It's disappointing how many people get online and lack basic netiquette. There should be a course you have to take when you first get online that teaches you how to act in a proper manner. Of course if this happened then there'd only be a few thousand people online.

The DA fans have their hands tied--Fox really put them in a bad situation. So I think DA people are posting nasty things out of desperation. It's wrong, but I think I can understand where it comes from. Tammy

Originally posted by Blaise: As for Cher reading the pilot script for Firefly, she knows nothing. Scripts never look that great on paper, I remeber everyone was a bit doubtful of this years Buffy finale after reading the transcripts, they thought that Willow couldn't possibly pull of the dialogue realisticly, and look how that turned out. So anyways my point being the script shouldn't represent the outcome of the show, and Cher should know that, having had access to DA transcripts before show production. Gee I talk too much. Basically i'm just tryin to extend the olive branch, please don't think that because of a few people, that every DA fan is going to be a troll, Cher is starting to give us a bad name. Dark Angel and Firefly fans should unite, not fight. (I know, corny as hell)

These rules should include the *very basics* of forum etiquette. They should be very basic and non-confrontational, allowing for disagreement, but not for hostility. --Dylan Palmer, aka NoVaGrAsS--

Quote:Originally posted by Novagrass: The thing is, mob mentality doesn't exactly... work when the mob is so small. I'd guess that there are at most 5000 hardcore DA fans... the rest of the watchers are just casual fans who have no interest in the workings of the behind-the-scenes stuff. 5000 vs 4 million (.125% of 4 million, actually)... them's some gooood odds

I agree with the whole test thing. If you can't be civil, I don't see why you should be allowed in message boards and such. I try to be as polite and civil as possible when responding, it's very easy. That's all.

Sadly, I suspect it's as much a social thing as a net thing, although the freedom of anonymity gives mendacious morons far more encouragement than they deserve.

So I poked him with a stick. Now he's all hurt feelings and living up even more to the categorization of troll. I shouldn't have poked him, but ignoring him seemed to not be working, and I've seen annoyances driven off by mockery in the past, so I thought maybe I should give it a try. Perhaps it will work. Perhaps not. It was kind of fun to flex my mockery muscles.
