GEEZER

Keep the Shiny side up

Thorne's Move:

Location: Galley

As things calm down, Thorne drifts back to his chair and sits, waiting for the ladies to arrive. All unbidden, the word 'pretty' pops into his mind, and he begins to sub-vocalize Roy Orbison's "Pretty Woman". "Lots of pretty women on this ship, each in her on way." he thinks. "Hard and soft, young and not so, slim and well filled out. But every one a winner. What are the odds? And speaking of odds, what are the odds we'll get to the briefing without another interruption?" Even as he's making a 10,000 plat bet with himself about it, the comm crackles.

WASH: “This is Wash, Captain you’ll wanna come up here to the bridge, and bring Book with you, ok?”

"And we have a winner!" Thorne says, sotto voce. "Must owe myself half a mil by now." Shrugging, he leans back and resumes thinking about the pretty women on Serenity; playing 'Ginger or Mary Ann' in his head.

Damon's turn:
LOCATION - DINING ROOM

Quote:

Mal
"Yes, no foul. Damon we will turn this kettle of fish over later." To Thorne: "We got around 10 minutes before our other distaff members arrive. That OK with you?"

Damon watches as Thorne and Mal move off to attend other business, relieved to put the incident behind him for a while. Ten minutes... not really much time to do anything.

He looks at Book, wondering what's to become of his gun and decides to ask Mal about it later. He shouldn't be needing it for a while anyway. In fact, he begins to wonder if he needs it on this ship at all. Again, he'll have to ask Mal.

He walks back to the corner he fell asleep in and sits down. Time enough for questions later. For now, he's content to just sit, watch and stay out of trouble.

Commercial

Camera focuses on a fancy desk chair behind a stainless steel tabletop. The chair slowly turns, revealing a Blue Sun agent sitting at attention; his gloved hands remain folded as they come to rest on the table. The agent stares at the camera for a moment before taking a deep breath as the inspirational music starts.

“Wheeeeen you can’t seem to find a transport or cruise line, use the cortex.
A quick note you can wave, all the bills you must pay, use the cortex…”

Other agents come onto the screen in the background, dancing with Alliance officers in shiny hats. The agent slowly stands up and continues singing:

“Watch a bit of news, order a coil or fuse, find new pool balls and cues, sell the shuttle you never use, uuuse the cortex…”

Dancing agents and Alliance officers are joined by trapezing Feds and fireworks as the music and singing crescendos. The agent climbs onto the table, raising his arms dramatically:

“Rates are always cheep, log in almost free, all users agree, Blue Sun is the key, uuuuuuuse the cortex!”
