"If Angel had come back next year, it would have been post-apocalyptic. I don't mean like Dark Angel with just a bunch of industrial buildings, I mean Mad Max Road Warrior. Season six would have been hugely post-apocalyptic, with Angel as the Road Warrior. That was the idea for the next season, so with that in mind we knew the end of season five was heading into something huge and global and monumental. In the finale, they basically start a war and it's a war that will have huge good and evil implications of almost Biblical proportions. It would have been very different next year, and a little more sci-fi, I guess." - David Fury

Dammit! Dammit! Dammit! Now I have to hate three networks! Fox for killing Firefly, ABC for screwing over Kingdom Hospital, and now WB for canning Angel right before it went in a direction I always hoped it would! Dammit!

Dont ask me silly questions.
I wont play silly games.

God, that sounds good. I wonder if the Fang Gang would have eventually enlisted the help of the Watchers Council.
The WB sucks.

Um, what the frag? First off, "Kingdom Hospital" got MAJOR promos and timeslot-placement, and then people just didn't watch it. Not like Firefly, which got minimal advertising and a graveyard Friday-night spot.

SECOND-- the Watchers council was BLOWN UP. There is no Watchers council anymore. It's just Giles, so far as we know. Which is kinda cool, if you think about it.

Third.... CURSE YOU David Fury for telling us this. Now I'm (like the other posters) even MORE PI$$ED OFF that the show got cancelled.

But........ and this is just me being crazy.... that MOVIE.... would be AWESOME.

Angel: The Road Warrior.
Buffy: Fury Road.

I mean, come ON..... whew! @.@

I saw something like this somewhere, and I loved the idea... thought I'd share it...

Wouldn't it be great if right as things are starting to look bad for The Fang Gang, Gunn has been killed (because I can), and there are tons and tons of demons. Then a portal opens with White-Haired Willow, Buffy, Giles, Faith, and 200 slayers to help fight.

That would be fun...

I'd like to point out that Kingdom Hospital has been pushed back for more than a month for various trivial and annoying programs (Special report on HIV in the porn industry?* Coyote Ugly?) with absolutely NO word as to why from ABC. They havent even told King what the hell they're doing according to his site. It stinks of mismanagement on a level only FOX usually attains.

I'm not judging the show one way or the other, Dracos... but what I do know is, the first few episodes of the show DID air-- after much hype and many, many commercials. A tie-in book was published, "The Journals of Eleanor Druse," of which the bookstore near my house still has many, many copies.

I think the later episodes are getting shafted because the earlier episodes had terrible ratings. Not so with 'Firefly,' which got the shaft from the very beginning.

In fact, it reeks of a previous King/ABC effort you might recall, called "The Golden Years." I watched that when it was on, but after 3 or 4 episodes, the final 2 or 3 were aired late at night, or in a time slot so obscure, I never did find the things.

So rather than be true to the fans, they're true to the bottom line: ratings. So at the end, we agree: Networks are Bastards!

And If I recall correctly... The Golden Years had awesome ratings... which led to other Stephen King projects that were made for TV like "The Stand" and "Storm of the Century".

Maybe people are just not into hospital shows like they're used to... and in a show like Kingdom Hospital... maybe there is more of a squeemish factor or people don't like the idea of dead people in a hospital haunting the place... it's just not their cup of tea. Also in the advertisements they show the little girl haunting the place... people may wrongly jump to conclusion that she died at the hospital and many people don't like to think of children being sick or dying. I've seen this with many parents of children who are healthy. Their worst fear is about having a sick child that needed hospitalization.

NBC's ER may have changed people's expectations or quenched their thirst for medical shows also.

I think it's a pretty good show for what it is... it has quirkyness, strange characters, a backstory to explore, a good haunting...
