I believe in solving problems, not sharing them.

All that stuff about "everybody" thinking that Saddam had WMD is just a load of crap. I'm sorry, but it's just plain unmitigated bullsh*t. We were warned by the Italians about the "yellowcake" forgery. Bush was told by his nuclear experts quite plainly that the aluminum tubes were not suitable for uranium production. And ALL of the intelligence reports were loaded with cautions because the data was equivocal. (equi= equal vocal= voice; ie. literally speaking several ways equally; open to two or more interpretations or of uncertain nature or significance; uncertain as a sign or indication).

But most damning to Bush's story was the fact that he chased Hans Blix and the UNMOVIC (UN weapons inspection team) out of Iraq before they could finish their assessment. You have to realize that UNMOVIC was examining suspicious sites as directed by the CIA. Inspections were the best source of WMD intelligence on Iraq. Hans Blix and his team of utterly dedicated inspectors (including Scott Ritter and Charles Duelfer) were finding NO indication of WMD production or programs. They would have been able to wrap up the job in a couple of months, Bush jumped the gun because he simply wanted to ensure that his excuse to invade iraq wasn't eliminated.

End of story, and anyone who says differently is either sadly and woefully misinformed or an unmitigated liar.
