In the episode "Loyalty", Wes learns more about the prophecy concerning Angel and his son. At the end of the episode, the Loa's portents come true. Earthquake. Fire. Blood. After Angel and Wes escape the decimated hotel room, Angel, holding baby Connor in his arms, comments "I thought we were going to be trapped in there". He looks *down* and goes on to say "At least I would have had something to snack on." at which point Wes has a concerned look on his face. Of course, Angel's comment is meant as a double-entendre but what was Angel actually referring to? The bloody blanket? That is all I can think of but maybe I am missing something. Any ideas?

I pretty sure your right he meant the bloody blanket, but they are trying to make us think he is talking about the baby.

Angel meant the baby. Or if he wasn't, Wesley took it to mean the baby, which sets in motion everything that happens a bit later on.

But in the next episode (I think?) we learn that W&H has been spiking Angel's cow blood with Connor's blood, and the human blood thing has been making Angel more agressive and just plain mean.

Even with his soul, Angel has always had a fairly quirky sense of humour about his vampiric side. "I loved my parents; tasted of chicken."

And yeah, he's definitely talking about his son. Mmmmm, tasty!

I always thought he was referring to his own blood, which doesn't make an incredible amount of sense when I think about it..I'm gonna go with Angel's sense of humor. Or maybe it is the blanket. BUt who would eat a blanket?

I think a little chaos is in order.

I do think it's a combination of Angel's sense of humor, plus his growing agression. But the point of having that comment in the script was to freak out Wesley. He just found out that Angel is prophesized to kill Connor, and all of the portents came true. That comment solidified Wesley's belief that he would have to save Connor. Loyalty is the episode where he goes from being stressed out to completely unhinged. It's like the point of no return on his journey of becoming a scruffy dangerous gun-toting badass.

No. Wesley for a second thinks he is talking about eating the baby but he isn't. Blood is raining down. Angel's pig blood from the fridge. He would have been trapped in the room with the pig's blood. When he looks down he is either looking at the blood or he is just making sure Connor is okay. Just he's looking in Connor's direction doesn't mean he is talking about Connor. Plus I don't think Mr. Dad would make that joke.

He was definitely referring to his own blood, which is spilling all over the blanket.

But it could also obviously be interpreted as a reference to Connor. It serves to put Wesley even more on edge, and provides a worthwhile edge-of-your-seat cliffhanger.
