Since you and Bill Maher are giving free advice to liberals about how to make themselves acceptable to Trump lovers (which is a worthless task knowing first hand what a bunch assholes Trump lovers are) let me give you some free advice, 6ix: Go fuck yourself. If liberals made themselves acceptable, it would be exactly the same as abolitionists dropping their anti-slavery stand so that Lincoln would have gotten a few more votes from slave-owners.

Abraham Lincoln took Bill Maher’s advice. In 1864 Lincoln ran under the banner of the National Union Party, rather than the Republicans. “Republican” had a bad reputation as being anti-slavery and all that other leftist bullshit. Oh my goodness! That could lose some votes! Maher could tell Lincoln the name change will fool the voters. Lincoln even switched to a new Vice President in order to fool even more voters about his intentions. Having an actual slave-owning V.P. was the winning combination in that election, except V.P. Andrew Johnson became the worst President in history.

Lincoln in heaven was pleased he won in 1864, but Johnson did as much as he could to make sure slavery remained, except with a new name. How did he do that? Pardoning millions of Confederates so that they could keep ALL their land and personal property, except the slaves, and eventually get back into power rather than go to prison or being executed. The voters in the North responded well to the National Union Party of President Johnson. In Ohio, Connecticut, and Minnesota they turned down propositions to grant African Americans the vote. There were many more bad results, all because Lincoln wanted to muddle the message to voters that Republicans are anti-slavery. When Lincoln tried to confuse things and smooth off the sharp edges with the voters, the results would eventually be terrible for the ex-slaves.
