In the Angel episode "Dead End", Lilah (through a somewhat curious route) becomes the head of Special Projects at Wolfram and Hart. In the Season 3 episode "Quickening", Linwood Murrow appears and he later identifies himself in the episode "Forgiving" as the "Division President of Special Projects" at Wolfram and Hart. Is this the same position that Lilah was given or is it a position senior to the one she is given? I know this is a really minor point, but I am curious. Did she get demoted? Was her promotion only temporary at the end of Season 2?

I'd have to rewatch the eps. I think you're right though - I don't think they explicitly give a reason one way or the other.

I don't think she got demoted the senoir partners brought in someone of a higher rank to personally deal with the "Angel Project". Also he is a replacement for Nathan Reed who was promoted.

Aw. Nathan Reed. He was the only important W&H employee that didn't meet a wacky death.

Didn't they all die in Habeus Corpses?

Maybe. Though some of the season 5 characters mentioned being long-time employees (like Tamika, though perhaps the Beast didn't put much importance on the steno pool). But if Nathan Reed died, we didn't see it. Therefore he was the only major W&H lawyer to not have a spectacular death on camera.
