"No, no, I not a bot. I is reality, you try you see. I has good family, acquaintances. I am real girl."

Why do YOU feel the need to call people ... people that you absolutely don't know btw ... "Russian trolls" and "sock puppets"

Yanno, I should go see a lawyer about that defamation before the statute of limitations runs out ... just to, yanno, provide some consequences to your hostile online behavior.

I happen to know for a fact that KIKI is not my sock puppet because KIKI's posts are't mine. Maybe KIKI and I should arrange to post at the same time to demonstrate that we're independent people.

Just to give you an idea of how the M$M is mind-fucking you, here is CNN's banner headline

DESPITE DAMNING TEXTS, TRUMP SAYS THERE WAS NO QUID PRO QUO

I had to go thru FOUR LINKS to get to [some of the] content of the texts. Even having done that, it was obvious it was an incomplete record. And there, at the very bottom of the fourth link, there was this ...

Quote:

Behind the scenes, concerns were being raised by a senior US diplomat in Ukraine, Bill Taylor, that the aid had been held up.
"Are we now saying that security assistance and WH meeting are conditioned on investigations?" Taylor texted Sondland on September 1.

"Call me," Sondland responded. The context of Taylor's text message is not clear from the messages released by the committee.

A week later, Taylor was even more concerned, texting Sondland: ["As I said on the phone, I think it's crazy to withhold security assistance for help with a political campaign."

Sondland responded, "Bill, I believe you are incorrect about President Trump's intentions. The President has been crystal clear no quid pro quo's of any kind. The President is trying to evaluate whether Ukraine is truly going to adopt the transparency and reforms that President Zelensky promised during his campaign."

Sondland then suggested that if Taylor had additional concerns, he should reach out to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo's assistant.

One of the people I don't see anymore is SHINY. He would get mildly toasted (I think) and then post these over-the-top emotional rants. I know I spent many posts trying to show him how the "free trade" agreements would nullify any environmental, labor, or product safety regulation that interfered with "normal and expected" transnational profits and he kept dismissing it as a pro-Trump talking point. I think the thing that broke SHINY was when I posted a statement by his hero, Elizabeth Warren, saying the very same thing. Then he had to confront THE ISSUE, and not react tribally.

One day, perhaps the rest of the people here will confront issues, and not resort to tribalism, bullying, defamation, and insult when their ability to "discuss" runs out.

"Flat-Out False": WaPo Calls Out Adam Schiff For Lying About Whistleblower

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA) was called out by the Washington Post for claiming last month that his panel had "not spoken directly with the whistleblower" - a CIA employee whose second-hand account of a phone conversation between President Trump and Ukrainian President Volodomyr Zelensky sparked impeachment proceedings.

"Have you heard from the whistleblower? Do you want to hear from the whistleblower? What protections could you provide to the whistleblower?" Schiff was asked during a Sept. 17 interview on MSNBC's "Morning Joe."

"We have not spoken directly with the whistleblower. We would like to," replied Schiff, adding "But I am sure the whistleblower has concerns that he has not been advised, as the law requires, by the inspector general or the director of national Intelligence just how he is supposed to communicate with Congress, and so the risk to the whistleblower is retaliation."

After it was revealed that the whistleblower approached Schiff's panel - which then directed him to a Democrat attorney, the Post gave Schiff four Pinocchios for his statement, which they called "Flat-out false."

"Schiff on 'Morning Joe' clearly made a statement that was false," said the fact-checker. "He now says he’s was answering the wrong question, but if that was the case, he should have quickly corrected the record. He compounded his falsehood by telling reporters a few days later that if not for the [inspector general's] office, the committee would not have known about the complaint. That again suggested there had been no prior communication."

BACKTRACKING TO THE OP

Quote:

Fact Checker Analysis
Schiff’s false claim his committee had not spoken to the whistleblower

Cooper: “Just to be clear, you don’t know who this alleged whistleblower is or what they are alleging?”

Schiff: “I don’t know the identity of the whistleblower.”

Cooper: “And they haven’t contacted you or their legal representation hasn’t contacted you?”

Schiff: “I don’t want to get into any particulars. I want to make sure that there’s nothing that I do that jeopardizes the whistleblower in any way.”

This is a classic dodge — “don’t want to get into any particulars” — and Cooper failed to follow up. Notice how Schiff quickly answered whether he knew the identity of the whistleblower — “I don’t know” — but then sidestepped the questions about whether the committee had been contacted. But in doing so, he managed not to mislead; he just simply did not answer the question.

Sept. 17, interview on “Morning Joe”

Sam Stein: “Have you heard from the whistleblower? Do you want to hear from the whistleblower? What protections could you provide to the whistleblower?” …

Schiff: “We have not spoken directly with the whistleblower. We would like to. But I am sure the whistleblower has concerns that he has not been advised, as the law requires, by the inspector general or the director of national Intelligence just how he is supposed to communicate with Congress, and so the risk to the whistleblower is retaliation.”

This is flat-out false. Unlike the quick two-step dance he performed with Anderson Cooper, Schiff simply says the committee had not spoken to the whistleblower. Now we know that’s not true.

The House Intelligence Committee has obtained a series of text messages that went back and forth this summer between the acting ambassador to Ukraine, Bill Taylor, and two of Donald Trump’s roving troubleshooters for Ukraine, Gordon Sundland and Kurt Volker.

Trump offered fame and fortune to the President of Ukraine in exchange for Ukraine torpedoing Biden for Trump. The details are here:
www.motherjones.com/kevin-drum/2019/10/text-messages-dive-deeper-into-
trumps-extortion-of-ukraine
/

Adding all this to the transcript of the July 25 phone call makes it obvious to anyone over the age of five what’s going on. Both the White House and conservative media have already taken the position that, sure, Trump extorted Ukraine to investigate a political opponent, but the Bidens totally deserved it. But the Federal Election Commission made it 100% clear to the American public and anyone running for public office: It is illegal for any person to solicit, accept, or receive anything of value from a foreign national in connection with a U.S. election.

CIA's top lawyer made criminal referral on whistleblower's complaint about Trump conduct

WASHINGTON — Weeks before the whistleblower's complaint became public, the CIA's top lawyer made what she considered a criminal referral to the Justice Department about the whistleblower's allegations that President Donald Trump abused his office in pressuring the Ukrainian president, U.S. officials familiar with the matter tell NBC News.

That reads to me like it is illegal for American politicians to accept bribes. I can't imagine how you might look at something of non-monetary value. So I suppose that might include Hillary soliciting funds from Saudi Arabia, but not include Obama soliciting help in "investigating" Trump. And where does that place Burisma providing a nice cozy sinecure for the son the the VP?

Why can't you just accept that Dems are just as dirty as the GOP, and probably dirtier than Trump?

Not that the following story will change your mind, but I do have many decades of experience with many, many Trump voters and I have come to conclusions about them, conclusions they would feel are unfair if they knew. On with the story (where you substitute the word "GOP" for cult and "Trump" for UFO. You will get the idea as you read):

When you're evaluating persuasive arguments about something strange, there are two perspectives you can choose, the inside one or the outside one.

Say that some people show up at your front door one day wearing funny robes, asking you if you will join their movement. They believe that a UFO is going to visit Earth two years from now, and it is our task to prepare humanity for the Great Upbeaming.

The inside view requires you to engage with these arguments on their merits. You ask your visitors how they learned about the UFO, why they think it's coming to get us—all the normal questions a skeptic would ask in this situation.

Imagine you talk to them for an hour, and come away utterly persuaded. They make an ironclad case that the UFO is coming, that humanity needs to be prepared, and you have never believed something as hard in your life as you now believe in the importance of preparing humanity for this great event.

But the outside view tells you something different. These people are wearing funny robes and beads, they live in a remote compound, and they speak in unison in a really creepy way. Even though their arguments are irrefutable, everything in your experience tells you you're dealing with a cult.

Of course, they have a brilliant argument for why you should ignore those instincts, but that's the inside view talking.

The outside view doesn't care about content, it sees the form and the context, and it doesn't look good.

I'm going to be just fine. I could easily live off of the SS payments at 62 for the rest of my life when that time comes even if I didn't work another day in my life to add to it, not to mention my house will be paid for, I have zero debt to anybody, money in the bank and I don't have any kids to put through college.

And I don't spend my days buying a bunch of shit I don't need like everybody else either.

Yup. I'll be good. My niece is going to have quite a gift waiting for her when I'm gone too. Probably won't be early enough to pay for her college before she's ready, but maybe she'll be able to pay off the debts after the fact.

Here’s What Russian Disinfo Sites Want You to Believe About Impeachment

Kremlin-backed media is parroting Trump’s attacks on the Bidens and pushing his fantasies of a deep state coup

The particulars of the Ukraine scandal make a natural fit for the Kremlin’s playbook for destabilizing western democracies: sowing distrust of authority and turning corruption into a “both sides” problem, encouraging citizens to resign themselves to grift and propaganda. That Russian media has jumped on stories that paint the scandal as a deep state coup — a theory that Trump himself has dangerously expounded during the Mueller investigation — is predictable.

The outside view doesn't care about content, it sees the form and the context, and it doesn't look good.

So what you're saying is ...

A man comes to your door when you're sick. He explains that illnesses are caused by little animals that are so tiny you can't even see them. He makes a complete but confusing case that he has made these invisible creatures visible by using something called a "lens" and bending something called "light rays". He explains that he can kill these invisble animals in your body with a medicine.

Your shaman comes to the door and tells you this man is crazy, and that you need the holy smoke to be one with the gods again, and reverse the curse that has been put on you.

What do you do?

Dear daughter and I happened to be following an Amazon Prime van. She noticed a few gizmos over the back doors of the van; I realized they were a small camera and a small floodlight. The camera had a 360 lens. I explained to dear daughter that the camera could see and record the delivery person all the way from the van's back door to the customer's front door. It would prevent customers from claiming that a package had never been delivered. It would also prevent employees from stealing. I explained that Amazon pays its employees like shit and treats them like shit, and therefore some employees might seek to boost their pay with theft.

It's too bad that the camera system can't stop porch pirates. Theft has become rampant in our neighborhood, with people coming in from other neighborhoods to steal from porches, cars, and houses. Sunce this is CA, and most of these people are Hispanic, it's unlikely that they're Trump supporters.

Jeez, get a grip.

Why wont the trolls accept the fact that defending against a wrong doesn't work, if you don't address the facts as they exist, instead of pointing to other wrongs committed by others. Wrong doings that in most cases is nothing more than propaganda.

I actually don't need trolls to answer the question, because it too will be bullshit and I won't be reading it. Instead just let me say, shoo troll.

SECOND, if you haven't figured out my point, all you're saying is that when confronted with a narrative with compelling internal logic, but that is at odds with the narrative that you've already learned (which has its own internal logic), you reject the unfamiliar in favor of the familiar. That's all that you mean by "inside" (when you follow the logic of the other narrative) versus "outside" (when you stick with the narrative that you're familiar with. Even if you don't explicitly know what your internal logic is, it generates a "gut feeling".)

Limiting yourself to either reaction is pretty silly. The question is HOW DO YOU HANDLE FUNDAMENTALLY NEW INFORMATION?

DO you handle new information?

We are taught from our first moments what to look for and how to see things. Literally, how to see things. When you give something a name, you make it a "thing". There was a neuroscientist who did an experiment on his daughter ... he never used the word "blue" to describe a color just to see how long it would take her to natively see it. IIRC, it took something like five or six years before she realized there was this other color.

Our culture gives us a filter to sift experiences. That filter extends to abstract things as well ... how nature works, gravity and electrons, how humans behave, how people are SUPPOSED to behave, money, society...

Sometimes, we see the same things in an entirely different way, and whole new picture comes into focus and it makes crystal clear sense. HOLY FUCK! moments. Those moments are blessed; it's called inspiration. Like the guy who saw the world map and thought that Africa and the Americas once fitted together.

But most of the time, it's kind of an intellectual slog.

When someone shows me a new way of looking at something, I don't trust it, but I do try to understand it. If I react negatively to it, I have to ask myself WHY. What assumption is it countervening? Is that assumption wrong? Has my assumption failed to predict or explain past events? Does the new way of looking at things work better to explain and predict the world? Does it make sense? How does it impact other things that I know? Sometimes I reject, partially or in whole, what I'm hearing. Sometimes I accept part of it. However, I've been exposed to so many new PsOV that I no longer freak out when I hear them. I have a large mental warehouse called "interesting if true" and I can pull those pieces out from time to time and see if they fit the picture puzzle that is the world.

MAKES SENSE TO ME

Quote:

One way or another, this is it. This is the part where the global capitalist ruling classes teach us all a lesson. The lesson they intend to teach us is the same old lesson that masters have been teaching slaves since the dawn of slavery.

The lesson is, “abandon hope.”

The lesson is, “resistance is futile.”

The lesson is, “shut up, eat your tofu, get back to work at your three gig jobs, service your school loans and your credit card debt, vote for who and what we tell you, and be grateful we don’t fucking kill you. Oh, yeah … and if you want to rebel against something, feel free to take up identity politics, or to march around town with posters of Saint Greta demanding that we stop destroying the planet. We’ll get right on that, don’t you worry.”

What? You thought this had a happy ending, that Trumpenstein and the Bride of Trumpenstein were going to ride off into the orange sunrise at Mar-a-Lago in a Trump-branded golf cart, having made America great again … or that Bernie was going to storm the castle, vanquish Trumpenstein, and set up something resembling basic social democracy?

I told you it was a horror film, didn’t I?

So, I listen to old news, in this case NBC, to refresh my memory of how the news is morphed to maintain the narrative even as 'facts' fail. 'Facts' are dropped day by day from newscast to newscast, never to reappear.

Here are a few highlights of the ever-changing 'facts' about Ukrainegate.

background timeline
Trump-Zelensky phone call reported Sept 20, 2019
News reports are full of references to 'promises', 'quid pro quo', and 'pressure'
Pelosi announces formal impeachment hearings Sept 24, 2019
Trump-Zelensky phone call transcript released Sept 25, 2019
News reports replace references to 'promises', 'quid pro quo', and 'pressure' with 'ask' without notice or retraction of previous reporting
Whistleblower complaint released Sept 26, 2019
News reports drop references to knowledge without notice or retraction of previous reporting

It was a whistleblower (a mole)
With knowledge (gossip)
About 'promises made' that were (no promises)
Putting national security at risk (no risk)
For a quid pro quo (no quid pro quo).

Well there were no promises, but there was pressure (no pressure)
For a quid pro quo (no quid pro quo).

And Giuliani broke several laws by negotiating with Ukrainian officials (there were no meetings or communications).

Pelosi claims placement of transcript on server is a 'cover-up' (Obama did the same) // (NBC) "it was made clear to the Ukrainian government that access to President Trump depended on its willingness to "play ball""

Still listening and will post more soon.

Check this reality: Trump is reportedly blaming Rick Perry for his infamous call with the Ukrainian president.

Reported Saturday, Trump told House Republicans on Friday that he hadn't even wanted to call Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky — and that he had only done so at the urging of Energy Secretary Rick Perry. Perry is resigning shortly, making a convenient goat for Trump.

Here are a few highlights of the ever-changing 'facts' about Ukrainegate.

A highlight that has remained unchanged from the beginning:

Trump said that if he is impeached, it won’t be due to the fact that he violated his oath of office by inviting foreign governments to interfere in the American democratic process. His downfall will instead be precipitated by a shadowy cabal of partisan Democrats, bent on overthrowing him — and American democracy, by proxy — through corrupt and illegitimate means.

Another unchanging highlight: Trump encourages assault and murder of his political opponents during impeachment and after. There is little chance that the FBI or the Justice Department will heed the president’s demand to arrest and jail California Representative Adam Schiff for “treason” and “fraud.” But there’s a very real chance that Trump’s supporters will decide that violence is the only appropriate response and act accordingly.

That risk is well-established. On the eve of the 2018 midterm elections last year, more than a dozen pipe bombs were mailed to frequent targets of Trump’s criticism: the Obama and Clinton families, multiple Democratic members of Congress, other liberal officials and donors, and the news network CNN.

In a different case, federal agents arrested Coast Guard lieutenant Christopher Hassan on firearms charges. In their motion to hold him before trial, prosecutors laid out a disturbing plot by Hassan to carry out a wave of assassinations against prominent Democrats and journalists.

In August of 2016, Trump warned rally-goers that if Clinton appointed federal judges there would be “nothing you can do, folks,” then added, “although the Second Amendment people, maybe there is, I don’t know.” In August, ABC News reported that it had found 36 criminal cases nationwide where Trump’s name was invoked by defendants who committed or threatened to commit violent acts. The network said it found no state or federal cases where defendants claimed they acted in the name of Barack Obama or George W. Bush.

Americans are receiving a disturbing set of messages from Trump: that Democrats have brought the country to the brink of civil war, that speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi’s effort to impeach the president is an illegitimate coup, and that liberals’ open-borders policies will make it impossible for Republicans to win future elections. The majority of Trump supporters won’t respond to this by picking up a rifle. But some will.

The specter of potential violence shouldn’t deter lawmakers from pushing forward with the impeachment process. If anything, it underscores why Trump’s impeachment is a moral imperative.

Where do you get your info?

Political cartoons, historically almost entirely drawn by partisans with an agenda.

Polls, without looking into the methodology or even bothering to look at an aggregate to at least balance them out and monitor them for trends.

Claims by politicians, without doing any fact checking to see if they're full of shit or not (hint: They're almost always full of shit).

Claims by anonymous sources, which is the media's get out of jail free card for falsifying any story it wants to put out there.

Whistleblower’s attorney says team now representing ‘multiple’ officials

An attorney for the whistleblower who raised the alarm about President Trump’s communications with Ukraine said Sunday that “multiple” whistleblowers have come forward.
The news, which comes as House Democrats have launched an impeachment inquiry and are subpoenaing the White House for documents, adds to the deepening political crisis facing the president.

Huh.

This sounds like the same "pile on" that propelled the RUSSIA!RUSSIA!RUSSIA! hoax. Which led to nowhere

Also, the same "pile on" that was orchestrated for the Kavanaugh hearing. Which also fizzled.

This will all turn out to be Much Ado About Nothing but the deep state is pulling out all the stops, and the production has been arranged to play from now until Nov 2020.
