I had heard good things about How I Met Your Mother, but my selling point was hearing that Amy Acker guest starred in it. Well I'm sitting there happy and content watching season one (which I finished this morning) When who else happened to be on that show? Alexis Denisof. What got me even more excited was that Amy Acker and Alexis Denisof were in fact in the same ep (though not on screen at the same time which kind of made me sad since I hoped the story line would in fact have them together) It was exciting in a weird way to see them on together again (Plus Alyson Hannigan). Well asside from that the show is worth the watch I highly reccomend it 'cause not only does it have 3 Characters from the Buffyverse but its a pretty funny show to boot.

It has those three plus Tom Lenk and our own Morena in one episode. Plus Neil Patrick Harris is just gold.

I've been watching since the beginning, but honestly didn't get that into it. It was something I just chose to keep watching and taping 'cuz I love Alyson. That changed this year. Every single episode has made me laugh at least a little. Some, a lot (God, I miss FRIENDS).

In fact, this season has been so consistently funny to me that I've started going back and rewatching last season, and I'm enjoying it a lot more. Can't wait until I get back to Alexis's (I think he did 3 of them) and Amy's (1) eps., although I know what you mean in being disappointed that they weren't in the same scenes. I think I was missing FRIENDS so much that I kept wanting it to be FRIENDS instead of just enjoying it as is. Now I love it.

What the hell am I going to do when it's time for DRIVE, which will be on a different channel at the same time--and I have to be in bed at that time so I can only record one of them?! AAAHHHH!!

Yeah I came to check the post after I finished watching the ep with Morena, also the guy who plays Andrew in Buffy is in this ep as well so that's a total of what 6 Jossverse actors?

Love the show. Neil Patrick Harris is hilarious and Alyson is just so hot (sorry Alexis...I can't stop my brain from thinking dirty...congrats though).

I love the continuity they seem to keep up with. Like the continuation of the slap bet.

I think it's brilliant, the first series was on here (UK) a while ago but I missed some, I've just downloaded the first and got up to date on the second and I love it so much. I actually think it's better than friends, the writing's sharper, the characters are way better and more realistic (even barney )

it's so annoying that the episodes are only like 20 minutes long though, curse your american adverts taking up more time than the programmes themselves they get a lot into those 20 minutes though

I've been getting into this show recently. (I've watched it off and on in the past, but never gave it my full attention. Even though I knew that Alyson Hannigan was in it, and knew that she can do comedy really well.)

I kick myself for not getting into it sooner. It's definitely worth a look!

I caught the Morena Baccarin episode and found it to be a really funny show with heart. The onscreen chemistry between the cast members is cool.

I love how they keep changing Barney's nickname, and it keeps getting more elaborate and silly each time.

I also liked the episode where Ted got drunk for the first time since '93, and the one where Marshall plays bask-ice-ball with his very tall family.

I wholeheartedly agree that the characters are more realistic on MOTHER, but I have yet to see any show (other than Joss's) that is as consistently hilarious as FRIENDS. No, it wasn't always good (every good show has a bad ep. here and there), but the first several years were usually way above average in terms of actual laughs. The one where no one's ready for Ross's banquet-thing is still one of the funniest episodes I've ever seen of ANY show. Then there's the one where pregnant Rachel is way past due and more than a little grouchy, in one of the last seasons. Priceless, I say!

Another thing: I can honestly say I wouldn't mind a cheesy (or not) FRIENDS reunion sometime in the future to see what the characters are all up to.

I still doubt I'll ever say that about MOTHER.

I loved the other night's episode, with Robin's um, inappropriate gift for Lily, courtesy of Barney's influence of course. Then the part where it came out that Barney was the one who gave Lily the nudge to go home to Marshall...funny and sweet all in one.
