My father was a merchant in Capital City Osiris. he started out the lowest levels and work up from the bottom and made his millions before the age of 27. thats when he met my Mom who was a professional Violin player she was demeaned all over the central planets. well the found each other at a party and fell in love, got married. then they had us kids. Oberon, my older brother by 4 years, me, and little Isabel she's 6 years younger than me. we enjoyed life on Osiris, but when Issy was 4 she cough tuberculosis and needed a dryer climate than Osiris could offer. My father being wealthy could afford to go anywhere he wanted. so we picked Hera and Phoenix was a stroke of serendipity because the Phoenix being the bird of rebirth. Being a wide eyed 10year old i asked him why, he told me that ever since he was a kid he wanted to live in the border planets because of all the movies and stories.

we were happy there little Issy was a healthy little girl. mom taught us to play and we went to school over the cortex and the local school. So dad got his Ranch at the base of the Serenity Valley. it wasn't to long before the war started my brother enlisted in with the Browncoats he was killed in the first stages the battle of Du-Khang. My mother was inconsolable she wouldn't talk to Dad. because of mom distress over Ron's death I helped Issy with every thing.

then the war came to our doorstep as the Independents' were falling back into the Valley. we helped them as much as we could with food and water. as the Alliance closed there was a fight in our corn field. after the fight was over we took in the wounded both Browncoat and Alliance.
the next morning an Alliance Colonel came by in a hover craft he saw the wounded Browncoats and had them shot and then went to my father, with something like "if you take in rebels you are a rebel" pulled out his revolver and shot my father in front of the family.....**tears welling up in his eyes** he died in my arm his last words to me were "mind your mother and sister".
the next 7 weeks were hell i did the best i could mom with dads death went catatonic. I did what my father told me i took care of them then one day it was quiet, the battle was over, soon after the Alliance feds came in and policed the town because of my mother infirmity and my youth, my mother was sent to an Asylum my sister and i to reform schools. that was the last time i saw them.
i spent 2 years in "school" reaping the joys of unification. when i got out i found odd jobs and fell in with some bad crowds, for 3 years. then i got a line on my mother that she was on St.Albans
so i got a ticket and when i found her she had died she hung herself. so with no money i hung around St.Albans till i found you guys.

I still dont know where Issy is she'll be turning 16 in about a month or so. that a lot why im on the book to find here and rebuild our lives
