missprinted dictionary then that eh would actually go to all that trouble? yeah, sure, its perfectly possible, but come on now, who WOULD? im sure he just looked it up in there the first time 'round, and never checked another one.

ASARIAN

Hi Railean. No, the book is wrong. This whole conclusion is fallacious.

"profess" (see the previous entry in your book, btw), past participle of the verb profiteri, "to declare publicly; to practise". In the Latin.

Perhaps there was a second shooter, hid behind the fence on the grassy knoll, but definitely no third s. :) Sorry, dude.

ASARIAN

I'm with Miramel, btw; I do not believe, not for one moment, that Railean faked anything. Browncoats aren't like that. She just stumbled on a backbirth dictionary, and was naive enough not to double-check. Fortunately, naivity is not a sin. :) Next time, just postpone the evil laugh until you're sure of your facts.

My brain hurts.

And I should know.

DONCOAT

I can think of no English word, other than compound or hyphenated words, that contain three of the same letter in a row.

Any letter, not just 's'.

The closest thing would be a "sound effect" like 'Zzz' to represent snoring, but that's not an actual word.

AGENTRUSCO

y'know what? I'm smellin' a whole lotta animosity commin' off this post... I think it is the most perfect thing in the world that the picture has three 's's. It is most amazingly fitting. Look the word up online. Really. Do.

Shucks - I just found it funny. Obviously on a different plane here....

KAYNA

There are dictionaries with typoes now and then and SimonWho could also be right so Lucas, please don't be so hostile about it.

And I agree with AgentRusco. It fits the pic so no problem.

TARRISH

I don't believe Railean is trying to pull a fast one on us. Mistakes happen right? :) I'm sure she just thought she had proven herself right and was a little over excited to show everyone.

Goes to show you the written word isn't always right. :D

TAYEATRA

Mis-printed dictionary is not unusual.

Oh, and Lucas... If you're having a go at someone else over spelling then you should really spell check your own post!

'garuantee'... I think not! (Guarantee)

Eh, don't take it personally. You took the time to look up a word that you needed help on, and you were given false info. It's not like that sort of thing doesn't happen to everyone.
I'm impressed that you looked it up in the first place. I usually just spell word incorrectly and let the readers muddle thorugh it.

LUCASHARPER

When I'm wrong, I admit.

Hence this post.

I was over zealous, and as someone pointed out, I can't spell for crap myself.

I do apologise to Railean first and foremost. You are very right. A simple point about the dictionary would have been enough.

To everyone else, I also extend my apologies. I was way outta line. I wasn't acting like a Browncoat and for that I am sorry.

Hi Railean,

It just occured to me, that your whole graphic is one giant self-reference for the makers of your dictionary, allegedly professionals: "Yes, even they mess up now and then. :)

Keep up the shiny work!

LWAVES

Gotta agree that professional has just two of the letter s.
Must be a gorram Alliance dictionary telling us all how to spell.

For those that don't think dictionary's can have typos or errors then you are wrong. There are lots of American dictionary's that have colour spelt as color. They are all wrong too!!

Just making light of the issue.

Thank you Lucas for the appology. That was very big of you. You showed that you are a true browncoat. And I will admit that I was a little too hyper when I thought I was right.

It's just that it happens so infrequently that i get happy when I think i am right.

And asarian I never thought of it like that. That is a great way too look at it.

lwaves that is too funny.
