DHS AND Trump called it the most secure election ever. Given that all his bullshit lawsuits were thrown out because he had no PROOF, I think it's safe to say Trump lost, and not by a little.

He got smoked. America hates him, and we want him to go away.

His insistence that it was rigged is to be expected from a narcissistic cult leader. NO other president has acted like that.

With such a mental trainwreck as Trump in office, there is no normal. Normal is out the window. It is and always was only about his ego.

He can't accept failure, because in his mind, he is a legend and a huge success.

From RUSSIA!!!RUSSIA!!!RUSSIA!!!. But not from internal home-grown potential malfeasance.

And ... NOBODY running the elections is going to say they were rigged! you nitwit. That'd be like them saying they themselves were corrupt, incompetent, or both.

But there are potential red flags, JUST LIKE THERE WERE IN 2004 ... except even more-so.

† the discrepancy between presidential votes and senatorial votes

† the pattern of vote-shift over time from what should have been random reassortment of mail-in ballots

† the discrepancy between exit polls and votes (that was the sole reason for the statistical analysis of the 2004 vote)

† a comparison between places that voted for Biden and those that didn't when it comes to historical, time-dependent, and vote-comparison anomalies

These things should be looked at by a completely independent organization using statistical experts - just like after the 2004 elections - and which generated the Mitofsky Report. This examination should be TOTALLY apolitical, because at this point neither party is trusted by about half of Americans to be truthful and unbiased.

And if statistical anomalies are found, like in the Mitofsky Report, THIS TIME they need to be followed up on, to find the cause(s)- and fix it(them).

The 2004 election was definitely rigged. Though how that happened nobody knows since the issue was dropped like a hot potato by BOTH parties, and there was no follow-up.

What about THIS time? Do you have any basic disagreement with a thorough examination of the vote? (Of course you do!) And why?

My argument is this: if I may take a page from Signy, who posts "I believe in solving problems, not sharing them.", after 2004, why do we still have our rickety, hodgepodge, error AND fraud prone voting system? Don't our politicians care to fix it?

And if democrats don't do any different, how are they any better?

Voting doesn't matter anymore.

It's a sham, through and through.

They got their Establishment candidate they wanted in 2004, they got their Establishment candidate they wanted in 2020.

Joe Biden is GWB.

Do Right, Be Right. :)

RF, the question still is ...

What about THIS vote?

Do you have any basic disagreement with a thorough examination of the vote? (Of course you do! Or you wouldn't have spent all those posts arguing against it.)

And why?

Maryland Republican Kimberly Klacik sets new standard for election denial | COMMENTARY https://www.baltimoresun.com/opinion/editorial/bs-pr-ed-1112-klacik-tr
ump-fraud-claims-20201111-2lijoz4fmnazrf372jg6g3ehk4-story.html

If failed Maryland congressional candidate Kimberly Klacik’s goal was to reveal how ridiculous President Donald Trump’s claims of voter fraud are and how absurd his refusal to admit defeat, she could scarcely have devised a better scheme than to cast herself as a similar Election Day victim.

After all, Ms. Klacik did not merely lose (for the second time in seven months) her bid to capture the 7th district seat once held by the late Rep. Elijah Cummings, she was defeated in something akin to an electoral tsunami. For most political observers, this was absolutely no surprise.

She fared only slightly better than Republican candidates have in this Democratically gerrymandered district in elections past. But Ms. Klacik decided to go full Trump and post on social media baseless suggestions of fraud along with the false claim that she actually beat her opponent, Rep. Kweisi Mfume, on “day of & in-person early voting, along with absentee," when, in reality, she lost to him in all three categories, and overall by a vote of 72% to 28%.
---
It looks like she won, if you discard all the votes she didn't receive.

Fox Business Network host Lou Dobbs is all-in on President Donald Trump’s absurd, scattershot, and completely baseless conspiracy theories that he has somehow won the 2020 election — and he will accept no Republican dissent from this alternate reality.

Speaking with Congressman Devin Nunes (R-CA) on his show on Friday evening, the stridently pro-Trump Fox host demanded to know why the rest of the GOP has not stepped up to defend the president’s election fraud claims, even as they are refuted by his own government and continue to fall apart under the slightest scrutiny.

“You know, the president doesn’t want a statue erected to him. What he wants is a free and fair election and honest results,” Dobbs angrily said to Nunes.

“Right…” Nunes began.

“And it’s being denied to him…Dobbs said, cutting off the Congressman while notably citing no proof to back up his false claim. “It’s outrageous, and what I — if I may — what I’d like to know is what in the hell is the Republican Party doing to defend and to, I mean, why not just say we’re not going to accept the results of this election? It’s outrageous.”

It took an entire team of 9 statisticians, a lawyer, and an organization with a will to know, to show that the 2004 election was rigged. (Mitofsky Report)

Do you think (now THAT'S a question!) that someone is just going to glance at some ballots and figure 2020 out? Or that anyone involved is going to admit it if it means jail-time?

But wouldn't YOU want a team of completely independent, non-partisan academicians looking at 2020 to unscramble the obvious troubling numbers?

And why not.

And if democrats don't do any different, how are they any better?

Go and do the work, but you also need a clear plan, written before you start work and making your plan/purpose public information, about what will happen with the work once it is completed. Will you be using it to write a hit list for assassinating politicians who cheated to get into office? Will you use it to promote the GOP? Use it to undermine Democracy? Will you use it as a PhD dissertation? Use it as part of a criminal investigation? What is your purpose?

'That Was in the Teleprompter': Fox News Host Casts Doubt on News He Just Read About Lack of Voting Irregularities

ox-news-host-casts-doubt-on-news-he-just-read-about-lack-of-voting-irregularities/ar-BB1b15a9?ocid=uxbndlbing

Mediaite reporter Colby Hall described the moment as "the dissonance between the news and opinion side at Fox News neatly displayed in one 30 second clip."

There is an apparent discord between the Trump-friendly network's more traditional news programming and its opinion programming, which includes the likes of Fox & Friends and Tucker Carlson Tonight.

The Fox News news desk has projected Biden as president-elect and became one of the first major networks to call Arizona for the Democratic candidate, a decision that reportedly made Trump irate.

Trump's repeated claims of widespread voter fraud and other election irregularities have arrived without substantial evidence, and the campaign's legal challenges to ballot counts in several states Trump lost have seen little success in the courts.

Two Department of Homeland Security executive committees released a joint statement on Thursday calling the 2020 election the "most secure in American history."

But Hegseth has previously suggested there could be instances of widespread voter fraud. On the November 7th Fox & Friends Weekend broadcast, Hegseth and his two co-hosts sparred over the topic.

Addressing whether the "potential fraud" is "systemic" and "enough to swing the election" back in Trump's favor, Hegseth said it seemed reasonable for Americans belonging to any political party to question the results and say: "'I don't have trust in institutions and I want to verify. I just want to make sure that all of this is on the up and up.'"

Co-host Jedediah Bila responded to Hegseth's remark, asserting that allegations of widespread voter fraud "need to be backed up," which she wasn't seeing.

"When you say this stuff, it makes people feel like they can't trust our democratic process, that they can't trust the electoral process," Bila told Hegseth. "If that is truly the case, if there is widespread, massive fraud happening that could affect the outcome of this election, then we need to know about it. However, if that is not happening, then these statements can be incredibly dangerous in terms of how voters view the process. We have to be able to trust this process."

Hegseth responded that while he agreed "allegations of fraud or irregularities need to be backed up by evidence," restoring faith in the electoral system "does not depend on asking people to have faith in the most irregular election in our history."

"The way you restore faith is by putting the evidence and research and investigation into ensuring that is the case," Hegseth said.

Bila once again asked for an example of such evidence. Will Cain, the program's third co-host, told her: "You have to look in order to get it, Jed."

Meanwhile, one week has passed since the Trump campaign, along with the Republican Party, began looking for tangible proof that could back up its claims of fraud inside a courtroom, producing few results. One campaign lawyer broke with Trump's messaging while appearing in an Arizona court on Thursday, claiming that the campaign is "not saying anyone is trying to steal the election" but rather "good faith errors" were made during the ballot count.

The campaign withdrew the lawsuit the next day, which had requested that a number of ballots be recounted in the state claiming Biden's lead in Arizona is too big to make a difference, CNBC reported.

Those are all part of YOUR playlist.

What I've repeated over and over through the years is that the US had never really used the power of the vote.

But for that vote to be effective, it first needs to be HONEST. (You ARE familiar with the concept, aren't you?) What could be so bad about making sure the vote is HONEST?

And if it's found that the vote has been monkeyed with - as it obviously was in 2004 - then the system needs to be fixed to eliminate those vulnerabilities that allow manipulation.

Ask yourself why there is still an electoral college despite the fact that guys who dreamed it up decided it did not work as intended? Almost none of the Founding Fathers’ assumptions about the electoral system proved true. For one example from many: The assumption was that each elector’s vote would be counted. But over time, all but two states (Maine and Nebraska) passed laws to give all of their electoral votes to the candidate who wins the state’s popular vote count. Less than 50% of the popular votes would still give 100% of the electoral vote from the state to one candidate. Any semblance of elector independence has been fully wiped out.

1kiki, ask yourself why the American voting system is ridiculous. It is a fact that elections in America have thousands of different governing bodies controlling Federal elections, doing things differently in each county, but in other countries there is only 1 governing body. Why does America have a completely ridiculous setup? For one example of a rational election system: Elections Canada is the non-partisan agency responsible for the conduct of elections in Canada, including federal elections, by-elections and referendums. It is headed by the Chief Electoral Officer.

Well. Ahem. Since the numbers of democrat-voting people are about equal to the numbers of republican-voting people, what I see looking at all that red is that there's a lot of empty dirt in a lot of the country. And last I knew, dirt doesn't get to vote.

But I think what your map shows is how vastly different the lives are that people lead in different areas of the country. Red areas a exceptionally rural. And blue areas are highly metropolitan.

Go right ahead and examine it. That will do no good because it has been examined for 200 years and yet still has not been fixed. The voting system has thousands of different government authorities operating it, but that is a ridiculous way to build a system, unless you want thousands of different ways to cheat. Apparently, the thousands of different counties want a way for the local big shots to change the vote count in those counties. I guess your complete disinterest in the fact that no other country has an electoral college, another system that never worked as intended, explains a great deal about you. That system doesn't get changed because it allows cheating and manipulation by the state governments. See the 2000 Election for how that worked to the advantage of Florida governor Jeb Bush, who wanted his brother to be President.

Our election system, along with everything else about our government, is due to politicians selling out. There are only a few who don't. That's how the game is played, thanks to a court decision that was hailed by the right, not the left.

We will not have representative democracy until that is fixed, and it looks like the Republicans will refuse and resist all the way.

The rallying cry among the trumptards is, "The brown people stole the election because they voted!"

They hate that.

Goodbye, kind world (George Monbiot) - In common with all those generations which have contemplated catastrophe, we appear to be incapable of understanding what confronts us.

I post to SECOND and RF answers. I post to RF and SECOND answers. How interesting.

RF is an idiot. It's that simple.

It's sad that a Russian troll thinks we don't know they're a Russian troll.

No wonder Russia never accomplished much.

But I think what your map shows is how vastly different the lives are that people lead in different areas of the country. Red areas a exceptionally rural. And blue areas are highly metropolitan.

That US election map can be soooo misleading for simpleton Trumpers. "It looks like the majority of the US is pro-Trump! Stolen election! Count the votes - no, don't count the votes!"

1 person, 1 vote would solve that and gerrymandering - seems simple until it isn't. While I'm here: term limits for all representatives and SCOTUS. "For life?" No way that's good common sense.

Actually, it was TRUMP who cheated. Republicans stuffed ballot boxes with millions of fake votes, and they were all counted. It just wasn't enough.

Prove me wrong.

Georgia recount is returning almost no changes in vote tallies that give Biden win

According to the article Trump is now calling the recount a scam and saying it means nothing.

So they get a recount and then reject it because the outcome isn’t favorable to them? Who’s really trying to steal the election?

The deafening silence of Republican senators on Donald Trump's increasingly erratic behavior

Surely this increasingly erratic behavior -- particularly concerning the necessary transition to the oncoming administration of President-elect Joe Biden -- would lead Republican elected officials to step in, en masse, to condemn him and insist that the time has come for him to step aside? Right? RIGHT?!?!
Uh, wrong.
"We invited every single Republican senator to appear here on @MeetThePress this morning," NBC's Chuck Todd said Sunday morning. "They all declined."

Georgia SoS Brad Raffensperger says Sen. Lindsey Graham asked him if it would be possible to toss all mail ballots in places where there were higher rates of signature mismatch. Raffensperger said he was stunned. Yes Lindsey Graham attempted election fraud.

As always, the only election fraud ever found comes exclusively from the reichwing.
