I really like where they have taken Spike,

his interaction with Fred ( without getting into a spoiler ) is rather telling to where his character is headed.

I still think the redemption of Spike maybe would have ( will !!! ) parawell that of Jayne. Different situations and storyline lines, but after Ariel and Trash I had a feeling Jayne was going to struggle with himself to become a better more at peace mercenary thug.

Back to Angel, I fell out of my chair laughing at the preview for next week!!! Can't wait

Some post-Angel 5.4 thoughts:

I'm glad that Spike is now more of a perma-ghost (with some poltergeist abilities kicking in) and no longer being pulled into hell (or A hell dimension). The inadvertant disappearing act thing ended just in time.

I liked how Spike's footfalls could be heard while he was being haunted (presumably because he was halfway between our dimension and the more hellish one) but were silent when he interacted with the main Angel players. Nice touch that some, I'm sure, will mis-interpret as a continuity flaw.

That said, we still need more of an explanation as to how Spike is able to lean on tables and sit in desk chairs with his feet kicked up. Some kind of ghost gymnastics? The poltergeist thing again?

William the Bloody (Awful Poet) had a fan! Loved the interaction between Angel and Spike. Angel and Spike are going to be drinking buddies soon... cruising bars... talking about the old days... picking up hotties.

Fred and Spike. Me like. Glad she's not falling for the Spike charm but still cares enough to go over budget in her department.

Which brings us to... Angel, Fred and Eve in a departmentary budget meeting... hilarious. $800,000 over budget? Damn!

Next week's episode looks hilarious and is written by Mr. Ben Edlund!!

I was thinking about that a bit during the episode, personally I'm just assuming as he explained, if he really wants something. So he would be so used to and want to sit down he would be able to.

Alternate explanation, floors are still solid for him(when not being screwed with), so it could be the same justification.

My dad said it's because he can float himself up to look like he's sitting in a chair and Angel's car and stuff...but I'm not sure how accurate that is.

The poetry thing had me laughing for a long time. Also the "afraid of the dark" line.

I have a question. That one lady said something about "I haven't forgotten you" or something to that affect. That sort of thing happens a lot but we never find out what it's all about. Was she suppose to be somebody? I think Cessily (sp?) should be in an episode as a ghost or something just so she can see what Spike has become and who's beneath who.

The good:
- Fred is toughening up a bit
- some funny Spike monologues while in quasi hell

The bad:
- Gunn, Wes and Lorne are becoming minor characters
- Spike isn't corporeal yet; I hope this won't be a recurring thing where he can become corporeal but something always gets in the way (ala Gilligan's Island)

Based on the fact that Joss is in charge, I doubt the whole becoming corporeal thing is gonna be a weekly endeavor. Not his style. Maybe like near the end of the season or something. I definitely think that this was one of the best Angel shows I've seen. I loved Pavane (not the character, the actor who played him)

Well remember, now that the problem is solved, there is NO crisis to hurry to make Spike coporeal.

I doubt they'll be going into it much, just it'll be one of those all of a sudden "BAM" things Joss often seems to do.

And technically, Spike is NOT floating, the cushions move when he sits :P

My wife had an odd observation, with the prof that the vampire with the soul will redeam himself and become human....

Which vamp with a soul ???

Made me wonder
