They'd have a fight on their hands.

And your cousin who bought up property on the moon didn't actually buy anything but high priced paper. It still was a better deal than a college degree though.

PolitiFact retracts Wuhan lab theory ‘fact-check’

An awful lot of people in the press were eager last year, maybe a little too eager, to dismiss the theory suggesting the COVID-19 virus originated in a lab in Wuhan, China.

It was foolish then to reject the theory outright without any conclusive evidence. It looks even more foolish now, as evidence continues to mount showing the theory may actually be correct.

The Wuhan Lab Leak Question: A Disused Chinese Mine Takes Center Stage

In April 2012, six miners here fell sick with a mysterious illness after entering the mine to clear bat guano. Three of them died.

Chinese scientists from the Wuhan Institute of Virology were called in to investigate and, after taking samples from bats in the mine, identified several new coronaviruses.

Now, unanswered questions about the miners’ illness, the viruses found at the site and the research done with them have elevated into the mainstream an idea once dismissed as a conspiracy theory: that SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes Covid-19, might have leaked from a lab in Wuhan, the city where the first cases were found in December 2019.

The lab researchers thus far haven’t provided full and prompt answers, and there have been discrepancies in some information they have released. That has led to demands by leading scientists for a deeper investigation into the Wuhan institute and whether the pandemic virus could have been in its labs and escaped.

China is digging an Australia-sized hole for itself

The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) does not seem to care much for the so-called "Law of Holes:" the adage that if you find yourself in one, stop digging. The live case study is the cascading economic coercive measures and barrage of insults it is leveling against Australia. Beijing's malice is proving that the Trump and Biden administrations got it right in identifying China as the comprehensive challenge of our times.

Hey... At least we can agree that the Chinese government sucks.

I wouldn't underestimate them though. They think in blocks of multiple centuries at a time unlike Americans who think in 4 year blocks.

While it's true we might be witnessing hubris on display, I don't think they're making moves today that haven't been planned out a long time ago.

China to 'welcome the Taliban back' in bid to extend Belt and Road into Afghanistan

China is said to have a long term strategy but without friends it will fail. So far they've pissed off all their neighbors and many other countries around the globe. They've tipped their hand and exposed what their long term strategy is, and it isn't good for anyone. It's been amazing to see how stupidly they've used aggression against everyone, even Russia. This is not a winning strategy.

It shows a complete lack of understanding of how to use diplomacy to further their policies. In other words; they have no experience doing so. This applies to their military as well.

They have no experience waging a battle much less a war. And since each branch of their military must go through the central government to get instructions, they lack the capability of launching a multiprong attack that isn't planned out well in advance. In other words, successfully using a 3 dimensional approach to fighting.

I'm still waiting on a typhoon to wipe out their manufactured islands.

Hey. Every once in a while Ted and I can find something to agree on.

Have you ever taken a look at Wish.com or Alibaba.com before?

You can find a few hundred thousand knock-off products made in China that are loosely based off of U.S. patents, copyrighted code and trade secrets. All of which have been reverse-engineered by China and then reproduced with inferior materials by underpaid and overworked people, often children, who work in unsafe conditions all day long and create most of the world's pollution.

China's maritime militia breaks rules and charts course for global dominance

China's quest to become a maritime superpower has turned its massive fishing fleet into a floating militia that actively engages in aggressive, and often illegal, practices at sea.

Left unchecked, China's dominance would not only undermine international regulations but could also threaten the very existence of America's allies and reshape the global fishing industry forever.

The U.S. State Department, foreign governments, and conservation groups have all accused China's fleet of illegal fishing, pointing to its repeated use of banned equipment and the practice of "going dark," which involves switching off satellite tracking and entering prohibited waters without detection. China's overfishing has created a serious environmental crisis, resulting in a dangerous geopolitical power grab that could be the death knell for coastal communities that depend on the waters for their livelihood.

Despite talk of the Chinese Air Force becoming more skilled, this flight didn't show it. There are several air bases in the area facing Taiwan, but apparently the PLAAF needs all of the planes taking part in the operation to take off from one location—Liangcheng Longyan Guanzhi. This suggests that Chinese Air Force commanders keep a tight hold on their pilots and that there's a ton of top-down direction for what amounts to fairly elementary flying.

China vows retaliation after US blacklists companies

The U.S. Commerce Department said in a statement Friday that the electronics and technology firms and other businesses helped enable “Beijing’s campaign of repression, mass detention and high-technology surveillance” against Muslim minorities in Xinjiang.

The penalties prohibit Americans from selling equipment or other goods to the firms. The United States has stepped up financial and trade penalties over China’s treatment of Uyghurs and other Muslim minorities, along with its crackdown on democracy in the semi-autonomous city of Hong Kong.

And he who is not sufficiently courageous to defend his soul — don’t let him be proud of his ‘progressive’ views, and don’t let him boast that he is an academician or a people’s artist, a distinguished figure or a general. The U.S. Navy is now operating a special unit of submariners designed to train their colleagues in undersea warfare.

The Aggressor Squadron (AGGRON) takes the latest information on how potential submarine adversaries like Russia and China fight, and uses that intel in exercises against American subs. The result is a force that already knows how the enemy thinks, giving it a vital edge in the underwater battlefield.
