Goodbye, kind world (George Monbiot) - In common with all those generations which have contemplated catastrophe, we appear to be incapable of understanding what confronts us.

I literally laughed out loud when I saw that THUGGER started a thread called 'FACTS'. And if I had the power, I would change it to 'FARTS', which is far more truth in advertising.

Also, fwiw, I have literally ZERO interest in anything Trump says. And anyone who pays attention to his endless stream of verbal click bait is either a FOXhound, or an election PTSD sufferer. Neither of which are in touch with reality.

And if democrats don't do anything different, how are they any better?

I figured he was talking about The FACTS Vaccine, which Liberals must receive regularly in order to avoid becoming reasonable, logical, sensible.

John Ratcliffe, Trump’s pick to lead U.S. intelligence claims he arrested 300 illegal immigrants in a single day. He didn’t.

“As a U.S. Attorney, I arrested over 300 illegal immigrants on a single day,” Ratcliffe (R-Tex.) says on his congressional website.

But a closer look at the case shows that Ratcliffe’s claims conflict with the court record and the recollections of others who participated in the operation — at a time when he is under fire for embellishing his record.

Oh I see, prisons staffing shortages is due to a snafu, not Trumps hiring freeze.

Sen. Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.Va., asked Attorney General William Barr why the Department of Justice is proposing cutting the budget for the Bureau of Prisons even though the agency is facing staffing shortages. Barr described the shortages as a “snafu,” largely due to a hiring freeze that was recently lifted as well as bureaucratic problems that could be solved by improving hiring processes.

I'm loving the fact that now it seems Trump has mindfucked the Democrats so hard that he's actually got them screaming that there isn't enough money for our corrupt private prison system.

Is this how Kamilla Harris becomes president?

She'll make sure they get all the funding that they need. Maybe by 2024 we can make sure that 90% of black kids don't have a father at home.

Jesus Christ, will you guys listen to yourselves?

"McCain was a hero."
"Corporate censorship is good."
"Our inner cities are clean and without problems. To say otherwise is racist."
"We need more money for prisons. We need more prison guards."

WTF?

"McCain was a hero." - Both T and SGG have said this.

"Corporate censorship is good." - You have said this.

"Our inner cities are clean and without problems. To say otherwise is racist." - Bernie Sanders and quite a lot of MSM figureheads have said this.

"We need more money for prisons. We need more prison guards." - Both Second, and now T have posted articles saying the reason Epstein is dead is Trump's fault for some bullshit over prison staffing.

As usual, you over simplify and make faulty, sweeping generalizations that miss the mark. Mostly because actually understanding something is too boring for you.

"McCain was a hero." - Both T and SGG have said this.
- I'll let them clarify

"Corporate censorship is good." - You have said this.
- So overly broad as to be laughable.

"Our inner cities are clean and without problems. To say otherwise is racist." - Bernie Sanders and quite a lot of MSM figureheads have said this.
- obvious bullshit, thanks again for the laugh.

"We need more money for prisons. We need more prison guards." - Both Second, and now T have posted articles saying the reason Epstein is dead is Trump's fault for some bullshit over prison staffing.
- again, a lazy response to the facts.

In conclusion: Jack is bored again.

Why don't you start by clarifying, exactly, your position on corporate censorship for us then.

Both T and SGG absolutely called McCain a war hero, after he died, shortly after he came out on record against Trump.

The other two responses you gave are bullshit.

Fine, they can speak to that - I don't speak for them. Do you understand that? What does war hero even mean? Probably different for each person. By almost any definition I'd say he was. But you cited T and second so I'll let them say something if they want.

Find me this citation: "Our inner cities are clean and without problems. To say otherwise is racist." and not from some republican rag that over simpli-lies like you do. To say Sanders said it is another one of your lame falsehoods, so bad I doubt you even believe it.

I clarified my position on what you call "censorship" by private business many times, but your understanding topped out at about half a sentence. Start with "Financial Liability" and go from there.

"We need more money for prisons. We need more prison guards."
Money has been cut for prisons - totally true, or do you dispute that?
One of Epstein's guards was not a trained/experienced correction officer who was filling in in that capacity.

https://washex.am/2yVacBE
"The Associated Press reports one of the two people who were on duty at the jail and in charge of watching Epstein was not a correctional officer. With shortages of trained correctional officers in some federal prisons, they have resorted to using clerical workers and teachers."

Or do you dispute that? Did that lead to his death? Too freaking early. Do you know how Epstein died? So why are you disputing anything yet? It actually could have been suicide. You think he wanted to spend the rest of his life in prison where pedophiles are at the scum at the bottom?

I cited T and SGG. I don't know what Second's opinion on him was.

For the record, in my opinion, he was a pro-war corporatist neocon piece of shit like the Bush family, and closely related to the pro-war corporatist libcon Clintons.

Let's do a comparison here.

Bernie Sanders in 2016: "Residents of Baltimore’s poorest boroughs have lifespans shorter than people living under dictatorship in North Korea. That is a disgrace." https://twitter.com/sensanders/status/728278867639676930

Bernie Sanders in 2019: During an interview with CNN's Jake Tapper, Sen. Bernie Sanders said it is "unbelievable" President Donald Trump attacks Americans and American cities after Trump tweeted Democratic Rep. Elijah Cummings' Baltimore district is a "disgusting, rat and rodent infested mess." https://www.cnn.com/videos/politics/2019/07/28/bernie-sanders-defends-
baltimore-elijah-cummings-trump-tweets-sotu-tapper-sot-vpx.cnn

I'm not going to bother pointing out everyone in the Democratic sphere and the MSM who has called Trump racist for his Baltimore comments. I'm sure you've already read many of them yourself and are in full agreement with them.

It wasn't racist. It was true.

Of course what I said was paraphrased. But if you argue me on how I paraphrased it, stop calling Trump and his supporters racist and using this as an example. Otherwise, my paraphrase was spot on.

Quote:

I clarified my position on what you call "censorship" by private business many times, but your understanding topped out at about half a sentence. Start with "Financial Liability" and go from there.

No. I want you to write it out. In full. In one place. So we can all know exactly what you think.

AT&T just bought Time-Warner. This comes after Disney just bought FOX. We're quickly coming up to a point in time where all of the info in the world is going to be owned by a handful of entities. The internet has been a free place for speech for decades now, and that freedom is under attack in every free nation in the world as we speak.

Tulsi Gabbard was outright blocked from Google searches. She was blocked from Facebook trending. In light of the recent Epstein crap, Facebook blocked any hashtags about the Clintons, but left the equal and opposite hashtags about Trump on the trending page.

Most Democrats are for this. The only two people up on the stage at the debates that seem against it were Tulsi Gabbard and Elizabeth Warren.

Quote:

"We need more money for prisons. We need more prison guards."

News stories immediately came out and said it was a suicide. Not just a "death" or an "alleged suicide". That's not how things work. Ask a cop. You go into a death and the first thing you do is find the evidence that rules out a suicide. ESPECIALLY in a case like this.

Two points I'd like to make here...

1. THERE SHOULD BE FAR LESS PEOPLE IN PRISION THAN ARE CURRENTLY THERE! Democrats used to agree with me on this. Our prisons are packed with non violent drug offenders, aka slave labor. We don't need more money for prisons. We need less people in prison. We need to only be putting people in there that belong there.

2. Don't give me any fucking bullshit stories about Epstein dying because the guy doing laundromat duty was watching the cell. Epstein was possibly the most valuable prisoner the US prison system has seen in 100 years. That pedo motherfucker should have been locked down in the barracks of a random submarine until his court date. Maybe in Fort Knox. Wherever he was, it should have had either a literal TON of oversight and eyes on him all at once, or it should have been a secret place where they would move him to another secret place using unmarked shipping containers or the like to throw off anybody who was trying to kill him.

He did not commit suicide.

WASHINGTON — Elliott Broidy had the kind of past that might have given a more traditional White House reason to keep him at a distance: A wealthy businessman, he had pleaded guilty in 2009 to giving nearly $1 million in illegal gifts to New York State officials to help land a $250 million investment from the state’s pension fund.

How a McConnell-backed effort to lift Russian sanctions boosted a Kentucky project

In January, as the Senate debated whether to permit the Trump administration to lift sanctions on Russia’s largest aluminum producer, two men with millions of dollars riding on the outcome met for dinner at a restaurant in Zurich.

On one side of the table sat the head of sales for Rusal, the Russian aluminum producer that would benefit most immediately from a favorable Senate vote. The U.S. government had sanctioned Rusal as part of a campaign to punish Russia for “malign activity around the globe,” including attempts to sway the 2016 presidential election.

Greenland's leader rips Trump: Idea of buying territory 'not something to joke about'

Greenland's premier on Tuesday denounced President Trump after he shared an edited picture depicting a Trump Tower on the semi-autonomous Danish territory

Kim Kielsen told The Associated Press during a meeting in Iceland featuring Nordic leaders that purchasing the territory "is not something to joke about."

Maybe Trump was too late and the Chinese already bought it.

I'm only half joking. We all know how short term your memories are and if that were to happen you'd be flaming Trump every day until the election about how he let Greenland slip through our fingers and lost to the Chinese.

Tools.

I'm sure they'd be in great hands though. Just ask the people of Hong Kong.

I read the other day that if all the ice around Greenland melted, it's going to raise sea levels by 20 feet. If even half of that happens, most of Florida will be wiped off the map.

I keep wondering if Trump wants to find a way to make that happen so he can sell new coastline...

Or, if you look at a map, Greenland is a straight shot (ok, so part of Canada in in the way) between the US and Russia.

The only thing you can be sure of, is that Chump doesn't want Greenland for ecological preservation reasons.

It'll wipe out the whole East Coast for sure. Probably Trump Tower as well.

Denmark laughed at him so he called off his trip there. I believe it was scheduled for next week. Oh well...dummy is as dummy does.

It's not much bigger than Alaska.

I know when you dummies look at a map that stretches things out disproportionately near the poles it looks like it's about the size of the continental US, but I assure you it's not.

Over the last 24 hours Donald Trump has:

a) Canceled a planned visit to Denmark because they declined to discuss the sale of Greenland.

b) Said the prime minister of Denmark was “nasty” about his proposal to buy Greenland and he’s not going to let her talk to him that way.

c) Accused Jews who support Democrats of being disloyal.

d) Thanked a nutcase conspiracy theorist who said that Israeli Jews “love him like he is the second coming of God.”

e) Confirmed his disloyalty remark: “If you vote for a Democrat, you’re being disloyal to the Jewish people and you’re being very disloyal to Israel.”

f) Explained that Kashmir is a difficult problem because “You have Hindus and you have the Muslims and I wouldn’t say they get along so great.”

g) Told reporters “I am the chosen one” to take on China.

This is not the behavior of a man in control of his faculties. It’s just not.

You DO understand that the ice ISN'T a flat sheet, right??? The ice sheet is over 10,000! feet thick at it's thickest point.

Summer this year is hitting Greenland hard with record-shattering heat and extreme melt. By the end of the summer, about 440 billion tons of ice — maybe more — will have melted or calved off Greenland's giant ice sheet, scientists estimate. That's enough water to flood Pennsylvania or the country of Greece about a foot deep.

In just the five days from July 31 to Aug. 3, more than 58 billion tons melted from the surface. That's over 40 billion tons more than the average for this time of year. And that 58 billion tons doesn't even count the huge calving events or the warm water eating away at the glaciers from below, which may be a huge factor.

Why bother complaining at this point, his base doesn't want to see the Chumpy Springer Show shut down. They lack to faculties to understand they lack the faculties to see what a lack of faculties IS.

AT least hubbs and I are on the same page, should the bloated basshole try to not leave office....I asked what he would do and he said "I took an oath to defend the constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic. The day he tries to not leave office when his time is up is the day I take my firearms and go defend me some constitution."

I am pert near certain that the Trump re-election strategy is as follows:

#1 Piss off as many liberals/Dems as often and as completely as possible. His people LOVE to see Dems and liberalz stepped on and pissed off. AOC upset? HUGE!

We see it here. People post the dumbest shit just to wind up the liberalz and get them to emote.

I seriously think a high % of the people who voted Trump voted for him not FOR him, but because they hated Hillary so much. They would have voted for anyone but her. I can relate - I really freakin' disliked her. So, on a wave of hate. Think about the Trumpers on this board. They have nothing to say positive about Trump. Can you remember one thing? They certainly have nothing to cheer about in terms of "what Trump has done for me." He's done nothing for anyone on this board or any of his devoted minions except the wealthiest 1%. OTHER THAN feed their hatred for all things DEM and Liberal and that means non-whites, immigrants, anyone who is yelling for their time in the sun, the Entitled, the outliers that are lined up wanting to be treated better. I can feel Trump's white America seething about "those people" so they eat this guy up and forgive him his BS and lies and forget how this is also, coincidentally, just what Russia loves to see.

I will say the only thing Trump has done right is to sign the executive order that removes student loan debt for disabled veterans.

But, that should have been done ages ago anyway.

I think my father in law, who is retired and has an injury from Iraq, still had student loans. I hope he uses it to become a better person, but being Trump supporters, I won't hold my breath.

Keep in mind, hubby has partial hearing loss in one ear and has since I've known him because daddy punched him in that ear as a toddler. Yep, a REAL Trumpster.

Did you see that in a movie or something, or have you actually taken a shovel and dug your way to the ground at the bottom?

All the more reason for Denmark to SELL SELL SELL!!!

Especially if it's 10,000 feet of ice.

Then Trump will be stuck with the legacy of buying a worthless island the size of Alaska that's entirely submerged and useless to anybody.

Well... except for the Russians and the Chinese who would be happy to figure out a way to drill for oil there and don't really give a shit if they pull a BP and make the Earth bleed out millions of gallons of gas into our oceans.

Ohhh. The pain. *facepalm*

Yes, they have taken ice cores ALL THE WAY to the bottom of the ice sheet. I actually watched a documentary on them doing it a couple years ago, so I can say YEAH, it's been physically measured.

The deepest ice core records come from Antarctica and Greenland, where the very deepest ice cores extend to 3 kilometers (over two miles) in depth.

PS, Greenland is NOT worthless.

Greenland is believed by some geologists to have some of the world's largest remaining oil resources. ... U.S. Geological Survey found in 2001 that the waters off north-eastern Greenland, in the Greenland Sea north and south of the Arctic Circle, could contain up to 110 billion barrels.

Kind of my point.

Denmark wouldn't have the resources to drill it in a million years.

Thanks for putting the desire to acquire it first in perspective for everyone.

They're a far 36th place.

325 Billion is a literal drop in the bucket.

1 United States 21,482.41 Billion
2 China 14,172.20 Billion
3 Japan 5,220.57 Billion
4 Germany 4,117.07 Billion
5 India 2,957.72 Billion
6 France 2,844.70 Billion
7 United Kingdom 2,809.91 Billion
8 Italy 2,112.80 Billion
9 Brazil 1,929.71 Billion
10 Canada 1,820.36 Billion

36 Denmark 362.15 Billion

Denmark's GDP equals 0.006% of the top 10 countries GDP combined. If they had to spend a dime on military (which they don't because of guess who), they'd be broke in a few months.

No, wishy, they are never going to be able to drill on their own without outside money.
