My theory is that the wrong cops showed up to the Pelosi's house and caught Paul ass raping DePape with a hammer in a gimp suit. Paul threatened the cops with their jobs and maybe even their lives and the lives of their families if this ever got out. The right cops showed up later... The ones that Nancy had ordered the cops to kill DePape and hide the body because she was sick of Paul risking everything they've illegally obtained with his myriad of perverse addictions and drug dependencies. But there was no way they were going to go so far as to stage the murder of a few cops not on the Pelosi payroll so they were figuring out the best way to cover up this situation with the best outcome for everyone involved that wasn't named De Pape.

Feeling desperate after hearing the conversation that Big Gay Paul and the cops were having right in front of him, Depape ripped the hammer out of his ass and hit Paul a few times with it to break free and ran to the back door to try to bust it open and escape before the cops got him.

The fact the wrong cops showed up to the house first is the only reason that De Pape is still breathing today.
