Digital River
Sunday, April 30, 2006

Created in Poser 5. Using Daz3D's Victoria 3 model with face and body morphs. Digital River here is my first attempt at doing a real person (I'm mostly known for doing superhero renders). Let me know what you think.

I also think the forehead ought to be just a teensy bit lower, but other than that? PERFECT!! Calls to mind my favourite image of Summer... *dreamy sigh*

Hey, shiny! I could tell who it was right away from the thumbnail. Good likeness, especially if you put it together in Poser.

This looks amazing - that pose on the right is so River-esque. One note of critique - she needs eyelashes!

Definitely an aptitude for... Her whole body, shoulders, neck, very very good. The face is, of course, the hardest. Keep tweakin'! Certainly the most impressive 3D job I've seen so far.

That is fantastic.

I use Poser myself and know how hard it can be to get a look just right. And the hair is ALWAYS difficult.
There are skull caps (search for Kozaburo's website) around that might work for the hair problem - makes it look like hair is actually on the skin and not just sticking out of it.

Just a suggestion but you might want to alter the mouth slightly as it looks like she is pursing her lips (maybe that was the look you went for). Could try closing the mouth so no teeth are showing.

Are you planning on making the face/morphs available. Either for free or for sale??

Great job

The resemblance to Summer is really impressive! The urge to comment is irresistable. Prepare for the brutally honest!

Most importantly, her forehead should definitely not be that big.

Her nose doesn't look quite right in the zoomed-out view, and I it might be that there's too much of a crease between the tip of her nose and her nostrils. Plus her eyes, mouth, and nose could be a little bigger in general.

The body doesn't really look like Summer, but I doubt most people will notice. Maybe it's a software thing, but it looks like her left shoulder is a little dislocated or something in that pose.

Useful references: For her body I would recommend looking at her scene near the beginning of the Train Job. That's the best example I could find. For her face I recommend comparing your model with the profile view of River tearing up in Ariel when Simon is giving her the drug. I refer, of course, to the screenshots on http://www.still-flying.net

That is really quite impressive, and I'd be interested in seeing whatever else you create.

Yikes! This thing lives and breathes River Tam. Shiny work and quite beyond the talents of any but the best artists.
