I am not seeing a thread for BLM or current Antifa fascists like I expected, so I'll start one here with a more pertinent, non-racist and equal title.

Lots of too sensible comments contained wherein:

The WNBA is embracing its role in the current anti-racist political movement, but one team owner says that politics can and should be removed from sports.

Georgia Republican Senator and Atlanta Dream co-owner Kelly Loeffler is against the WNBA’s plans to support the Black Lives Matter movement, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Loeffler wants less politics in sports

Loeffler reportedly wrote a letter to WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert on Tuesday, asking her to put American flags on warmup jerseys instead of “Black Lives Matter” and “Say Her Name.” The reason? Loeffler wrote that supporting a “particular political agenda undermines the potential of the sport and sends a message of exclusion.”

“The truth is, we need less — not more politics in sports,” Loeffler wrote, via the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “In a time when polarizing politics is as divisive as ever, sports has the power to be a unifying antidote. And now more than ever, we should be united in our goal to remove politics from sports.”

WNBA players call for Loeffler’s removal

A handful of current and former WNBA players have publicly called for the league to remove Loeffler as Dream co-owner.

After Loeffler, a supporter of the Second Amendment, said that armed Black protesters in Atlanta were practicing “mob rule,” Dream guard Renee Montgomery pointed out that Loeffler’s Second Amendment support goes only so far.

Not true.

Fascist and molester and rapist and mass shooter lives don't matter.

Also, people who talk in the theater without a face mask.

I guess that includes YOU, WISHY.

All lives matter.

It's the a sensible idea; who could be against it? (Except fascists like WISHY who wants to be judge, jury, and executioner for billions of people.)

Unfortunately, you can get in a lot of trouble for voicing such an innocuous thought.

Do you know what this reminds me of? The Reign of Terror under Robespierre, when people were too terrified to demur against mob violence, because it would be off to the guillotine for them too! Or Mao's Cultural Revolution, when anyone suspect of being less than fervent would be subject to "criticism and self criticism" sessions that would lead to broken bones, "re-education camp", or death.

The funny thing is the BLM organization is actually being supported by large companies and at this point has hundreds of millions in its coffers.

People really should be suspect of the underlying motives of the BLM leadership.

Stupid people don't know they're stupid, and they certainly don't realize how obvious it is to others.

Ronald Reagan spoke often of America as a shining city on a hill: a prosperous, free, and virtuous model for the nations of the world. Is Trump's Republican Party living up to that vision of our potential? Has your party left you?

I actually happen to agree with Nilbog here, in a way, although I don't think anybody should be the arbiter of sussing out who should stay and who should go. Her previous post history illustrates why she shouldn't be in charge of making that decision.

It doesn't matter what the color of your skin is, your sexual organs, your religious practices, your sexuality or any other box the Marxists on the left take great pleasure in putting everybody into.

Some Lives Matter. Some Lives Don't.

The problem with this statement, although it is very true, is that once you agree that it is a truth, your thoughts on which are which are going to be entirely subjective. How many matter? How many don't? What is the criteria?

It's an impossibility for any human being to objectively look at this statement and come up with an unbiased answer.

History also shows us that this last statement is true.

Yanno, the history that we're allowing Marxists on the left to burn to the ground right now.

Do Right, Be Right. :)

Goodbye, kind world (George Monbiot) - In common with all those generations which have contemplated catastrophe, we appear to be incapable of understanding what confronts us.

If we're to believe the thoughts of the Enlightenment on the topic, and if we want to defend our Constitution, then yes, this is our shared ideal in the US. All Lives Matter.

Of course, in this, like in any ideal, one can always fall short.

So I guess the question is - should we strive for this ideal or abandon it?

I'd point out places where the exact opposite was the ideal - for example, Nazi Germany where only the pure Nazi-believing, healthy, Germanic-templated-DNA lives mattered; or Pol Pot's Cambodia where only the historically untainted, politically fanatical lives mattered. Or I could point out our own sotto voce economic ideal where only the wealthy and powerful matter in the grand scheme of how this place is run, and everyone else is subject to disposal at any time, depending on the economic outlook for tptb .

So I conclude on a purely self-interested basis, everyone should strive for this ideal that all lives matter. The life you save may be your own.

I think, SIX, that the phrase needs to be rewritten to satisfy your literalness.

Clearly, in current society, all lives DON'T matter. In fact, as KIKI pointed out, MOST live don't matter. If you were to listen in on how the wealthy elite look on the rest of the world - including us- you would hear things like But we can move these simple assembly jobs to China because wages are very low, and headquarter in Ireland where taxes are very low. Haiti continues to be a source of profits for our fast-food operations, and a great source of human body parts for transplanation. We continue to squeeze bond payments from Southern Europe under extreme austerity, and if they don't we get their infrastructure. We continue to profit handsomely from healthcare systems and GMOs

So, how about

All lives SHOULD matter?

Back to the BLM/Antifag bullsh!t for a sec.

I Saw yesterday some bimbo in an ad, some athlete, jabbering about how she must teach her children that they must act differently because they are a different skin color.
She just doesn't get it.

If she really, truly thinks that in order to "act her color" she must always commit crimes, break all rules of civility and society, fight anybody whenever possible, and resist arrest every time, then she remains completely deluded.

If abiding the law is "acting differently" than her norm, then YES, she should conform to normal civil behavior by changing her actions.

Passing Counterfeit currency like George Floyd, attempting murder like Trevon Martin, these are not the normal activities of folk who don't want to have their freedoms and futures taken away by Law Enforcement.

People die every day. But to purposely court Detention by La Enforcement and then pretend innocence is not the best way to avoid unneeded conflict.

She should tell her kids to act like other people, respect authority and abide the laws.

That's not where I was going with it, but your response further illustrates my point.

Some Lives Matter is going to mean a lot of different things to a lot of different people.

Most lives really don't matter. Not just because in 2020 they don't have a clear cut function in society, but because most people are just pretty shitty. And just like it has nothing to do with any of those boxes above, it's not class or riches specific either.

At least that's the way I look at the statement.

Do Right, Be Right. :)
