thought this was interesting, especially since it deals with "angel"

KNIBBLET

I'm more offended by 'The Swan' or even Donald Trump's hair than I am a vampire giving someone a death hickey in 'Angel'.

"Just keep walkin, preacher man."

Can't agree more Knibblet; truer words have been said, but I sure can't come up any right now.

"Well, other than being shot at by the Electric Mayhem, I'm fantastic."

Good thing these people didn't see the episode of Buffy where her and Riley are um...romantically entwined for a good portion of the episode.

*snerk*

"And their hips were moving back and forth".... how terrible. I guess they didn't see the one where Angel kicks the shotgun up beneath some guy's chin and blows his head off, and we see the gory explosion above it... or the one where Cordy and Conner (technically 2 months old at the time) were under the blanket (their hips were definately doing some gyratin') while the world ended around them, and Angel watches... or the one where there's a naked just-turned-human-formerly-a-werewolf woman in a cage... mmmmm.

I don't even remember the scene they're talking about in the complaint.

All I'm saying is just that, if they want to attack a scene for indecency, they should go for the good ones, ya know? The ones that stick in your brain, for better or for worse. Of course, these are probably the same people who want to have Nip/Tuck cancelled. *grumble-grumble*

I'm pretty sure they're talking about the scene where Angel is moving hips with Drusilla. Basically just putting Spike in his place and saying Drusilla isn't his and his alone. The flashback scene.

At least the FCC said it was NOT offensive or Indecent. just some stupid parent group trying to complain about something they don't understand. If only there were some sort of national free education available to these people, oh yeah, nevermind.

Zeek, it was either that scene or the one where the just-turned-corporeal Spike is gettin' it on with Harmony when she goes all bloody-eyed and bites him.

Yeah that one could be seen as being just as bad but the article said it was Angel's hips moving back and forth.

Sorry to be a necroposter...

I've been reading the transcripts from twiztv.com, and I'm halfway through Season 4.

Just from the descriptions (and the peeks at the screencaps on buffyworld.com), I'm constantly amazed that the FCC allowed this show to air in Prime Time!

I remember when they had to air Highlander after 11:00pm because of the implied beheadings!
They never showed an actual severed head.

On Angel... Boy! Ya got 'em being served up on platters, and tossed over the shoulder to crash through glass coffee tables, and rolling down conference tables when a lawyer "promotes themselves"!

My, how far we've come!

The way the real world is right now (we're in a WAR, for crying out loud) I find it pretty ridiculous that anyone would have a problem with the violence on a show like BUFFY or ANGEL. I'm not saying violence is a "good" thing, but you have to take into consideration what the violence is FOR...fighting evil, usually.

As for sex scenes, whoever said these shows were FOR kids, anyway? Just because the shows came from a cheesy, teenybopper (originally disguised as independent and thoughtful) network, doesn't mean they were intended for a young audience.

Please, I find 7th Heaven FAR MORE offensive.
