Sometimes, when philosophizing about the balance of (a) Militarized Police ala Orwell or Kafka versus (b) the honest pursuit of criminals while protecting Law-Abiding Citizens, one might wonder where a situation falls in the spectrum.
I have found that an excellent illustration of why cops should stop Criminals who attempt to Elude or Evade is the case of Joel Rifkin. The traffic stop cop had no reason to suspect the driver was the most prolific Serial Killer in New York history. And if only the cops would have just ended the pursuit and stopped trying to enforce the Law, then Joel would have been free to continue murdering New Yorkers. Only after the pursuit ended in collision did cops find that the rolled carpet in the bed of the pickup truck had a foot peeking out.

When Criminals choose to flee, cops of Integrity will be protecting the Public by making effort to apprehend them.


This does not condone or excuse Police Abuse. Nor the visceral fear of Police which may be prevalent in some communities (largely due to Lawless Police)
But attempt to Evade or Elude is not a blanket immunity from Justice for your crimes, as many Criminal Families seem to preach.

And this does also reserve kudos to all of the families who support Enforcement of Laws, regardless of race. Unfortunately, those are not the people featured on MSM actualities.
