I am drawing up Articles of Impeachment.

Donald J. Trump should be impeached by the House of Representatives & removed from office by the United States Senate.

We can’t allow him to remain in office, it’s a matter of preserving our Republic and we need to fulfill our oath. -Ilhan Omar

I didn’t think the chuds would actually have the guts to make a real coup attempt. Guess I was wrong. I shudder to think how many of them would be dead if they weren’t white conservatives. They’ve stormed the building, fought with police, and not one of them has been shot. -JT Chapman

Fascist cops let terrorists walk right over them. Trump tweeted to his terrorist mob that the police were on their side.

Trump must be immediately removed. Police must be tried for treason and imprisoned.

I think both are but one is mean, bigoted and in many cases worse. The other forgets at times you have to govern. Therefore progress is slow on some issues and some the majority would never go for. What I'm suggesting is that going forward we avoid making perfection the enemy of the good.

That's not directed at you but an expression of my thinking.

Why was there such a discrepancy between the BLM response and the Capitol Building riot response?

This is part of the answer:

Capitol Police rejected offers of federal help to quell mob

Three days before supporters of President Donald Trump rioted at the Capitol, the Pentagon asked the U.S Capitol Police if it needed National Guard manpower. And as the mob descended on the building Wednesday, Justice Department leaders reached out to offer up FBI agents. The police turned them down both times, according to senior defense officials and two people familiar with the matter.

YAY! TRUMP IS PERMANENTLY SUSPENDED FROM TWITTER!

Permanent suspension of @realDonaldTrump
By Twitter Inc.
Friday, 8 January 2021
After close review of recent Tweets from the @realDonaldTrump account and the context around them — specifically how they are being received and interpreted on and off Twitter — we have permanently suspended the account due to the risk of further incitement of violence.

In the context of horrific events this week, we made it clear on Wednesday that additional violations of the Twitter Rules would potentially result in this very course of action. Our public interest framework exists to enable the public to hear from elected officials and world leaders directly. It is built on a principle that the people have a right to hold power to account in the open.

However, we made it clear going back years that these accounts are not above our rules entirely and cannot use Twitter to incite violence, among other things. We will continue to be transparent around our policies and their enforcement.

The below is a comprehensive analysis of our policy enforcement approach in this case.

Overview

On January 8, 2021, President Donald J. Trump tweeted:

“The 75,000,000 great American Patriots who voted for me, AMERICA FIRST, and MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, will have a GIANT VOICE long into the future. They will not be disrespected or treated unfairly in any way, shape or form!!!”

Shortly thereafter, the President tweeted:

“To all of those who have asked, I will not be going to the Inauguration on January 20th.”

Due to the ongoing tensions in the United States, and an uptick in the global conversation in regards to the people who violently stormed the Capitol on January 6, 2021, these two Tweets must be read in the context of broader events in the country and the ways in which the President’s statements can be mobilized by different audiences, including to incite violence, as well as in the context of the pattern of behavior from this account in recent weeks. After assessing the language in these Tweets against our Glorification of Violence policy, we have determined that these Tweets are in violation of the Glorification of Violence Policy and the user @realDonaldTrump should be immediately permanently suspended from the service.

Assessment

We assessed the two Tweets referenced above under our Glorification of Violence policy, which aims to prevent the glorification of violence that could inspire others to replicate violent acts and determined that they were highly likely to encourage and inspire people to replicate the criminal acts that took place at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.

This determination is based on a number of factors, including:

President Trump’s statement that he will not be attending the Inauguration is being received by a number of his supporters as further confirmation that the election was not legitimate and is seen as him disavowing his previous claim made via two Tweets (1, 2) by his Deputy Chief of Staff, Dan Scavino, that there would be an “orderly transition” on January 20th.
The second Tweet may also serve as encouragement to those potentially considering violent acts that the Inauguration would be a “safe” target, as he will not be attending.
The use of the words “American Patriots” to describe some of his supporters is also being interpreted as support for those committing violent acts at the US Capitol.
The mention of his supporters having a “GIANT VOICE long into the future” and that “They will not be disrespected or treated unfairly in any way, shape or form!!!” is being interpreted as further indication that President Trump does not plan to facilitate an “orderly transition” and instead that he plans to continue to support, empower, and shield those who believe he won the election.
Plans for future armed protests have already begun proliferating on and off-Twitter, including a proposed secondary attack on the US Capitol and state capitol buildings on January 17, 2021.
As such, our determination is that the two Tweets above are likely to inspire others to replicate the violent acts that took place on January 6, 2021, and that there are multiple indicators that they are being received and understood as encouragement to do so.

Extremists intensify calls for violence ahead of Inauguration Day
https://www.cnn.com/2021/01/08/us/online-extremism-inauguration-capito
l-invs/index.html

"Trump or war. Today. That simple."

"If you don't know how to shoot: You need to learn. NOW."

"we will storm the government buildings, kill cops, kill security guards, kill federal employees and agents, and demand a recount."

In the weeks, days and hours ahead of Wednesday's siege on the Capitol by President Donald Trump's zealous supporters, the warning signs were clear: online posts from hate groups and right-wing provocateurs agitating for civil war, the deaths of top lawmakers and attacks on law enforcement.

And now, as the dust settles and the country struggles to make sense of the violence that left five dead -- including an officer with the US Capitol Police -- experts warn that the calls for violence have only intensified ahead of Inauguration Day, when President-elect Joe Biden will be sworn in as commander in chief.

"We are seeing ... chatter from these white supremacists, from these far-right extremists -- they feel emboldened in this moment," said Jonathan Greenblatt, the CEO of the Anti-Defamation League, which tracks and counters hate. "We fully expect that this violence could actually get worse before it gets better."

'Extraordinary dichotomy' in police response to Black Lives Matter protests, Capitol chaos: DC attorney general
BLM and pro-Trump protests tell two different stories, officials say.
https://abcnews.go.com/US/extraordinary-dichotomy-police-response-blac
k-lives-matter-protests/story?id=75118567&cid=clicksource_4380645_6_heads_hero_live_headlines_hed

During Black Lives Matter demonstrations against police brutality in Washington, D.C., last year, law enforcement agencies were documented forcibly pushing back peaceful groups of protesters.

Most notably, on June 1, law enforcement cleared Lafayette Park for an alleged presidential photo-op by deploying pepper balls and smoke canisters. Police also used horses, shields and batons to beat back the demonstrators.

However, primarily white, pro-Trump supporters protesting the results of the presidential election breached the U.S. Capitol Wednesday in a violent siege that D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser called "textbook terrorism." The mob deployed chemical irritants and used weapons such as metal pipes, injuring over 50 officers, authorities said. A Capitol Police officer at the siege died Thursday, several law enforcement sources confirmed to ABC News. Authorities are investigating his death.

The mob made its way up the Capitol steps, breaking through barricades and past officers in riot gear and other security measures. At one point, people could be seen in one video easily bypassing a barrier as U.S. Capitol Police stood by. In other videos, officers were seen vigorously fighting back against large groups of rioters.

Once inside the Capitol building, the pro-Trump mob moved freely and shouted chants while holding "Trump 2020" signs and a Confederate flag. Police used tear gas, and a Capitol Police officer fatally shot a protester, authorities said. From video captured at the scene, the woman appeared to be shot as she attempted to jump through the broken glass side pane of a barricaded door outside of the House Chamber, where lawmakers were huddled, and toward an armed officer.

For D.C. Attorney General Karl Racine, there was an "extraordinary dichotomy" in the federal response between Black Lives Matter protests and an attempted "coup d'etat on a lawful presidential election."

"You saw effectively an invitation to come into the Capitol and do what you want, because you happen to be a supporter of Trump," Racine told ABC News. "There's no doubt in my mind that if the protesters were brown, Black, immigrants, you would have seen the president spew out all of his hate and it would have been aggressive, and there would have been a different story told."

Capitol assault a more sinister attack than first appeared
The full extent of the assault on the U.S. Capitol is coming into sharper focus, with scenes of violence so vast they are difficult to grasp
https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/wireStory/capitol-assault-sinister-att
ack-appeared-75171068

Under battle flags bearing Donald Trump's name, the Capitol's attackers pinned a bloodied police officer in a doorway, his twisted face and screams captured on video. They mortally wounded another officer with a blunt weapon and body-slammed a third over a railing into the crowd.

“Hang Mike Pence!" the insurrectionists chanted as they pressed inside, beating police with pipes. They demanded House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's whereabouts, too. They hunted any and all lawmakers: “Where are they?” Outside, makeshift gallows stood, complete with sturdy wooden steps and the noose. Guns and pipe bombs had been stashed in the vicinity.

Only days later is the extent of the danger from one of the darkest episodes in American democracy coming into focus. The sinister nature of the assault has become evident, betraying the crowd as a force determined to occupy the inner sanctums of Congress and run down leaders — Trump’s vice president and the Democratic House speaker among them.

This was not just a collection of Trump supporters with MAGA bling caught up in a wave.

That revelation came in real time to Rep. Jim McGovern, D-Mass., who briefly took over proceedings in the House chamber as the mob closed in Wednesday and the speaker, Rep. Nancy Pelosi, was spirited to safer quarters moments before everything went haywire.

“I saw this crowd of people banging on that glass screaming,” McGovern told The Associated Press on Sunday. “Looking at their faces, it occurred to me, these aren’t protesters. These are people who want to do harm.”

The animating force of modern Republicanism is this: Democratic Party rule is an existential threat to America and is by definition illegitimate. It is a belief that explains much of what we’ve seen from the GOP in the past few decades, the glue that binds together Republicans.

There is the argument, offered by mainstream Republicans at the highest levels, that freedom itself is on the ballot: that the Democratic agenda is so catastrophic that it will spell the end of America as we know it.

This is something Republicans have been saying about Democratic policies for decades. In 1961, Ronald Reagan warned that the passage of Medicare would be the end of liberty in America: that if federalized insurance for the elderly were to become law, “you and I are going to spend our sunset years telling our children, and our children’s children, what it once was like in America when men were free.”

More recently, Obamacare would create “death panels,” transforming the “America I know and love” by imposing “a system that is downright evil” on it.

In 2014, Ted Cruz claimed that Obama’s use of executive orders was creating “an imperial presidency [that] threatens the liberty of every citizen.” In 2019, the National Republican Congressional Committee — the official arm of the party responsible for House races — accused Democrats of being murderous Stalinists.

These arguments do not merely attack Democratic policies; they attack the very idea that Democrats can be legitimate leaders of the American government.

Democracies run on “mutual toleration”: the idea that, in a democracy, both parties respect the other one’s right to win elections and hold power. In the United States, Republicans have told their supporters that Democrats do not, in fact, have a right to rule — that they are fundamentally hostile to the American way of life.

The thug wearing the Camp Auschwitz hoodie has been identified as one Robert Keith Packer of Virginia. In a day full of infamy, this one stood out in its loathsomeness. A symbol of a very dark period of time in our world’s history; a name synonymous with the virulent anti-Semitism of the Nazis and the murder of millions of Jews.

Robert Keith Packer was also pictured inside the Capitol with “other very fine people.” He had plenty of other Holocaust denying Neo-Nazis thugs in the mob that broke into the Capitol, including Tim Gionet aka Baked Alaska, a well known promoter of anti-Semitic conspiracies.

Looks like he has something in common with the other insurrectionists identified and arrested. A criminal record. Trump really sends his best people.

We now know that several people involved in this insurrection had detailed inside knowledge of the layout of the Capitol, including the locations of certain offices, that people removed panic buttons, and that some knew where the tunnels were.

They were given guided tours.

This was an inside job, and we're lucky these trumptard terrorists didn't murder more people.

This thread will explode after the election if Joe wins. It'll explode if the orange turd wins, too.

Reichwing violence is a permanent feature of fascism.

Wow. Did I nail it, or what?

The Proud Boys—a far-right, neo-fascist hate group that has vocally supported President Donald Trump’s attempt to overturn the 2020 presidential election—continues to incite violence in the aftermath of the Capitol insurrection.

Good prediction that I fear will continue to age well.

Except that CNN and DC have both admitted they were full of shit, right after they pulled off another baseless impeachment.

Clowns.

US police three times as likely to use force against leftwing protesters, data finds
Law enforcement responses to more than 13,000 protests show a clear disparity in responses, new statistics show

-protests-black-lives-matter-far-right

The statistics, based on law enforcement responses to more than 13,000 protests across the United States since April 2020, show a clear disparity in how agencies have responded to the historic wave of Black Lives Matter protests against police violence, compared with demonstrations organized by Trump supporters.

Given the DC police complicity in what happened, who could be surprised?

Look at the brutality in Portland. Kid gloves with these actual, real terrorists.
