Was the episode where Lauren has to put on a Hallows Eve party at WolfRAM & Hart. He has to organize the whole thing, and I guess he felt he needed to not sleep so he had WolfRAM & Hart's scientist remove his sleep so he could be 24/7 guy.

My question is this because I've watched this episode 5 times and I stand correct when I say this. Was this episode a nod to the book "Mrs Dallaway" written by Virgina Wolf?
"It's so hard being the hostess?" Which is what Lauren says at the end of the show before he passes out. If so I have a whole new respect in Joss. The man seems to have many layers.

The price of being a Virgina Wolf Fan.

Well, I don't know about the nod to Viginia Woolfe, but the episode title is "The Life Of The Party". One of my favorite episodes from that season.

Who's Lauren, and why don't I remember her?

Lorne.

What is best in life?
To crush your enemies, to see them driven before you and to hear the lamentation of their women...

Without question it is a nod to Virginia Wolf. Joss and many of the other writers on the show are very well read.

They are constantly referencing literature from the past.

When you think how little time they have to present a message. Often writers need to draw on past literature in order to short cut the viewer to the requisite point of view for the sake of the narrative.

Hadn't spotted it myself though, may have to go back to that and give it another looksee.

:)

I'd figured it out based on the descrip; just making a point. I have a real pet peeve with "fans" who can't spell characters names correctly. How in the world does anyone get 'Lauren' out of 'Lorne'?

Sorry, sorry! My bad!

I think I was drinking when I started this thread. This is my one and only excuse.

Lol "Leerya"
Took me a while to figure out what that one was. By the way, I was sure you knew who "Lauren" was. Just a bit of overly dry humour not translating into text...
