I'll probably be gone for two days or so. Been sic as a dog and tomarrow a friend needs me to run him up to northern Indiana for job interview - his car broke yesterday. Bleah ... buncha other garbage going on too.

Seem like this year has been overfull of hurdles for about everyone I know! :crap"

If it sits well with the story, let Simon sleep on the Cryrobox in the Infirmary and remember, Niska is still INSIDE the Cyrobox ...

... If the story needs Simon : Maniac or Teela - I think you know the direction I was moving Simon. Could you help me out, if the story needs him?

[b}Manaic
Niska info: sketchy & cryptic -painful to recall ... and Simon gets a migrane when he trys to remember the info too hard. Other than that ... have at!

Teela
Heh, we talked about the Simon arc ... if you need to run Simon. You know what to do!

Hope to 'see' you folks soon!

Teela, Teela, Teela. I do so dislike getting my hands dirty with the mundanities of planning! I'm more a care-free spirit! A 'rennaisance anarchist' if you will! The pesky details will take care of themselves. Oh, I suppose we could form a braintrust or thinktank on the matter if you insist, great Lady! I am but an instrument of war, wield me as you will!

Okay, Here's the new thread for the RP.
http://www.fireflyfans.net/thread.asp?b=17&t=3478

Plus, we really need to settle on a title... "Badger's Betrayal" or "Adventures in Gunrunning"?

Personally, my vote is for "Adventures in Gunrunning", as it seems this story ain't so much about just Badger's dealings...

I'm all for "Adventures in Gunrunning". If we can find a Badger to betray us later on that's fine, but seems that running guns is the storyline so far.

Hey Humble -

Just wanted to let you know you're creating all manner of fun for me too. I'm looking forward to not instantly getting along with Mal.

I've got a scenario going in my tired little brain about Mal and Rowan's next encounter. I'm thinking he finds her in the kitchen after they've already lifted off, cooking something delectable. Since he frequently suffers from Saffron-a-phobia, I'm thinking he would see her A) stowing away and B) trying to ply him with food as somewhat less than honest.

(you *heard* the sarcasm there, right?)

What do you think?

Also, I'm not one to write dialogue for other characters. I'll be posting a little more frequently for the next few days, though. Figured I better start getting a tad more active.

Anyone got a preference as to what's in the two crates at dock 4, or would you prefer it to be a surprise? I've got a couple of ideas perculating.

I know you introduced them, Maniac. Did you have something in mind, or were they just a McGuffin? How big were those crates, anyway? I know they said small, but is that whisky case small, coffin small (been done ), loaded pallet small, or however big I need them to be? I may have to stea...ummm..borrow a truck to get them to the ship.

I don't mind a lick if you make those crates any size you need Geezer. I initially was thinking a little smaller than a washing machine size, but what works, works.

RavenWW, your character might benefit from being in some sort of partnership with Thorne/Geezer, as he also was Alliance. Perhaps you two can be working together or some such? ... or maybe you're related and Thorne never goes off-world without taking his brother? (ha ha!) Or you might be tailing Thorne because you think he's someone who can help you... that would lead you near Serenity. Whatever you like is fine with me. Be creative.

Maniac, that's a great idea! Having them be connected in some way makes getting Raven into the game a lot easier!

Raven: Suggestion for an avatar - if you want to put a person pic there, great; how 'bout if you kept the Blue Sun logo and just the international "no" symbol (the big red circle with the line through it) over it? (just a smart alec idea)

ok, here goes.
Brink Helsing is a white, thirty-something looking man of mals hieght and build. He wears a black trenchcoat, similar to Simons, but with red inside, rather than white as a shirt. He has visible tattoos up his neck, with some sort of design. He has black hair, and eyes that are blood red (reasons will become apparant later). He looks like a vampire would in this day and age, and carries a pistol and a short stick about the size of a policemans nightstick.

Perhaps Brink could be an acquaintance of Thorne, but not a partner. If he works(worked)for Blue Sun, he and Thorne might have run into each other around the docks and warehouses. This assumes that Brink has been living on Hara, and isn't just passing through on the run. Otherwise hard to make the connection.

Either way, might have Brink hanging around Dock 4 trying to get off-planet when the heist goes down. Then he can save a crewperson's bacon and thereby earn some credibility that would give Mal a reason to help him get out of town on Serenity.

Just a suggestion.

CHANNAIN-Yes, I look forward to more interaction between Rowan and Mal. It's fun putting RP characters off-balance. I like the unpredictable way Mal behaves sometimes and misunderstandings creat good conflict.

I hate when someone writes my dialogue as well. If I do write for others I try to limit to minimal physical actions in keeping with gist of storyline. Like to get as many other character interactions going as possible.

I liked the way Book stepped in so deftly with Rowan. Good timing and nice insight into story. Also, I like the idea of winning Mal over with food. But try this one on for size: Mal is walking towards Simon's quarters to check on him and runs into a scantily-clad Rowan fresh from taking a shower? An encounter of the sexiest kind ensues? Maybe causing conflict with Inara?

BOOMERGOODHEART-I'd like to interact with Kaylee character more. I've sent Mal with River in tow to meet with Kaylee in Engineering. I used Chinese somewhat and some swearing, but not a whole lot, and nothing too dirty. Hmmm. Kaylee might just be interested in some of our new arrival as well? Yes?

The story is really getting interesting. Look forward to new developments and plot complications. Maybe someone has an idea(s) for next adventure? Maybe continuing where this one leaves off or new unrelated caper?

Okay, I could do that. now when you say *encounter* how far would that go. Are we talking about heavy flirting that Inara overhears, or the *wild thing*? Considering our similar views on writing dialogue for other characters - it could get kinda... interesting, and maybe in an uncomfortable way for everyone else.

Considering the recent conversation with Book, I think Rowan's role on board ship will be more in the engine room than the kitchen, although there will be a billiards setting in the kitchen at some point.
