Just as George Soros planned.

Germans will pay for that first. Then the rest of the world will when prices for energy rise.

I froze the video at the very beginning just to be sure of what I was seeing. Did you see that effing LINE of cars backed up behind? All the way to the horizon.

Yanno, I'm very passionate about saving the environment. Not bc I really feel sorry for any particular species, but bc (on reflection) the environment is the only thing keeping us alive. It's not like we have anyplace else to go, is there?

When I was young I joined a club that set up the very first recycling center at our end of the state, and volunteered every Saturday. I secretly planted willows on creek banks and did cleanups with a group. I dedicated my professional and (in the time leftover from taking care of family) my personal personal life to that cause. I'm still agitating for our city to do more.

And in my youth, I MIGHT have done something like these kids. But I wouldn't fucking be crying about it when police show up and put me in cuffs, bc what else do you expect?

When you do something like that, it doesn't further your cause, it just pisses people off and lands you in jail.

Activists were protesting the Burning Man festival over the use of private jets. Photos from the protest show an XR banner that says 'Ban Private Jets', as well as other signs which say 'Burners of the world unite, and 'abolish capitalism'. Protestors said they were also against 'the popularization of Burning Man among affluent people who do not live the stated values of Burning Man, resulting in the commodification of the event.''No single individual should have the luxury of emitting 10 to 20 times more carbon pollution than a commercial airline passenger. Burners, rebel with us.'

Among its demands are that Burning Man leadership 'advocate for system change on both political and economic levels' and ban private jets, single-use plastics, 'unnecessary propane burning and unlimited generator use' at the nine-day event.

How to Fly on a Private Jet to Burning Man?

The closest airport is Reno International Airport, where you can expect a 2h 15m drive to the Burning Man site. We suggest relying on a VIP transfer to the event if you prefer this approach, ensuring you arrive relaxed and fully ready to take part in the festivities.

Alternatively, you can take a private flight directly to the Black Rock City airport inside Burning Man premises. This isn’t a controlled airfield, which leads us to suggest a more reliable alternative, such as Reno.

A more effective protest would be burning all the private jets at Reno Airport so that the VIPs would get the message about not flying jets to Burning Man next year.

It was 92 degrees in the middle of the fucking desert with only one road to drive down.

Blocking the roads is a federal and state crime.

If I were stuck there because of them, the cops wouldn't have needed to be called because they would have met my baseball bat.

Good luck cancelling those cops, BTW... They're native tribe cops, and they don't abide any of that woke bullshit.

And in the end, the only people there who did ANYTHING for the environment on that day were the Cops who opened the road for the miles upon miles of backed up vehicles who were wasting all that gas idling and keeping the A/C at full blast.

Not that I hope any innocent people die, but one day somebody IS going to die because of these retards and people are going to hate them even more.

People want to be climate activists? Then stop doing the "easy" shit for likes on Twitter and go do some deep diving and clean up the fucking ocean or something.

Aside from taking personal responsibility... which may make you feel virtuous but in the end amounts to a fart in a hurricane... doing anything about anything is highly political. You need to get a big enough group together to apply significant pressure on politicians. And you definitely need your own media outlet bc TPTB will be "messaging" against you 24/7/365 with their bought-and-paid-for media whores.

Yeah...

Or they need to do what Second suggested and burn the CEO personal jets down to the ground.

But the thing about doing something like that is that you would almost certainly get caught and/or it could get out of control and you actually get people killed while doing it. And not a single one of them are going to actually risk doing anything that could get them into any real trouble.

I saw people on Twitter trying to protect these idiots and saying things like "it was protests against the English that led to America being a thing". All I had to say to that bullshit line of reasoning is "Oh yeah? They were willing to lay their lives on the line for the cause. Are YOU willing to do the same?"

The answer is, of course they aren't.

Look at them crying like babies when their actions had actual consequences. If cops nationwide hadn't been neutered so hard post-George Floyd, none of these retards would have dared try blocking any streets like they keep doing now.

And that pendulum is going to swing the other way and some heads are going to get cracked.

I'm no fan of the Police State that GWB was trying to turn the United States into during the Aughts. And I fear that Democrats have made crime so bad across the nation that it will be an inevitability soon.

Unfortunately for normal folk in the middle, there will be no happy medium, and things will always get worse because one side takes the reins and takes things way to far, only for the other side to take the reins back and go even further the other way with it.

Instead of breaking the roadblock, people who drove from the airport should have gotten the message to turn around and go home.

Other than eternally bragging about attending in the mud, the only lasting impact of Burning Man is the CO2 released into the atmosphere by burning "The Man" and burning fossil fuel to arrive and leave Burning Man. The Festival is all about American hedonism and futility amplified more than an average pointless day in America:

Trapped in Mud, Burning Man Attendees Are Told to Conserve Food

Updated Sunday, Sept. 3, 2023, 8:00 a.m. ET

As the festival in the remote Nevada desert became encased in mud after heavy rains on Friday night, the police opened an investigation on Saturday into the death of an attendee.

As thousands of attendees at the Burning Man festival in a remote stretch of the Black Rock Desert in Nevada were told on Saturday to conserve food, water and fuel after heavy rainfall trapped them in thick mud, the police opened an investigation into the death of a person during the event.

The Pershing County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement that the family of the victim had been notified, but that no further information was available early Sunday because the investigation was continuing.

Burning Man, which takes place in Black Rock City and began last Sunday, was interrupted by heavy rains on Friday night, and organizers directed attendees to shelter in place as rain poured over the area.

The festival site received more than half an inch of rain overnight on Friday, organizers said. While it had stopped for much of Saturday, more was expected in the evening and into Sunday morning, with a slight chance of thunderstorms, they said.

Except for emergency services, vehicles have also been prohibited around Black Rock City.

The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office said on the platform X, formerly known as Twitter, that officials had closed the entrance to Burning Man for the remainder of the event, which ends on Monday.

Festivalgoers could be trapped for several days, organizers said.

“The gate and airport in and out of Black Rock City remain closed,” organizers announced on Saturday morning. “Ingress and egress are halted until further notice.”

Black Rock City is a temporary community that pops up each year in the middle of a vast desert known as “the playa” for Burning Man. The makeshift town hosts more than 60,000 people every year and is a three-hour drive from the nearest airport, which is more than 100 miles away in Reno.

Videos on social media have shown Burning Man attendees trudging through flooded fields and dense mud. Portable restrooms, R.V. campers and people appeared to be slathered in the muck. Some tied trash bags around their shoes.

Burning Man, which has been around since the 1980s, is a self-described “community and global cultural movement” that is premised on countercultural principles, such as radical self-expression.

The festival is known to draw crowds of people dressed in eclectic garments and costumes, and it has been popularized over the years by a steady stream of celebrity and mogul attendees.

The event features art installations and culminates with the burning of a giant sculpture of a man, giving it its name.

Tara Saylor, who is attending this year’s festival, told The Los Angeles Times that “Burning Man is radical self-reliance and we’re being put to the test.”

Despite the weather, Burning Man attendees say they were prepared and trained for such conditions. The event is “much different than going to a music festival like Coachella,” said Kaz Qamruddin, who is attending his sixth “burn.”

“We have very smart people here,” he said in a phone interview on Saturday.

People have medical supplies and warm clothes and are helping to keep others safe and dry, he said.

Attendees have also opened their R.V. campers to those who had been staying in tents, which were the most vulnerable to the water, Mr. Qamruddin said.

This year’s Burning Man has had to contend with multiple snags. On the festival’s opening day, environmental activists blockaded the entrance, creating a logjam, NBC News reported.

And with incredibly muddy conditions, water puddled to their ankles and more rain expected tonight, attendees are unlikely to leave until early next week.

Mr. Qamruddin already changed his departing flights to next Friday — after initially planning to leave on Sunday.

“This is a very kind, open, sharing, giving community,” he said. “We’re safe. I feel good.”
