POLLING IS CLOSED.

Same rules, since Elwoodmom did such a great job with them -- vote for your favorite guy and girl, and we'll see who wins. One vote per category per person, and no proxy voting (so don't bother polling your friends). It doesn't have to be regular cast members, so votes for major guest stars (like Drucilla) are okay, as are votes for Gunhand.

FINAL RESULTS

WESLEY & FRED/ILLYRIA

Wesley and Fred/Illyia win, despite a late surge by Spike. (But unless there's been an odd flurry of voting in the last four minutes on the Buffy board, Spike won that one, so Spike fans shouldn't feel too bad.)

Male - Spike. He has the snappier one-liners. Plus, Angel had his soul thrust upon him. Spike went out and fought to get his back - one or two extra points for the character there.
Female - Fred/Ilyria. Fred was very cute, and a decent character, but Ms Acker has some meat to work with now that she's playing Ilyria.

I know this wasn't part of the polling question, but I liked Lindsey and Darla as my favorite guest stars.

Since I put Spike down for Buffy, I am going to go with Angel. (Though it is hard for me to decide which show I liked each of them on the best)

And for girl I will go with Ilyria. I wasn't a big fan of Fred, but I love her as Ilyria and never realized what a great actress she was until she went back and forth from Ilyria to Fred in the same breath, it was moving. The only other character that played both sides of good and evil on that show was David. One of my favorite Angelus episodes was just on TNT, "Souless", it was mostly dialouge and wonderfully done. For an episode with very little action, it was surprisingly gripping, and would have been easily forgetable if not for DB's great portrayal of Angelus.

I'm still stuck in mid s3 angelwise. maybe I shouldn't vote yet. but I think male vote has to got to Wes, he's cute and sexy and interesting and changable and I heard there are dark!Wes parts coming up. or maybe Spike just because he's Spike. but I also like Angel but not that much. but maybe I should vote for Lorne. he's cute, green and cute and he hasn't got one vote yet. and I always loved Dennis the ghost, best ghost ever. I think I'll wait a bit.

female? I'm not sure... no really all that interesting females there. mabe Faith? or Drucilla? Darla always got on my nerves, she has a very whiny voice and I never liked her not bad not maybe-good not human or vampire I always cheered when she got staked or staked herself. Cordy is ok. Fred is kinda sweet but she doesn't come up to Willow or even Kaylee sweetness. I should watch the rest of it before deciding but I don't think the poll will be open that long. I have two and a half seasons left to watch and no holidays coming. voting for Willow on an Angel poll seems not right somehow.

I thought about it and ended up with the same characters as I did with the Buffy vote, I dont really like Angel when hes all dark and moody and was never really convinced by Wes's transformation from geeky librarian to stone cold killer, and all the females, Cordy apart, just seemed like filler to me.

Lorne is a damn cute green demon. but Wesley is something too. just think back when the 'rogue demon hunter' arrived in LA. and everybody kept asking "what's a 'rogue demon' anyway?". and leather chafes even more than tweed. I just saw the EP where Cordy got demonised and the wishverse Cordy actress/star ran into one-armed Wes and was so surprised to see him fight demons and not faint.

Wesley!, Watcher Wesley, scruffy dark Wesley he's just so many characters in one.

Cordelia. I was tempted to go for Faith but I think Cordy's been more important overall. I just think of everything after "Birthday" as Pod!Cordy influenced/controlled by Jasmine so I don't hold anything after that point against her.

Fred is the by far the credit character I like least on ALL the ME shows.

this is the single hardest thing i have ever had to do in my entire young life (maybe something will come along in those older years that could top it, but i'm not counting on it)

i loved angel from the first moment i saw him on buffy. i'm a sucker for the bad boy...especially if they turn into brooders.
spike, he's just my kinda guy. which is completey wrong, if you want romantic advice, but fun as hell, if you want to go that route. wes has gone from nerdy narc to uber-stud. gunn is just so human, its impossible not to like him. groo, those eyes, i could just about melt. lindsey is so much fun, even if he is evil (there i go, once again, with the bad boys.) and i liked doyle up until he got all evil (he's one of only two to ever turn a joss whedon hat trick, that's gotta count for something, right?) but throw adam in as hamilton, and i just far too confused to even think straight.

as for the chicas, i'm more tunnel-visioned. plus, definite boys club on angel. so, cordy did have her whole "transdensce" into someone one wonderful and nice, but i'm a traditionalist. (an angel-buffy shipper, if we must label.) so i'm fred all the way here. not just because i don't really like cordelia, but fred was so sweet and so gorgeous and i was crushed when i found out her soul was burnt up. if i ever had a bone to pick with joss, it would be that. how can he do that to someone so special?

so, i've sucked it up and decided to vote...but first i intend to subject you all to the horrible reasonings that tore me up for two days. first, i decided not to vote for anyone who i've previously voted for....so no adam (

),no spike (cause i voted for him in the buffy thread) and no gunhand (i intend to vote for him in the poster review), so we are down to angel, wes, gunn, knox, groo, and lindsey. i've decided to toss out knox because he was unforgiveably evil and not that hot. and while i like gunn a lot, he'll always be connected to fred's death for me. groo is an uber hottie, but he wasn't around long enough for me to develop significant feelings. and i know there's a serious wes following out there, so i say this fearing for my safety. wes is cool, but i just never understood his sex appeal. there, i said it, don't kill me...i'm too pretty to die.

so, that leaves us with angel and lindsey. lindsey is my bad boy, i love him, probably to an unhealthy amount. but i gotta go with angel. the boy's just got it. so there, i'm completely exhausted and done.

so as time is running short I decided to vote, for whomever. I still don't know yet

ok. male is down to Wes or Lorne 8haven't seen Spike on Angel so I won't vote for him here) and seen as Wes seems to be winning and I sometimes just like to do something different than anybody else and I haven't seen dark!Wes yet (still stuck at 3x13) I've just decided to give my vote to Lorne. one sweet green demon. not really all that good looking (green?) and all but a nice fellow. he's fun, he's smart, he's empathic. he'd be a good man/demon to have around. I'd sure give him a chance. is he even compatible with human women? maybe I shouldn't have asked maybe I don't really want to know. he's still green with little red horns. but whatever don't judge the demons by their color.

for girls... still majorly undecided. Fred is sweet but she's also on the verge of getting on my nerves sometimes. at least when Wes and Gunn moon over her and she has only eyes for Angel, but's that's life. Cordy isn't axactly my type, don't know why. to vote for one of the not so regular characters feels somehow wrong. is Faith going to be on more of Angel that I haven't seen yet? she's only been in two or three EPs or so up to now (3x12), right? maybe I should give Drusilla my vote. I've always kinda liked her but not that much. is Angel a bit short on interesting females or am I just way pickier with my girls than my boys? might be the last one. I didn't have to give much thought to the Buffy femal vote because Willow just is it for me without question. but take Willow away and I would have ended up exactly where I am here. no one I really want to vote for all that much. so I give my reluctant vote to Dru, she hasn't any votes yet either.
