Gary is running as the Libertarian candidate, again - he was also the candidate in 2012. In the interest of full disclosure, I voted for his ticket then.

He has a new running mate, apparently MA Gov. William Weld.

He has stated that he would legalize marijuana.

He reportedly has the backing of the Koch brothers.

If he wins a few states, like Maine (gave Perot second place in 1992), AZ where he was Governor, and MA (for Weld), the election could be thrown to Congress to elect, separately, the President (by the House) and the Vice President (by the Senate). This would happen if these states deny the leading Electoral Vote-getter the 269 majority.

If he wins a little over one-third of the Electoral College, more than the other candidates, he would make an argument for being elected by the Congress.

If he wins a majority of 269 in the Electoral College (with as little as 25 states), he would outright win the Presidency.

Link to the thread where I broke down the Electoral College scenarios:

He has a decent chance this time largely because of the high levels of dislike for the New York Liberal #1 and New York Liberal #2 candidates.

The math and scenarios are mostly laid out in this thread:

The pot issue would be a favorite of the left, or the young.

But for conservatives, the issue of Federal Debt, Balanced Budget, Federal spending should be of interest. The libertarian party in the past has advocated strong reduction in Federal Spending - drastically. I have not heard of them migrating from that position. This would be an area that a Republican House could make great progress with. Can you imagine 4 years of fiscal responsibility?

Regarding borders, Obama has had a pass because as a black person the media avoids pointing out the amount of crimes he commits, the great tendency toward criminal behavior he insists upon displaying.
Johnson would not be able to abuse or avoid Federal Laws at a whim like Barack Hussein has done. McConman and the Senate might allow it, but Ryan and the House would not.

7.5% of the popular vote is the best prediction I know for Gary Johnson. The predictions are updated daily with each new popularity poll.
http://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/2016-election-forecast/

7.5 % is more than Ralph Nader's 2.74% in 2000 when Nader gave Bush the Presidency.
www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/how-nader-cost-gore-an-election/2015/0
2/05/3261cc22-abd2-11e4-8876-460b1144cbc1_story.html

Nader’s candidacy was based on the self-serving argument that it would make no difference whether Gore or George W. Bush were elected. This was insane. Nobody, for instance, can imagine Gore picking as the nation's chief law enforcement officer a man of Ashcroft's anti-civil rights, antitrust, anti-abortion and anti-gay record. Or picking Bush's first choice to head the Labor Department, Linda Chavez, who opposes the minimum wage and affirmative action.

I look forward to Gary Johnson arguing it would make no difference whether Trump or Hillary were elected.

New poll has Hilliary leading Trump by 9% WITH 37% in Colorado and 5% with 39% in Virginia, and Johnson gets 13% in CO and 10% in VA. Hilliary's lead over Trump is about the same in as the results for Obama in 2008.

Johnson is a liberal...and a pot head. The Libertarian Party is where conservatives went to get away from people like him. In 1972 many conservatives left the Republican Party and joined the Libertarian Party because they thought Nixon was too liberal, Nixon won in a land slide anyway. Libs like Johnson are going to take that party further to the left and ruin it.

Johnson is favorite among Military with over 38%, beating Clinton and Trump.

And Johnson is at 26%, 3% behind Trump in Utah, trending towards winning Utah. Utah is worth 6 Electoral votes.
If Trump flips PA, OH, and FL his way, as recent polls have indicated, and all other states go the way of 2012 except Utah, then Johnson getting Utah would make it a Trump 267, Hilliary 265, Johnson 6 - and the Electoral College would not generate a winner. The Election would need to go to Congress to have the President elected by the House and the Veep elected by the Senate.

VT 13%
AZ 12%
IA 12%

GA 11%
VA 11%
IN 10%

WV 10%

That would be 23 states with 10% or more.

AND, for those Libtard types who cannot comprehend simple math, those percentages are ALL more than 2%. In fact, I don't recall seeing any of the polls listed with less than 3% for Johnson. Again, for the simple-minded, 3% is MORE than 2%, not less than 2%.

See, but that's where you lose people whozit.

He's not "lib" as in leftie

(Well, evidence is pointing that his camp is totally that way, but Libertarians should not be....)

And "Pot Culture" is something you're going to have to live with, whether or not you choose to partake in it or not.

Sometimes these days, in order to not be doing illegal things, I can easily swallow a 30 pack of cheep brew.

I never smoked pot at work. Whether it was retail or a real job that had potentialities behind it.

I personally know dozens of retail employees, half a dozen delivery drivers and one suit-wearing banker that regularly indulge in pot smoking nearly 24/7 when they're not sleeping.

Overall, no matter how "great" or menial their positions in life are, they generally seem happy.

Even one "tough guy" at my old job with tattoos covering 60% of his body that gave me shit one day when he was new didn't push it too far when I put him in his place.

I worked hard as I always did, and he started calling me "lady" one night....

I thought I imagined it the first time I walked past him, but there was no coincidence the second time.

He'd been there a few weeks and he loved showing off some knives he had that he could get away with having while he was at work. We did cut boxes. He just had a better utensil.

The second time I was walking by and he said it, I said "Say it Again".

"Huh?"

"Call me Lady one more time, but this time you better have more than a little knife in your pocket."

To which, he replied "I don't need a knife to beat your ass old man" ;)

"You keep telling yourself that". I said before I walked away carrying a load on a pallet jack, and gave an evil smile over my shoulder. "You know where to find me" :)

For the rest of that night, I had my Spidey Sense tingling.

If I was going to be stabbed again, this was the night.

We were not only cool, but I found out this guy loved watching History Channel WWII things on Youtube. Him and the Mom of his boy fought a lot, but they made it work enough to have him and he'd die for his boy.

This scrawny little fucking punk that worked at a tatoo shop and was over a decade younger than me who I was looking forward taking some stress out on....

Book (?) Judge (Me) Cover (Him)....

We haven't talked a while, and I know future jobs were even less easy for him given his Body Art and almost complete lack of social graces.

At the end of the day though, I know that is the type of Dad who would kill for his son.

Gary Johnson is a Pussy.

You had your chance with Ron Paul and you all blew it.

That chance will come up again, but this is not the elections to fuck with what could be

It's Trump or it's..........

Do Right, Be Right. :)

Gary Johnson is a fucking idiot.

First, he has no idea at all what the fuck Aleppo is.

Then he says we shouldn't worry about climate change because someday the Sun will engulf the Earth.

Hell, why is he worried about our national debt if that's the case?

Dude's a fucking dumbass, and so is anyone fool enough to vote for his stupid ass.

He is getting over 10% in several states, and over 15% in a few. The Utah 26% poll isn't even shown.

A list of some, from that linky page:

UT 16%
WI 16%
NM 14% -> 16%
OH 14%
CO 13% -> 16%
MS 13%
PA 13%
MI 12%
CA 10%
NV 10%
NH 10% -> 14%
VT 10% -> 13%
VA 10% -> 11%

Updating the above post, which was on 4 August:

AK 16%
CO 16%
NM 16%
NC 15%
NH 14%
ID 13%
VT 13%
AZ 12%
IA 12%
ME 12%
GA 11%
VA 11%
IN 10%
OR 10%

The above post was on 8 September.
Further polling data is as follows:
WA 16%
NH 15%
VA 15%
PA 14%
CA 11%
IN 11%
NV 11%
OR 11%
TX 10%
WY 10%

Because the updates are getting large,
All combined:
WA 16%
UT 16%
WI 16%
NM 16%
AK 16%
CO 16%
NH 15%
VA 15%
NC 15%
PA 14%
OH 14%
VT 13%
MS 13%
ID 13%
AZ 12%
IA 12%
ME 12%
CA 11%
IN 11%
NV 11%
OR 11%
GA 11%
MI 10%
TX 10%
WY 10%
WV 10%

That is 26 States with 10% or more in at least one poll.
In the real world, 10% is more than 2%.

And I've heard reports that about 70% of voters do not know who he is. So if 30% have heard of him, and up to 16% would vote for him, that would mean that if everybody heard of him, he might have 53% of the vote in 6 states, and also 50% in another 3 states. 13% now would extrapolate to 40% (with 100% awake and aware), which would be enough to carry the state in the 12 States above showing more than 12% for him.

UT, ID, AK look very interesting.

That list was from Sep 29.

Update, from the link listed:
NM - 24%
AK - 18%
MT - 11%

Yes, in the real world, those are all more than 2%.

What a douchebag Weld turned out to be.

But I'm still voting for Gary at the top of the ticket.

This poll graphic indicates Hilliary is only up to 269 - and this site is heavily biased towards her.

Today same heavily biased site has Hilliary with 224 Electoral Votes.

I had hoped to make a list of different polls and their current numbers, but I worked too long tonight.

Tomorrow all the polls will change their numbers and say they were accurate all along.
