Merkel: G-7 summit with Trump was a 'sobering' experience

FRANKFURT, Germany — German Chancellor Angela Merkel found the contentious Group of Seven summit with U.S. President Donald Trump a "sobering" and "depressing" experience but said European leaders won't be "taken advantage of" on trade.

Dem amendment would force Trump to appoint a cyber coordinator

A Democratic senator is looking to add an amendment to annual defense policy legislation to force President Trump to appoint a cybersecurity coordinator at the White House after the administration's controversial decision to eliminate the role.

Of course, Trump wouldn't want the Russians monitored or blocked. What a traitor...

AP FACT CHECK: Trump ignores strong points in US trade

President Donald Trump is presenting a skewed portrait of how the world does business with the U.S to rationalize his escalating trade dispute with allies.

Peace in breaking out in N Korea.

As for the Germans, fuck 'em. They've been taking the USA for a ride for years.

See, now you're proving JJT right. A perfectly good War, lasting a couple Millennia in the Middle East, and now Trump is destroying that too. If Trump Peace keeps breaking out, where will any leftover Wars be?
Trump is just destroying everything he touches, everything Liberals have been toiling away at for eons. Obama had such a great Legacy of War cultivated in Syria and neighbors, and now Trump destroyed all that work.
What next, Tax Reform? Oops, too late, Trump already destroyed the Libtard Tax Code and Loopholes.

In response to whomever posted that we are living in a Trump created economy, wrong. Trump is benefiting from what Obama did. Trump inherited a continually improving economy from Obama. One that had 7.8 percent unemployment rate and climbing when Obama took office, and was at 4.3 percent when trump took office. When Obama came into office we were hemorrhaging more than seven hundred thousand jobs a month.

You guys crack me up.

The economy isn't much better today than it was under Obama, and that wasn't good either.

We might technically have more jobs than by the time GWB was out of office, but they're shit jobs compared to what were out there.

What would it take to "fix" the economy?

Well, it would take re-industrialization - to the point where the USA COULD produce every vital commodity and manufactured item ... steel, concrete, aluminum, chips, chemicals, construction and farm equipment, pharmaceuticals, batteries etc, and be able to trade fairly with any other nation for the missing items (i.e neutral balance of trade) and not be dependent on running massive trade deficits for maintaining our lifestyle.

It would take doing away with fractional reserve banking, and developing national, state and local banks to help finance actual ... yanno ... investment, and not depend on money made out of thin air by private banks to prop up the financial speculation in which they are also invested.

It would require massive re-investment in infrastructure- roads, bridges, waterways, electrical grid, water supplies, communications etc- to allow better transportation - of water, electricity, goods, information etc.

PLUS, IN IDEAL CIRCUMSTANCES it would require production at the local and regional level, in preparation for any sort of disaster - hurricane, earthquake, cyberattack - to allow the economy to break apart into functional units that could maintain basic survival at the local level until the emergency was dealt with.

In would require environmental restoration and conservation retrofitting so that our biological productivity and water supplies can be maintained indefinitely.

This would be a multi-decade effort, FAR BEYOND what any President could hope to accomplish in one or even two terms, and the globalist elites and entrenched oligarchs and banking structures - and their deep state compatriots and media/ Hollywood collaborators - would fight tooth and nail, every inch of the way, to make sure that THEIR power and wealth would never be diminished. TRUMP IS NOT ABOUT TO DO ALL OF THAT. The best he can hope to accomplish is to dismantle as much as possible the deep state, and MAYBE audit The Fed.

When I was youngish ... during the Vietnam War era ... "liberals" were antiwar.

When did that all change? I can point to the breakup of Yugoslavia (accompanied by much cheering and applause) and our involvement in Somalia, under Bill Clinton, under the guise of that era's version of "R2P"; but attitudes must have changed before than. It was a sad conversion when liberals forgot their anti-war roots and dove headfirst into the "regime change" model.

Joint Statement of President Donald J. Trump of the United States of America and Chairman Kim Jong Un of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea at the Singapore Summit

President Donald J. Trump of the United States of America and Chairman Kim Jong Un of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) held a first, historic summit in Singapore on June 12, 2018.

President Trump and Chairman Kim Jong Un conducted a comprehensive, in-depth, and sincere exchange of opinions on the issues related to the establishment of new U.S.–DPRK relations and the building of a lasting and robust peace regime on the Korean Peninsula. President Trump committed to provide security guarantees to the DPRK, and Chairman Kim Jong Un reaffirmed his firm and unwavering commitment to complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.

Convinced that the establishment of new U.S.–DPRK relations will contribute to the peace and prosperity of the Korean Peninsula and of the world, and recognizing that mutual confidence building can promote the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, President Trump and Chairman Kim Jong Un state the following:

The United States and the DPRK commit to establish new U.S.–DPRK relations in accordance with the desire of the peoples of the two countries for peace and prosperity.
The United States and the DPRK will join their efforts to build a lasting and stable peace regime on the Korean Peninsula.
Reaffirming the April 27, 2018 Panmunjom Declaration, the DPRK commits to work toward complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.
The United States and the DPRK commit to recovering POW/MIA remains, including the immediate repatriation of those already identified.
Having acknowledged that the U.S.–DPRK summit—the first in history—was an epochal event of great significance in overcoming decades of tensions and hostilities between the two countries and for the opening up of a new future, President Trump and Chairman Kim Jong Un commit to implement the stipulations in this joint statement fully and expeditiously. The United States and the DPRK commit to hold follow-on negotiations, led by the U.S. Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, and a relevant high-level DPRK official, at the earliest possible date, to implement the outcomes of the U.S.–DPRK summit.

President Donald J. Trump of the United States of America and Chairman Kim Jong Un of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea have committed to cooperate for the development of new U.S.–DPRK relations and for the promotion of peace, prosperity, and security of the Korean Peninsula and of the world.

DONALD J. TRUMP
President of the United States of America

KIM JONG UN
Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea

"A document promising."

The DPRK has made promises or guarantees of ending it's weapons program a dozen previous times.

There are absolutely no mechanisms, contracts, or safeguards in place to inspect, much less guarantee, that North Korea follows through on anything.

There is no allowance for international inspectors or regular inspections.

There is no allowance for oversight from the international community of the denuclearization process.

There is no timetable.

There is no mention of anything except an extremely and intentionally vague promise between the two most dishonest heads of state in the world.

In return Trump stood in front of The DPRK flag honoring the most genocidal and dictatorial regime in modern history.
He praised Kim Jong-Un for his love of the people he enslaves, rapes, starves and executes.

He praised their beautiful beaches and brought up their potential for luxury resorts.

He promised to end all US military exercises in the region. Which he did without discussing it with our allies or even our own military.

Then he came home and declared our own free press America's greatest enemy.

Only a few days after defaming our closest allies and trade partner at The G-7 Summit where he defended Russian economic interests more than America's.

If you do not have any problems with that than I hope you are planning on hiding inside on The 4th of July. That is not a threat of violence. Merely a comment on where you belong on that day.

Because you certainly are not a patriot.

Meanwhile, you have totally ignored the REAL destruction wrought by Obama and Bush. How typical. You lack rationality ... (rationality- the ability to ratio/ compare relative size). How does the actual destruction of nations .... with it attendant loss of life and limb ... compare to the rhetorical "destruction" of NATO or "free trade"? Did anyone get killed? Was infrastructure destroyed? IMHO one event is clearly of much lesser importance that the other.

Just landed - a long trip, but everybody can now feel much safer than the day I took office. There is no longer a Nuclear Threat from North Korea. Meeting with Kim Jong Un was an interesting and very positive experience. North Korea has great potential for the future!
4:56 AM - Jun 13, 2018

It’s not just that Trump spent a year threatening war and is now taking credit for war no longer being on the table. It’s more than that: North Korea is no longer even a nuclear threat, full stop. He’s basically claiming that the mere fact of meeting with Donald Trump has mesmerized Kim Jong Un into dismantling his nuclear arsenal.

The reality is that North Korea still has nuclear weapons. They still have ICBMs. They still have centrifuges. They still have testing facilities. And they’ve made no commitments whatsoever—neither explicitly nor in any other way—to so much as slow down their nuke program, let alone abandon it. And yet, their nuclear threat is over. “Sleep well tonight!” Trump says, here: https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/1006839007492308992

Let's talk about REAL destruction

Quote:

There you go, minimizing the horror of our "interventions", which are bloody and painful to the people that we "help".

During the Vietnam War, I saw a movie called "Hearts and Minds" and it made OUR VICTIMS very real to me, not just some colorless abstraction of "body counts" or tallies of "civilians killed", but people who lived, and then suffered and died at our hands. Mothers crying over the bodies of their babies, children crying over the coffins of their fathers.

It took a documentary movie, with none of the gore removed, to wake me up and make me understand what, exactly, we were doing to the people that we were "helping". Well, I can't make you sit down and watch Hearts and Minds; all I can do is post a few pictures and a few descriptions and hope that, somehow, reality will sink in and horror will follow.

What I find so terrible is that all of you people who CLAIM to be such nice, "caring" people can get so very, very tweaked about a child crying or about some concept like "human rights" can somehow ignore the literal mountains of bodies that we leave in our wake. Well, when I hear a child crying I just want to scoop them up and give them a hug. But let's be clear: This child is not dead, and neither are his or her parents. The problem is fixable, and should be fixed. Maybe we should start by NOT KILLING PEOPLE IN FOREIGN LANDS AND MAKING THEIR NATIONS HELLHOLES. Do you think THAT might be a good start? Or is that just too complicated for you?

Where is your sense of proportion, or reality? Don't you have any sorrow, or pity, or shame?

Apparently not! YOUR only reaction to the pictures of our victims is to attack me, personally, so you can once again deny reality, just as GSTRING's reaction is to attack me personally so that he can continue to minimize the awfulness. Why would you do that? Why would HE do that? Why would ANYone do that?

Sig is so sick she is posting pictures of Putin and Assads handy work and trying to blame the west. Her photo was probably taken at one of the dozens of hospitals they bombed.

Hey Sig, fuck you comrade troll and your bogus lies of suing some of us here. You're sick.

Two-year-old Ali Hussein is pulled from the rubble of his family's home in the Shiite stronghold of Sadr City in Baghdad, Iraq on Tuesday, April 29, 2008. The child, who later died at the hospital, was in one of four homes destroyed by U.S. missiles.

Being russian sig doesn't know a centrist who's a bit of a hawk when she sees one.

I like how she faults Hillary for the destruction of Syria. Anyone with an IQ above 2 knows it happened because Assad started killing protesters in the streets. Protesters who were upset that their children were beaten in the streets because they were protesting.

It isn't until you look at the totality of sigs' opinions that you really start to understand just how fucked up she is.

Why would anyone post those images here? Do you know who those victims are? Killed by Russia?

How 'bout this granny: if this is so important why don't you post your concerns on to Trump's twitter account? How about calling the Pentagon? Contact your congress reps? How about protesting to more than 10 people, most of whom have no respect for you or believe anything you say?

The only reason you post here is to be an agitator, or a Russian Troll, or just a flaming *sshole or all 3. Actually, there's a 4th choice: batsh*t crazy.

SECOND is a troll because it constantly misrepresents what people post, fails to address their actual positions, and resorts to personal attacks when its brain isn't working (which is most of the time).

I answered that question, but I'll answer it again:

Why do you post pictures of children crying as having been separated from their parents when no such thing happened? Why do you post pictures of children in cages that are entirely staged?

Verifiably killed by the USA. I believe I posted links to the attached stories where blame is laid.

A Republican-controlled Senate panel has said that further evidence has been found to support a US intelligence assessment that Russia interfered in the 2016 presidential election to help elect Donald Trump.

The Senate intelligence committee said “information obtained subsequent to publication” of a January 2017 report by US intelligence agencies “provides further support” to the conclusion that Vladimir Putin and his government aimed to discredit Hillary Clinton and boost Trump. No further detail was given.
