1. MICHAEL MOORE
Well, the results of the Presidential election are in and the controversial documentary Fahrenheit 9/11 did not derail a second Bush term. Michael Moore’s box office smash did two things: it mobilized like-minded Americans in a bid to vote a Democrat into office, and it galvanized the opposition in a bid to re-elect Bush. Bush won.

There are a lot of Democrats out there that would just like to say – thanks a lot! MICHAEL!

And now Michael’s alleged “limousine liberal” ways are being exposed in a new documentary entitled “Michael Moore Hates America.” (Incidentally, “Michael Moore Hates America” received a coveted "Thumbs Up" from Roger Ebert when it was reviewed on his program.) The film (hitting theaters in limited release) features regular schlub Mike Wilson who seeks out Moore in an effort to question the controversial filmmaker’s techniques. All Wilson wants is to interview Michael – and ala “Roger and Me,” Moore completely disses the young filmmaker, evading his request for an interview and berating him at a public event. In one particularly damning sequence, Wilson exposes that in Bowling for Columbine the sequence in which the gun is received from the bank was completely stage-managed. The bank employees reveal how Michael set up the entire scene.

“Michael Moore Hates America” takes a hard look at Moore’s methods while dissecting the documentary form itself. It’s a doc that tackles ethical issues when reality gets in the way of a political agenda – and all the while the film remains highly entertaining. Kind of like Michael Moore’s movies…

But, hey, look on the bright side; no Presidential candidate endorsed by Michael Moore has ever won an election. So, Michael, why not endorse a Republican in 2008, just to see what happens? You never know, it might work! But do we really need a sequel to Fahrenheit 9/11?

LOL this is the funniest statement ever...

It's telling that Americans so fear the truth they consistantly attack those who's opinions they don't like... never the opinion.

Typical.

Dude, this is exactly what Ghoulman is talking about. Instead of addressing his point, you're name-calling like a kid on the playground. He stated very civilly that people who don't like Michael Moore's ideas consistently attack him personally and say stupid things like 'MichaelMooreHatesAmerica' instead of talking about his opinion and trying to disprove it. May I suggest that a more honest approach, if you really do disagree with what Moore is saying, would be to call Mr. Moore out on facts he has wrong and site sources to back yourself up, so you look knowledgeable and well-read.

Right now? Not so much.

Well, personally..those sites that were listed do a pretty good job of calling Moore out on his lies and hypocrisy. As for Ghoulman..well I calls it like I see it and refuse to allow him to hijack a thread with shitty snide hatemongering comments.

Two of those sites (I went to all of them) seem to try to make an argument based on information. Those would be the Moorewatch one and the bowlingfortruth site. There was some propoganda and some interesting criticism at both of those.

The others are sheer rightwing hatred-spewing propoganda themselves, without much real content. One of the others actually posted a picture of an obese naked person from behind wearing a dunce cap and suggested (jokingly, of course) that it was Moore. Presumably they are unable to actually do research or make an argument, but for making fun of Moore's weight, they're the site of choice.

The ringing criticsm of Moore from the two best sites is that he twists facts and stages stuff to make his point. I agree with this assessment, but I don't think he does it much more than OUR PRESIDENT does.

So here's the deal. You guys on the right tell your guy (Bush) to play it straight for the FULL HALF of the American people who feel totally un-represented by the current regime. You guys hold all the cards, so you have to go first. Then we'll call off our guy that very minute. We'll make a trade. Outright dishonesty will stop, and we'll have the guys at the top point out ALL of the misconceptions their followers hold and correct those mistaken impressions. Then everyone will know the truth from their very own guy so there won't be any further risk of misinformation.

There is no such thing as a weed.

And this is why people in the rest of the world tend to think most americans are barely functioning retards: OF COURSE IT WAS STAGED - that was bloody obvious from the movie - what the hell did they expect? That we see several weeks of real time?

The only point that matters is: Can you get a gun from the bank - and the answer is yes.

So dishonest "journalism" is admirable? To claim that something is a documentary when it is fabricated hooey is admirable?

The whole point of this topic was a humorous piece put out by a website regarding the insanity that is Michael Moore among other people. A liberal website to boot. Go figure?!

As for the links..well it could be said that Michael Moore is a LEFT WING freak. But hey it's ok to consider his work with respect, even though it's fabricated and staged and twisted and spun to fit his political agenda, yet it is not OK to call him on it. After all, whatever Michael Moore says must be true..after all he is a god in the Fringe left world.

I think we should start staging more things and call them documentaries. I think we should have more people not be able to get an interview with the almighty god , Michael Moore..unless of course you pay him huge dollars to hang on his every word.

As for the retard bit..take a look in the mirror.

So we should be taking Bush and friends seriously, instead?

I'm a former US oil company employee. Michael Moore raises some serious questions which 50% of Americans choose to mock instead of logically debate.

I've one thing to say about this, however: your country, not mine. Glad to see it going down the gutter.

I can surely see why y'all are gettin' a bit fumed at each other. It's ok. I read over those sites too... pretty funny propaganda, like you say. I heard Michael Moore's speech in Utah recently, before the election, and let me tell you, even though his points were good in the bowling for columbine and fahrenheit 911 movies, he is no public speaker. I felt bad for the school that paid him $50,000 for his input. He really didn't say anything. He mooed and booed a lot back at some of the crowd, got one kid thrown out for looking at him funny and gesturing to his pocket, and then he brings out Roseanne... geesh. that's no crowd pleaser either. He was rather annoyingly sarcastic, and I'm on his side! Anyway, I had 2 things I really wanted to say. If y'all really want a moderator to look over your chats and send you an email asking you to be nice, I can talk to one and see what he'll do. And that initial site was way funny. Y'all should read all the way to ben affleck at least. I laughed my butt off at the comments about him.

Touchy, aren't we?

I don't particularly care who you do, or don't, take seriously. I tend to take 'em all with a grain of salt. If you want to believe that Michael Moore's picture of the world is the true one, go right ahead. He's just another blowhard to me, like so many on both sides of the fence.

Of course, if you like your opinions pre-packaged, so you don't have to do any of the work yourself, Mr. Moore's probably fine for you. Your "glad to see it going down the gutter" comment tells me where you're really coming from. Just another in the long line of America haters. Yawn.

Of course, this sentence completely contridicts itself. I'm an America hater? I worked for a US company. For years. It paid my wages. I am very political - I've worked for political parties before. I don't accept any prepackaged opinions.

Of course, we all know that I'm an America-hater (a long line of) because 7 words were interrepted that way on an internet forum.

Do you see the point here?

There are very, very serious questions about the Bush administration, and it's actions over the past 4 years. How can you start an illegal war, based on a lie, without much question? There's lots of questions. History will answer those questions.

It's just completely dishearting to see 50% of the country don't see this.

I find nothing ambiguous about your statement that you're glad to see America (and me with it, I guess) going down the gutter. Seems pretty hateful to me. If I told you I'd like to see you going down the gutter, (I don't, btw. Just an example) how would you interpret that?

I also don't have any doubt that the Bush administration has questions to answer. I'd just prefer that they were asked in a serious forum, rather than through Mr. Moore's carnival of half-truths and self-aggrandizement. While his "guilty until proven innocent" style appeals to you, because you've already made up your mind that the Bushies are guilty (e.g. "How can you start an illegal war, based on a lie...") it turns off many fair-minded people who might otherwise consider his basic arguments.
