SUCCATASH

My prediction is that Wesley may be dead but not gone. He will return. Before he died, he arranged his death in a magical way to preserve his soul.

Wesley will travel through all the levels of Hell until he finds and frees Leila from her contract and captivity. She holds the key to their return to the real world.

They bump into Cordelia while in hell and together discover a way to cheat death. They all escape Hell and return to help Willow, Spike, Oz, Andrew, Illyria/Fred, Charles, Xander and Giles and an army of slayers.

"...bump into Cordelia while in hell..." I would hope NOT. What would she be doing there? Punishment for the Playboy appearance? Otherwise, I would expect her to be in the other place.

Oh I like that theory!

One I had was that Lilah pulled some strings on the other side to give him a second chance as repayment for trying to burn her contract. You know she's probably basically running stuff in hell now anyway.

Or that wasn't Wesley at all it was cyborg Wesley! He did disappear for an episode after those cyborgs showed up, what better way to infiltrate W&H? Now they just have to go find the real Wesley. I checked my closet, unfortunately he wasn't there.

Or Illyria may regain her powers in some form in the future. Her ability to travel back to past events (albeit purely by accident) has already been established. Mayhaps she will go back and kill Vail just before Wes is .

I like that. Illyria has both the ability and the motivation. I hope there's a tv show or movie where we get to see that happen.

Angel will live because he drank the blood of Hamilton, who had the Powers of the Senior Partners flowing through his veins.

Spike will live because, if he falls, he'll just go back into that amulet again.

Illyria lives, because Hamilton killed her, but she got better.

Gunn... this took some hard research, but there was a moment at the end of Season 4, where the Counduit corners him in the white room, freaking him out... later, he gets off the elevator, "We are DOIN' this thing." You could make a case, however flimsy (like the ones above) that someone other than Gunn got off that elevator.

Wesley is, any way you shake it, quite dead.

Unless Lilah struck a deal with the partners when she was alive, but... she wasn't in with the partners so much as ... a disgruntled employee. So I doubt the bosses did any favors for her.

Just my two cents.

Yeah, what's up with that? Is Angel Super Double Strong forever now? Or is it just temporary....

Or did it just negate Hamilton's powers and Angel remained the same?

I'd have to go with the first one-- though it IS possible Angel merely depleted Hamilton's powers, we DID see Angel began fighting considerably more well (is that legal grammar?) AFTER he nibbled on the Marcus.

How long does it last? If there were a Next Season, I'd say indefinitely... but now... the world may never know.

It's open to your interpretation of just what Hamilton is, and where Hamilton came from. My own interpretation can be seen in my Single-Episode Spin-Off, "Win a Date with Marcus Hamilton."

My personal opinion is that they are all dead, and went out in the proverbial Blaze of Glory. I think this was the best series ending since Blakes 7.

HOWEVER, if we need to feel they could all come back somehow, look at it this way: Holland Manners and Lilah Morgan were both killed, yet their contracts with Wolfram and Hart extended well beyond death, allowing them to continue on in service to the firm. Suppose the Fang Gang had similar clauses buried in their contracts somewhere? Mightn't they be resurrected in the same fashion?

Of course, the Sr. Partners might not want to resurrect them, but that's a whole other issue. It could be looked at as a form of punishment.

That makes some sense.

Personally, I think Wes is dead and the rest of them are locked in that final moment, that final frame, fighting the battle for all of eternity.

(well, I mean that in a good way, not a hopeles oh god they're trapped way.)

Oh wait...It's on again.

There is some fiction in your truth, and some truth in your fiction.

Or, how about, there is an element of truth to both Spikeandjezebel's post, as well as Seafort's.

Is Hamlet alive or dead? Logically, since he dies at the end of the play, he is dead for all time. Or is he? Does he live on every page, for all eternity, until those final moments of Act V?

The characters fight on, living in that moment forever. It means more to me (with the obvious exceptions) that we didn't actually SEE them die, as in "Blake's 7." The fact that we're given the opportunity for a way out (unlike, say, "Thelma and Louise") may or may not mean something... but I thought it was the best way to go.

Very good episode, my only regret is that Joss didn't write & direct it himself.

I dub you Sir Tash the Unpredictable. You have quite a thought going here. I mean I'm satisfied with the ending, but what a thought. With that increased strength Angel can do some serious damage. So maybe he does slay the dragon, and let's face it...if he can take out the dragon I'm sure he'll take his 30,000 down with him. Heck together these four might take on the whole army of Hell. and if Spike can get his jowls on some of that new super mojo charged blood Angel's sporting. Perhaps a sliced wrist. OK now I just stop.
