Some of you folks might recognize my name... I have been / had been maintaining the thread over on Gossi's board which contained links to most available Firefilk, mirrored those links on Fashionably Brown, (although both need to be updated, which I'll be getting to soon), and also am the editor of Big Damn Chefs.

Anyhow, I'm putting together a set of pages for Big Damn Singalongs (also known as BDSes). This is a way for browncoats to promote Firefly and their own Firefly related filks by organizing singalongs where Firefilk is featured. David Richens, maintainer of the Firefilk email list, and I are working together to put together guidelines, song sheets (with chord changes), and lyric sheets to make it easy for people to put on their own BDSes.

I have access already to the following Firefilk that we've found online:
* Lux Lucre's Firefly filk
* Freya's Firefly Filk
* Ying's Filk (Parody) Songs
* and some of the filks posted in the Blue Sun Room

For BDSes, it's best to have well-known tunes that are easy for people to sing, and can be arranged to a good selection of music within a specific time frame for a session since a lot of them will probably take place at conventions and shindigs and such.

So far, the selections of actual filk (not original songs) are:

So, what I need from you are your best Firefly related filk songs! :) The ones that go to tunes that are well known, easy to sing, and with lyrics that scan well into the syllables/notes. If you know of really good ones that have been posted in the Blue Sun room, please feel free to point them and and provide a link to them, because it's been difficult to wade through all the posts to find them.

Wow. That's pretty amazing!! Good work! :) I sang my way through it and found a couple of places where the syllables are a little tough, but otherwise it's a great piece of work! :)

Have you recorded yourself singing it? If you haven't, you SHOULD!

It could be a truly evil song to use in a singalong, for sure. *evil grin* Yay!

Just a gal out on the rim writing tales.

Here's my parody of the "My Favorite Things" song from "The Sound of Music". Easy to sing and especially funny given the topic and the inane tune. I cracked hubby bigbadman up one morning by spontaneously singing it in the shower and he made me write it down.
